Is there anyone who watched more than 20-30 episodes? I'm currently at ep 17, and I'm considering dropping it because. This drama. Is. So. Frustrating. The first few eps were heavy (exhausting even), nothing like what the trailer suggested, but after the time skip, it hasn't improved much. Seolah, with a terrible personality, has the most screen time; her monster-in-law (who is equally abusive at home and at work) is not left behind either. And writers really want us to believe that Chungah's father won a gold medal in a sports competition before? Someone so lazy and leeching off of his wife for years has at some point trained hard enough to win first place?? I'd sooner believe all of his competitors got stomach flu that day... The script is really not the strongest point of this drama. And I'm used to long dramas, some of them are among my favourites (My Father is Strange or Once Again). I even finished some weekday dramas that are objectively more dramatic and makjang-ish than the weekend ones, but BLWL is seriously testing my patience. Is this drama getting any better in the near future? I think I'm gonna put this on hold for now, unless someone convinces me otherwise.
I randomly started this drama recently with zero expectations, and though I almost dropped it after first ep, I'm at episode 9 and really enjoying it! I was shocked by the plot twist in ep.8, it weirdly makes sense (maybe not logical, but the way kdramas plot twists make sense). The main leads might not be the greatest but aren't as annoying as I feared. My favourite so far is Detective Na, he's so no-nonsense, I thought he would be written as some dumb policeman, but he's definitely not! Please more of him!
gyujin's outburst at his mum at the end of episode 14 was incredibly satisfying omfg like I feel the tiniest bit…
Agree, she is so childish but also controlling, she is the least likeable character in the main cast for me. And I'm currently at ep. 54 and she has ZERO character development as of now. Did writer forget about her?
I recently finished "Sky Castle" and Jin Jin was one of my favourite characters (alongside her husband and son :). Oh Na Ra has great comic timing (I loved her impersonation of her co-stars) but also did well in dramatic scenes. It looks like I have another actress to look out for.
