Loved the drama and the constant highlight on He Yan's abilities. The sudden villainizing of Chu Zhao at the end was entirely unnecessary though.
He's someone who painstakingly collected evidence against his own master, because he wanted to stick to his principles. The end made him into a petty person who sacrificed his country.
I really enjoyed this drama as I felt that the shaman character was actually done well for once -- none of the overly loud and obnoxious portrayal of some works. My only gripe was I really wanted Yeori to have a cool moment. But every single time she sets out to destroy the ghost, her powers suddenly *give out* in the middle and Gangcheori flies in to save the day... I wanted Yeori to have an overpowered MC moment!
can someone share some insights. I think I've missed some small details in between the episodes 28-29. what happened…
ML's dad indirectly caused the death of FL's dad (and indirectly also led to FL being a performer/pariah)!
Gist: FL's dad disobeyed official orders in order to save citizens, ML's dad filed an impeachment case against him, FL's dad was exiled and died during exile, FL and FL's mom became registered performers.
So basically ML was feeling guilty for his dad's role in the disasters in FL's life
One of the rare dramas wherein I equally liked the FML and SML! A lot of people dropped this saying that it's boring but I really enjoyed it! Binged it for 2 days straight and loved it.
I rarely say this about cdramas, but I really wish that this was longer!! There were some scenes that I would have loved to see extended but because of the limited episodes, they had to cut them short. Transition between scenes also felt a bit choppy because of this. But despite this, it was great! Characters were all very lovable and the storyline was simple, fluffy, yet not boring. Perfect for those looking for a simple and sweet watch!
I would say it must be due to the cutting. They need to cut down the episodes. So, you would see some angst even…
I found it very weird as well! If they were going down the whole "the mother is the real murderer route", I wish they would have dedicated an extra 5 mins of LY finding out and coming to terms with it after QY left. Then at least a face to face "hi again" moment between the two instead of the weird telepathic reunion they had haha
Downgrading to an 8 just because of the completely unnecessary "twist" at the end. Don't know why so many of these types of dramas love to have an out of nowhere plot device at the END of a story (like in the last episode!) instead of wrapping everything up nicely.
It's great! It's not the in your face type of romance wherein the drama revolves around the two leads getting together but you do feel it <3 Plus points to the absolutely hilarious banter between the leads (this drama finally lives up to the "bickering couple" tag!)
I feel like this is the type of drama and vibe that Rebirth For You was trying to accomplish. Loving this so much! As long as the remaining 4 episodes don't shatter everything into the pieces, would definitely be giving this an 8.5 or 9.
Sets and costumes are greats, acting is top-notch, and the script is a mix of intriguing and funny as hell! Loving the quips and banter of the main leads <3
Dropping this at 11. Based on comments, it seems like things will pick up during the latter half but I can't get through the boredom of the first half to reach it.
Personally, I feel that it could have been a bit shorter (maybe around 30 eps?). Would have also enjoyed it much more without the main romance element oops 😅
But a really well made military show! The action scenes were all very well done (as compared to other shows with so obviously fake props or fighting/training scenes).
I'd say give it a try just for Ju Jingyi and Joseph Zeng's chemistry! Even when the "villains" were being particularly annoying, I forget about my frustration because of the main leads. Keep in mind that the entire point of this show is to showcase the domesticity of married life (the actors mentioned this in an interview) so don't expect any overarching themes or anything!
TLDR: Sure, there are annoying bits but the main leads and pretty outfits make up for it!
