spending the time is spent on the main hall, and the intercom is not broken there. the intercom that's broken is in their rooms, which was broken so they'll have no choice but to depend on/follow orders of the top floors for necessities

I agree that this is kinda hard to watch. I'm in ep 7 now and very eager to finish this just so it's out of my mind. I dreamt abt this last night (not a good dream lol) and I was just in ep 4 then hahaha

it was. it shows the harsh reality why many victims don't come out and sue their rapists, and what the effects not just for the person but for their friends and families as well

i don't think it did, though i haven't read the books yet, but the movie is just too short for a book. so maybe the plan was to have a part 2 or another series. but we can just speculate and wait as there's no news about it yet :)
