I feel like I’m the only one who feels really underwhelmed with this series :( Which sucks cause I love KNP so much and I personally think they’re doing a great job.
But the characters for me personally lack a lot of depth? We’re 6 episodes in and I feel like we know nothing about Khemjira as a person. Aside from the fact that he’s sweet? Like idk. Your life is on the line and I’d expect anyone in a situation to be desperate, scared, trying their best to figure anything out that could help lift the curse. But he’s just so passive about the whole thing you could argue he’s already given up. I understand he’s waiting on Pharan to help, but you’re actively inching closer and closer to death and the one person who can help is refusing to. Where’s the anger? Where’s the hopelessness?
Maybe my opinion stems from a lack of understanding Khem which if that’s the case I’m sorry. But it’s just so hard to believe that a person who’s actively dying and constantly being reminded of it is not trying their absolute best to do something about it. Cooking and cleaning for a guy who ‘might’ help just isn’t enough for me. I’m also not the biggest fan of their ‘budding romance’? I’m just not convinced you suddenly like a guy you met 10 minutes ago and prioritise that than searching for ways to save your life. I also hate reincarnation stories where they rely heavily on past love to love a person in their now current life. It’s just really lazy to me, the beauty of reincarnation romance is that you fall in love with every version of a person everytime. Like Pharan isn’t peem. But yea just my thoughts.
I’m far from dropping the series and I’m excited to see if he grows into his strength and lets go of begging his way into having someone save him and saves himself instead. But I’m not sure. Regardless I’m cheering on KNP and I love having them on screen just wish I liked the characters more.
Honestly one of my fav shows airing rn, it's really light, funny and the concept feels so refreshing (hasnt been done a billion times before) The side couple are just as interesting as the main which is kinda rare for me i find i don't care much about people outside the main leads.
