This drama is based on a 2020 Korean Manhwa entitled, 사내 맞선 (alternatively: "The Office Blind Date", "A Business Proposal"), which was penned by Hae Hwa. And from what I’ve read the series will be helmed by Park Seon Ho ("Wok of Love" and "Suspicious Partner"). While the script will be written by Han Sul Hee and Hong Bo Hee.
The Manhwa is basically about Shen Yu Fei (FL) who’s family finds themselves heavily indebted after opening a fried chicken restaurant just prior to the avian flu outbreak. She also finds herself forced to put in long hours in overtime to payoff the company loans she owes. And thus, susceptible when her BFF and chaebol heiress who’s also desperate to get out from another blind date that her father has setup, suggests paying (actually cons) Yu Fei into going on her behave while pretending to be a super-vixen in order to not only sabotage her latest blind date, but to also put an end to all future blind dates that her father might want to setup for her. However, and to Yu Fei’s misfortune her blind date ends up being with Leng Yan, who turns out to be the new CEO of her company. And he's got plans of his own in order to get his family off his back as far as marriage goes by deciding to marry the next girl who shows up at his next blind date (i.e., Yu Fei). And this is where all the hilarity and later romance centers around.
Wow! I'm stoked, the trailer looks really good... But at the same time, also a bit apprehensive because it kind of depicts a dystopian like world where technology similar to what Mark Zuckerberg's metaverse vision promises has run amok.
OMG!!! It's Kim Min Jae 25th b'day 🎂 🥳 today!!! Wishing him the best b'day ever with many more to come, and the best of luck in all his future acting endeavors. Love his acting and especially his portrayal of Jin Moo Hak in this Kdrama.
Things are getting super interesting with Kikuno et Seigo (I don't like him but Kikuno just fascinates me, I want…
"I wish to know why she want to help Seigo to be together with Hayame."
But is she really doing that? Because I get the impression it's all a sick manipulative game to her. Just look how she manipulated Hayame's emotionally starved & insecure ex-husband. And now, she's planning to expand her sadistic plan in order to cause further havoc, as well as destroy even more innocent people and their lives. No offense, but people like that don't "fascinate" me, nor am I "curious" about them at all. In fact, I find that sort of curiosity a bit creepy because messed up sadistic manipulative psychos like Kikuno deserve our scorn, not our empathy. Nor do I see her character displaying any of the characteristics that define a true multi-dimensional and somewhat relatable villain… Right now, I see her only as a soulless and somewhat irredeemable individual, who seems to get her jollies by manipulating & toying with other people and their lives—like some heartless predator merciless playing with their victim & prey just before snuffing out their lives. Or to put it plainly, I just don’t see any humanity in her—not one iota. In fact, she might as well be from Central Casting and might as well be starring in a melodrama, complete with black top hat, cape, and handlebar moustache so we viewers can boo and hiss at her every time she makes an entrance on the screen.
If only there really was a legal system where the whole nation could judge in a trial. Imagine if a big cartoon…
Actually, we already have something similar, it's called Twitter, the Internet and Cancel Culture... And it's already proving to be extremely DANGEROUS for long held democratic principles & beliefs, like free speech, freedom of expression and due process. So yes, by all means let’s do everything possible to further compound & expand on that stupidity. And let’s pay more taxes to speed that process up, because who in their right mind would be against having mob rule infest the judicial process as well, right?
T-G-I-W!! Because I’m so hooked on this drama and on the chemistry between the two leads, that I can't wait another day w/o getting another fix. Yes friends, I'm seriously dying here if I don't get to watch ep #5 today! The truth is, I'm already starting to show some serious signs of withdrawal the last two days… Which is now causing my mom to suspect the worst. So, I hope today's episode gets uploaded ASAP w/ Eng. Subs if possible sometime today. Hell, I even got my popcorn ready as well as cleaned my laptop's screen several times today already.
