A beautifully filmed movie! I loved all the colors. I gotta say the characters made some questionable choices and learning about the original book ending in the comments here.... oh 😭
A heavy watch.. I liked the ending. Thanks god the writers are not THAT insane. I really enjoyed the two leads performance. Love runs so deeply. I think not just the not the two leads but so many other characters too. I would say they could've wrapped it up in 2 less episodes and I dont like being in so much emotional distress lol but its an incredible story about people, love in a war torn country, survival and the failures of Joseon philosophy. A solid 8.5/10.
Why was it invaded so easily ,if it was so easy to invade then how come the previous invaders could not invade…
If i remember correctly, Qing invaded in the winter because this left joseon vulnerable. They could cross the frozen rivers and they secrectly disguised themselves as merchants and headed straight to the king fortress and not the outer gates. Like a sneak attack. Joseon was known for their army so they needed to play smart.
Again with its was known the the barbarians were no so great at water. I'm guessing because Joseon was in already vulnerable and in attack. Joseon wasn't ready. Even the FL hometown wasn't captured in the last attack 10 years ago. They couldnt believe the barbarians reach so far down south. This time around Qing played smart on his choices. thats how he captured joseon.
The first episode in pt.1 where the FL dreams of a string and follows it through mountains, river, snow and onto the beach is literally what she went through to meet her husband.
Love makes the world go around and round even in a war torn country love prevails. Joseon sick beliefs to the victims of war made my blood boil. How could they abandon their people. Its so true how fear can turn into something scary.

Mao De Shu or cattree is a director/producer in China. He gained a lot fans for his particular style of directing. Very sentimental and youthful. If you watch any of his work, you can see his distinct style and has been making really good coming of age/youth dramas lately. He also often works with the same writers/producers and tends to cast fresh faces instead of well established ones. ( Zhang Miao Yi , Lu Yu Xiao and cast of WIFTY) He kinda knows what the young demographic likes i reckon.
His best works i think are lovely us, a little romance, back to seventeen, and WIFTY( so happy it got international recognition!!)
Didnt want to be sad. Was halfway through the drama and saw that li si died 😭😭 bro i dont wanna go through that pain so i might have to drop it. Still despite that, great drama, amazing acting. AMAZING CASTING!! Thank wind direction team. 8/10
Zhou ye in better days surprised me! I've seen her play very sweet type of characters so her role in better days shocked me. She did great portraying an unlikable character haha
Love the list. I recognise a lot of faces here. Cdramaland has so many fresh actors. I like seeing new faces when I watch a drama, Just because lol here are my personal favourite young and rising actors in cdrama :
