I enjoy the dynamic between Xiang Antu and Zang Hai in this drama. It's refreshing to see a man without martial arts background being saved by a strong and confident girlfriend. I also admire how Antu is a woman who goes after what she wants, without compromising her femininity or sense of dignity. I don't like it when some dramas or people portray capable women who pursue love, as weak or lesser when in reality, for many of us love is a source of strength. I applaud individuals, especially strong-willed women, who don’t view love as a vulnerability. And Zang Hai not feeling inferior as a man is a plus.
Ren Min is good, for me she's pretty too. I can distinguish her among other actresses because of her unique face. I can't stand those people who keep on hating and bashing her because she's not pretty enough when Zhu Yan was described as not overly beautiful in the novel.
I've just found out that Cao Jie, who portrays Fei Chi, and Chen Xingxu were actually classmates/dormmates. It seems that the cast members had a pre-existing connection prior to working on this drama together. This production must have been a significant reunion for them.
