Noh Hee Kyung has my complete trust on this. Those who are quick to judge probably haven't seen yet her other…
I don't know any of the writer's other work but am just in awe of her deft writing. With just a few spare scenes she's managed to introduce the viewer to an wide cast of characters in just 2 episodes while cleverly hinting at backstories, personalities, grievances, family relationships., etc.
Beautiful writing.
For example, I loved the scenes where Dong-Seok the peddlar visits this little village to sell his goods. Watching him just sell a few items to the old ladies there, you realise that he is either an extremely generous man - since he repeatedly agrees to hand over goods below their actual value - or that he is horribly taken advantage of by the old grandmas. To add insult to injury, he finds out that they have bought food and other stuff they had previously ordered from him from another sales truck... and he explodes with disappointment and anger.
Such a small scene, but beautifully revealing and creating sympathy and interest for the characer in the audience!

How entitled can anyone think they are to rate a show having only watched 2 episodes??? This is a bit disrespectful and immature, in my opinion. Write comments as much as you like, ok, but posting ratings already??? My, oh my....!

Honestly, people here are too keen on this infernal rating and comparing...
I hate this aspect of MDL !

Honestly, if the constant comparisons, rankings and ratings on Kdrama websites is a reflection of the (much-criticised) competitiveness of society as a whole in South Korea, I no longer wonder how the term "Hell Joseon" came about!!

Just watched the first episode and I am already charmed by this show! I loved the "slice of life"-feeling, of the first episode, you just watch as everyday people get up in the morning and go about their daily life. The characters are introduced very shrewdly, with instant interest being raised in the viewer by just showing a few tantalising (and in some instances quirky) glimpses into their lives.
I had an uncontrolable laughing fit and laughed out loud at a certain scene where the back story of Han Soo and Eun Hee is shown... Soooooo funny! I hope the humour will continue at this level but am afraid this might descend into focussing too much on the "first love" story angle...
Still, I can't wait to see how the storylines will develop further...

I just re-watched a few favourite scenes and have noticed that in Episode 1 Jang Hyuk sings two lines of an awfully familiar tune... It's the love theme from Chuno - The Slave Hunters !!! Or am I mistaken?.. I don't think so - because the cheeeesy crooney song got so much on my nerves... ;-) It *must* be the Chuno love song!!!! :-) I love these kinds of meta-jokes or Easter Eggs!!!!

Beautiful film. Funny/moving at first, then gathering more emotional heft. The ending is fantastic! I dare anyone to watch this without crying like a baby in the end....:-) So moving...

That re-union between brother and sister is almost unbearably moving...! Nobody 'does' emotions as Korean dramas do...
Get the tissues ready!
There are a lot of things I like about Goblin - but the OST is not one of them....
The music is only for the cheesiest of cheese fans that ever listened to cheesy music!! Sorry!
The lovey-dovey croony songs are so obtrusive they did spoil part of the fun of the show for me!
While the "Beautiful Life" tune that underscored the romantic scenes between the Goblin and his Bride was somewhat bearable, the "I love you" crooned in that sexy, hexy whispery ASMR tone by a female singer every fr***ing time the Grim Reaper gazed longingly at his love interest Kim Sun totally spoiled these scenes for me! As I watch with subtitles anyway I turned off the sound completely during these scenes as the exasperating music was so annoying!!
I'm probably in the minority here - but this female singer's voice drives me up the wall! It's totally incomprehensible to me how anyone could like this singing and song.
(But then - I also don't get ASMR - I find it creepy-cringy and silly as +*++. I'd rather listen to a cat purring any day!)

I'm crying so hard... yet another sh*tty ending... did Oct writers get together and thought: there are too many…
Agree with
- shitty ending
-too much anodyne, bland Mom
-convoluted plots

I did really enjoy the young ' manager' -however- constantly worried for Ji Cheol's health, training schedule, daughter... :-) That character injected some much-needed levity and comedy into this show.

i'm enjoying this. I watch anything that has daddy Jang Hyuk but this wife here is just unacceptable. She is so…
I agree. There is no chemistry between the married couple. I know the marriage is supposed to be on the rocks but there is so much physical distance between husband and wife ALL the effing time!!
They never seem to touch each other, not even a simple pat on the back, touch of hands, anything, really.... They seem to be miles apart - physically and psychologically.... That was so so weird. .. and made it difficult to believe in them as a couple. Difficult to understand why they would even stay together.
I loved the father-daughter-relationship - although that was also weirdly devoid of any kind of physical affection (apart from a few piggyback rides...). When she is terribly ill and he is saying his final good-byes, I was waiting for some kind of good-bye kiss or hug...!!!? But nothing - all he does is cradle her face in his hands... That was very dissatisfactory.
I don't know anything about PDAs in families in Korean society, but suspect there must be some kind of cultural reason for this physical distance... Maybe it's to do with some kind of moral code of what is okay to portray on Korean TV? I don't know... I find this lack of physical closeness between family members distressing...

I enjoy this drama immensely. Not only for the obvious reason of watching Jang Hyuk but also because of the two female detectives who are more competent and les sibmissive and docile than females are usually portrayed in Kdrama world.
Watching Jang Hyuk - who is known as an action man sitting so still and immobile in his wheelchair for the first couple of episodes is a revelation! And his vision is (supposedly) gone, too! I thought these scenes were amazing and demonstrated what a brilliant actor he is - because I was never not completely mesmerised by his performance and wanting to find out what Oh Hyun Jae was going to do or plan next.
The actor must have jumped at the chance to play this role as it is very much the complete opposite of what he is usually asked to play.
From action hero to 'Rear Window'... !! Who would've thought he had it in him to do this so well!?
