The drama closest to my heart.
There are dramas that you either enjoy watching or you don’t. And then there are dramas like this that manage to reach the deepest parts of your heart.I believe It’s Okay to Not be Okay is a drama that you’ll fall in love with when the story hits close to home. There are many scenes throughout this drama that really made me cry and touched me in so many ways. And no, it wasn’t all the sad moments. The characters in this drama felt so real that I even cried out of happiness for them. Every time I watch this, I don’t see Kim Soo Hyun, Seo Ye Ji, and Oh Jung Se anymore. It is Moon Kang Tae, Ko Moon Young, and Moon Sang Tae, who I felt closer to than any character I’ve seen before.
Honestly, this is the first time I ever felt this way about a drama. I’ve watched ongoing dramas but I have never been this excited for every episode. My Saturdays and Sundays were never the same and without meaning to, I found really awesome people because of our shared suffering while waiting every week (you know who you guys are! <3). IOTNBO has made these past two months better and I can’t believe how time passed by so quickly.
I just loved everything about this drama: the cinematography, acting, soundtrack, and scriptwriting. This drama always gave us beautiful shots, awesome animation, and creative transitions. Kim Soo Hyun, Seo Ye Ji, and Oh Jung Se showed us stellar acting performances and broke my heart so many times. Even the supporting characters were really good at their roles. The OST was something that kept me going while waiting each week and I really appreciate how they had English songs. I also loved how the story had a balance between sad and happy moments. I usually get bored by a drama that’s too sad so I like how they insert comedic scenes in between. There are also so many relatable quotes and one of my favorites is a piece of advice from Doctor Oh.
“When you’re tired, get some rest. When you’re sad, go ahead and cry. It’s okay to take a break. Then one day, there will surely come a day when you’ll be able to run again.”
Another thing I really loved about this drama is how it was able to incorporate fairytales and stories in every episode. Ko Moon Young’s stories in particular were all really good, especially the one in the ending. I admire the writer for writing these fairytales on top of writing a drama.
I know this drama is by no means perfect. It still left me with a few questions about Moon Young’s mom. But truth be told, I am here for the relationships and development of the characters. It’s a small part of what is overall a satisfying journey. I finally agree with Kim Soo Hyun when he said that this is a healing drama. After all the sadness and pain, in the end, I finally felt the happiness and healing.
This drama might be either something you love or you don’t. We all have different stories. But what I’m really sure of is that this drama will always have a special place in my heart. :’)

Almost gave up but overall a good drama
I almost gave up on this drama. I loved it at first but I lost interest more than halfway through. However, I’m glad I pushed through. I think this is a drama you should watch slowly instead of binge watching it. I wish I watched it while it was airing. I think I would be able to appreciate it more.To be honest, I thought this was a romantic comedy after watching the trailer. But this drama is actually about mothers and family. The last episode really made me cry. I love the relationships of the characters. The neighborhood is like one big family and it was really heartwarming.
I think this might not be everyone’s cup of tea. Dongbaek’s life stressed me out and it was really infuriating that so many people didn’t treat her well. I also didn’t like how she was very meek but she did have character development towards the end. On the other hand, I really adored Yong Shik’s character although he also has his flaws. This drama made me fall in love with Kang Ha Neul. Honestly, I didn’t feel a lot of chemistry between the main leads but they are really good actors. I went into this expecting romance but I stayed for the other stories.
Overall, I think this is worth watching although I wish it was shorter.

I almost dropped this.
I almost dropped this on the first episode. I only continued because of Takeru Satou and I'm so glad I did. I haven't seen the Korean version so everything was new to me. After that a little boring first episode, I was gripped. I finished this in two days. Haha. The story was really good and the acting was even better. The actress who played Reina was soooo good, I wanted to punch her face several times. (I'm sorry.)I liked how this had only 10 episodes so the suffering I went through along with the main characters wasn't too long. It also felt satisfying to see Misa change and learn how to stand up for herself.
That being said, I wouldn't watch it again. I was stressed even until the last episode. My only wish was that the happy moments were longer. I also wish we got a wedding scene. But these are all just my preferences and I'm sure others won't mind.
Anyway, I have no regrets spending my weekend on this. Haha.

Some boring parts but still worth it.
Yes, you read that right. Some parts actually bored me and I wanted to skip it but I’m glad I stayed for the main couple.Honestly, I think the story of the grandfather didn’t add to the beauty of this drama and I wish they just cut it. It was okay at first but after a while, I found myself thinking I wouldn’t mind lesser episodes if they just focused on the main couple. Also, even though I like Zhang Miao Yi, I felt like she didn’t have chemistry with Su Haoan so I wasn’t invested in their story. An example of a great second couple would be from When I Fly Towards You and they just couldn’t compare.
Anyway, with that being said, the story for the main couple is amazing. I really like how they handled Wen Yifan’s trauma and I’m so glad the scenes weren’t too graphic and triggering. It’s just my personal preference. I also think Bai Jingting and Zhang Ruonan are such good actors and they really brought their characters to life.
I loved Victor Ma in Hidden Love and at first I had a hard time disconnecting him from this drama but I’m so so glad they had BJT as Sang Yan for this because he crushed his role. He gained a new fan in me and I will look out for his upcoming dramas. He was also hoooot during the action scenes and when he shouted at Uncle Che when he went to Overtime. That was very specific, I’m sorry. Haha. He is also good at the sad scenes too and he has the saddest puppy eyes I’ve ever seen, you can’t help but feel sorry for him. Actually, he and Zhang Ruonan both.
Also, I can’t help but mention that the proposal scene was soooo good. Like the way BJT and ZR cried during that scene, you can really feel the love, it felt soooo real hahaha.
Excuse my messy thoughts and long review. I just had a lot to say about this. Haha.
Edit: Updated my rating because I believe this drama deserves more. I can’t move on. Haha.

A drama that would stay with me for a long time.
This is a perfect drama in my heart and no one can tell me otherwise. It's been more than a week since I watched this and I've watched many shows since then but I still couldn't stop thinking about this. Seeing clips from the drama on social media still makes my heart flutter and reminds me of the best time I had watching this.
I think words can't explain how much I love everything about this drama. It makes me nostalgic for a past I didn't have. I was attached to all the characters and even though this wasn't supposed to be too sad, it unexpectedly made me cry. It seems as if I felt what they were going through. Maybe that is actually the secret formula. At least once in our lives, we also liked someone so much and hoped they liked us back. We found friends who felt like family.
Zhang Lurang is definitely a good man, a man written by a woman but I think the best character award goes to Su Zai Zai. She is confident and she knows her worth. She goes after what she wants. She is kind but she also stands up for herself when she knows she's right. Honestly, she's the kind of woman I hope to be.
I highly recommend this drama if you want a good drama that will leave you with a full and happy heart.
