Could someone please explain the Jinxui Workshop case to me? Maybe its because of the translation but I didn't understand why the Empress' summer clothes being late would result in the annihilation of an entire family, their workers and even the suicide of a Prince?!?! It seems like a such a minor thing....
I LOOOOVVVVEEE THIS DRAMA!!!! BEST DRAMA EVER!!!!! Every single thing about this show was absolutely perfect. no plot holes. no notes. I honestly cannot think of anything I would change - which is rare for me.... Easily in my top 5 faves of all time. And you know what the best thing about this finale was? the conflict was resolved within the first 5 mins and then its all the good stuff. 35 mins of pure, uncut, high grade FLUFF.
Okay, now that this terrible show is FINALLY over, who's gonna take one for the team and write the Ryu Shi Oh x Namsoon enemies-to-lovers fix-it fic???
If the writers want to give him redemption, they could make it work but they didn't. You forgot that Hwaja attempted…
You hit the nail right on the head. People are quick to forgive the hwaja but not ryu shi-oh, for one simple reason - they desperately want to increase the ml's relevance and they can only do so by elevating his "rightness" of being with namsoon and putting down shioh.
I'm sorry, people loved SGNS??? Are these people real or imaginary??? Just let it die, man. And honestly the only way I'd watch the sequel is if it for BWS's Rhyu Shi Oh's redemption story AND only if they got competent writers.
I'm seriously considering writing a fic giving this show the enemies to lovers that it should have. I don't know…
*take-all-my-money.gif* Please, please write the fic. If I wasn't such a terrible writer I would write it myself but alas some of us are more talented at reading than writing.
I didn't watch ep 14, just saw a few clips online - so she betrays him, breaks his heart, destroys the little trust he's beginning to develop and what do they expect? Him to be rational about it??? He cried!! Something he didn't do even when they were beating the shit out of him as a kid! Idgaf, i support him going psycho. Go on and be all murdery baby boy, I gotu! Oh and to all the people here trying to shame us villain supporters: relax, it's fiction, it ain't that deep. Some of us enjoy riding for the dark side.
At this point, one thing has become abundantly clear - the only thing worth watching on this shitshow is Ryu Shi Oh. Honestly I've never hate-watched a show, I just drop them cuz I have better things to do with my time. But I am actively hate-watching this show only because I am hoping against hope that the villain will get a happy ending (he won't because the writers suck and are not smart enough to pull it off). But hope springs eternal.
I'm broken. This drama broke me - and then put me back together. Honestly, one of the best dramas this year. Such beautiful writing, character development, acting - just the whole package. BUT the ending was too short!!! There's still so much story left to tell, so much more I NEED to know. I NEED cheong ha and yi chan: the College years! And I need to know what happened to my beloved Watermelon Sugar boys in the 28 intervening years (Especially Hyun Yul!!)! I needed more future happy Ha family content!!! And what happened to Eun yu and her family??? I NEED MORE!!!! Here's hoping (ie praying) they'll pull a My dearest and film an extra episode!!!
If Ryeoun and Choi Hyun Wook don't win all the awards for this drama, there is no justice in the world. I knew they were both good actors (CHW has been great since taxi driver and Ryeoun really shone in Secret Romantic Guesthouse) but the two of them have been absolutely PHENOMENAL in TW. Even the writers deserve all the awards! How they wrote such a tight, near perfect, plothole free time travel story is really amazing. I've only ever considered 12 Monkeys and Timeless as good time travel shows.
I just want to know - is Namsoon made of stone??? Like, if Shi-oh said the things he said, looking the way he looks, to ME, I woulda folded like a cheap paper plate and climbed him like a tree at the FIRST opportunity. Sorry, not sorry.
I will no say villain is the best and even if he got motivation, i can empathize with him, even that I agree with…
I didn't say he was the best, I said he was the most interesting, the most intriguing. See I'm okay with morally grey characters as long as the writers give them the proper character development. Those are the most interesting stories. Here, all the other characters don't seem to have ANY development or are poorly developed.
This is my first time commenting EVER, but I just couldn't take it anymore! WTF is WRONG with the writers, casting and directors of this show?!?!? The dialogue is amateurish, the plot events dumb, too much time is spent on side stories and even the motivations of the characters so one-dimensional.... But by far the WORST thing they did was make the most interesting character, with the most intriguing backstory, the villain. AND had the better (and hotter) actor play him. They gave the villain all the flashbacks so we understand his motivations and sympathise with him. whereas we still know NOTHING about the ml's past - except that he had a brother that died in the states (and I'm pretty sure the writers threw that in as a Easter egg to 20th century girl). There's 4 episodes left and I STILL can't understand why the fl is soooooooo in love with this average at best cop.... As problematic as the original Strong Girl Bongsoon was, atleast the main characters had scorching hot chem AND the interactions they had with one another were INTERESTING and kept us wanting more, ya know.... when the namsoon main leads are together it's just so....FLAT. Like tepid chem, cutsey dialogue that ust superficially touches their feelings, just overall underwhelming. Compare that to the original strong girl bongsoon - I can STILL visualise the couch conversation where he asked her to love him! And the conversation where she first called him minmin. AND the PIANO KISS! Oh and don't even get me started on the scene where he refused to leave her when she was attached to a bomb In conclusion - the namsoon writers suck, BWS should have been the lead or they should have done an alternative enemies to lovers plot for this show; and this is the hill I will die on! Sorry for the long-ass rant, loooolll.

Anyways, to all my villain-lover peeps, the ao3 tag for our murder boyfriend is up, if y'all feel like a fix-it fic or a palate cleanser or sexy villain times or whatever.
