I don't agree. S1 the female lead was very confident with herself and her abilities in the beginning. She was…
Once again, thats the way the trauma is written for her.

In S2, the male lead REFUSED to do surgery because a father was trying to commit suicide with his children. Why? Because of his TRAUMA. A-Reum is related to Do in Beom, which we have established that In Beom's father is the President. A-Reum, probably just felt pressure because of the stakes and she was confident enough that she predicts or wants to be the next Kim Sa Bu in the next 20 years. A person with little confidence, just doesn't say that. Now I am disappointed that her only spotlight was really her and Eun tak's relationship but I digress.

I thought from the beginning that Eunjae was a very skilled surgeon, who had an unfortunate condition. I think she was anxious on her surgeries, but I think the bigger issue that she couldn't stomach the intestines' in the body or the gore. Hence, thats why Kim Sa Bu gave her digestive medicine, so she can digest through that in the OR. After she got that medicine from Kim Sa Bu , every scene she is confident in her abilities and she took every chance to be in that OR. Stop making this about the sex and focus on the bigger picture and the message that this drama is trying to send or has sent.

I liked this one and loved season 1, but overall I got really annoyed with the female lead in both seasons. They…
I don't agree. S1 the female lead was very confident with herself and her abilities in the beginning. She was fearless and sometimes crazy, hence mad whale nickname. Only after the horrific accident and wrist issues, she was held back. In S2, she apparently graduated 3rd in her class and every time she went into the OR, she gave it her all. In the end, they both got their feet back in the OR and thrived in the future. S1, went to work aboard in the US. in S2, Eunjae got called back to a main hospital. I think you are kind of missing the point of the drama. The point of Doldam is that patients and even the workers themselves have or had faced trauma.

In S1. Dr.Kim was disgraced as a doctor, Seojung blames herself for her boyfriend's death and hurts her wrist because of it, Dong Joo losing Seojung and his mom, having the wrong perspective on the world. In Beom always trying to please his father's expectations but failing and Yeon Hwa running away from her past. Do il, who lost his anesthesiologist duties, due to legal issues.

In S2. Eunjae not being able to perform in the OR, Woo jin being chased by loan sharks and losing his parents. Dr. Park failing his responsibility as a doctor, Moon Jung trying to live for his father and being tricked by his wife, Eun tak, apparently has a shady past, knowing friends who are in prision, and Hye Jin (female anesthesiologist), who had a table death patient and still not being able to get over it.

All these people were broken, but they came together as a team and overcame those traumas and that beautiful. Some of these traumas are less severe than others, yes, but they are all broken in their own ways. It showed these people how hard and unforgiving this world is. Doldam is the place of healing, love, and hope. Its the light in the darkness. I don't think the writers were trying to be misogynistic, they just went in that directions for their characters.

That's just my view.

Edit: Just finished the show last night. Liked S1 better than 2 imo
