#1It's his character, he kept his distance from everybody around him since ep 1 because he carried his own baggage,…
I wish I could feel those emotions you talk about... I mean it's OK the character being introverted is not really the problem. I just think it the emotions could have been better portrayed.
I haven't looked for answers because I don't want spoilers but my theory is that those people don't actually exist. But I don't think that's a good enough reason because it takes away all the enjoyment.
I don't know if it's because this is a western series remake or something but this drama has no tension. No emotion.
Male lead is just too passive and with little emotion. He feels static. He's not changing much, doing much. I've watched dramas that leads get obsessed and go crazy trying to solve a case and they show so many emotions... specially when it's a case where everything is so personal... but this one doesn't... He feels in a cage and not trying to get out of it.
Other characters besides him have no past, desires, goals, family, friends or just people they know, or you know, a life - at least a life outside of work. The only thing they ever do is work. They don't feel alive at all. I was hoping they would deepen characters with time, but I don't think that's gonna happen at this point. I mean, even the villain has reasons, a past, other people in his life, goals, again, a life, but other characters don't.
Also, I was hoping it would pick up some pace, and to feel like it's focusing more and more on the main plot - after watching like the last 15 minutes of episode 12 I got my hopes up again btw but until then I was waiting and waiting for this to happen. I mean, there were times when I got my hopes up again and again but the drama managed to kill them. But I mean, even though the cases are all related, it feels very much episodic. The sense of continuity is a bit broken. And that's why I think there's not so much tension as expected.
I was really excited after watching the trailers but I was in shock when I clicked on the first episode bc tbh this drama actually feels like one of those daily dramas bc of the small budget... I feel so betrayed...
Unfortunately as far as my knowledge in Chinese goes, I know little more than chinese imperial titles and a few VERY simple words... So my only hope is that it gets subbed...
So last night I decided to give it another chance just to be reminded of what made me drop it in the first place - the evil girl who married the main lead and her mother. Their only role is to be evil and make the female lead suffer from injustice after injustice. I mean, injustice can make a great story but those two characters make this plot so childish. It's disappointing.
I need him back to the sageukland!!! I loved him in Tree With Deep Roots and Gaekju and I'm also loving him in Shine Or Go Crazy!!! <3 This man is amazing... and his crazy laugh is just adorable!!!
