I don't think time stops in the painting. My interpretation in ep 6 is the time in the painting and the time in the real world is different. Ramil was trapped in the painting for 100 years in the real world, so time is still running and those in the painting just doesn't get affected by it

In the Novel I think it's like 12 years but in the series I think it's more like 8 or 9 years :)
