Too Much sacrifice for love!
I watched it recently in Netflix and got me frustrated most of the time. I actually forwarded almost all episodes.. lol. Si Feng's sacrifice was just too much! I was also waiting for him to get that BIG redemption arc where he is this SUPER strong character that wipes out all the enemies, but until the end, he was still all about the FL, then poof! went into coma. The effects were great though & glad it was still a happy ending, coz I'd be really frustrated if Si Feng went through all that difficulties, then just dies at the end.. I just think the story should have been better, if they weren't torturing the ML most of the time. =D. It was an okay drama overall. Was this review helpful to you?

Took me back to my ISWAK days!
I've been seeing this drama in my Netflix recommended list for a while now, but I never really had the interest to watch it, thinking it would be exactly like all other youth dramas out there, until I found a story edit from you tube which made me check it out. Oh boy, I'm glad I did! Our FL looks soooo much ike Ariel Lin! The nostalgia while watching it since I remember the times I was too in love with ISWAK. Admittedly, this is a better drama though.1. The FRIENDSHIP! I think this is what stood out from all other youth CDramas out there. Usually, for friends in a group of 5, the 3 is involved in a love triangle, then the other 2 becomes a couple, or simply cast aside as the story goes. I'm soooo glad this is different. There was no love triangle, & the friends stayed together until the end. They were not just fillers as well. Each of them had their own interesting story. I'm not even sad Guan Fang has no love life. His story with his Grandma is the sweetest thing! Although the friendship story got a bit sidelined after they graduated high school & went their own ways, I'm glad they all got back to their hometown after college graduation.
2. The love!
Main love: This is another case of she fell hard, but he fell harder. I like how they started with friendship, then eventually evolved. Although I did get bored a bit when they finally got together. I like how different it is from the other HS crush drama where the FL loves the ML to the point of toxicity. Like their world revolves around the boy they love & disregarding everything else. For this one, Su Zai Zai gaveLu Rang space when he needs it, & she respects him even if she has always admitted how she has liked him from the start. Supporting him silently when needed. It wasn't cringy at all! I love how Lu Rang evolved from a silent, timid person, to someone who smiles & is not afraid to show affection when he can! These two are exact opposites that balance each other. They also look sooo cute together! Great, great chemistry!
Second OTP: Jiang Jia & Gu Ran definitely stood out as well! Although it took time for them to be together due to several miscommunications, & trying to preserve that friendship, I'm sooo glad they found each other in the end. The stolen stares, the petty jealousy, the accidental discovery of feelings. I just wish they got together the same time as our OTP so I got to see them more as a couple, but all good!
Guan Fang & Grandma: I mean, who needs a girlfriend when you've got the best Grandma in the world! having lost both my Grandmas, GF's story also touched me as it reminded me of how loved I was by my Grannies when they were still with us. I was scared with him when Granny got sick. I'm so glad there was no drama & angst to this show & all ended well.
3. Can I also mention how brave this show is to also portray our OTP living together before marriage? Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't remember watching any drama that actually showed this. Other shows are under a fake marriage contract, or co-parenting so they are "forced" to live together. But watching this surprised me when they decided to get an apartment together after college graduation. Although we already know they are end game, but I'm glad they portrayed this since it is a normal thing nowadays whether we agree or not. Bold move indeed!
This is one of the few who lingers on me after watching it. I was smiling all throughout the show! After watching The Worst of Evil, which brought me to a dark place, it is always refreshing to watch something light with no angst & no heavy drama! One of the best youth dramas out there!

The saddest story with a happy ending indeed
Oh, drama.. What have you done. I think I've only watched 2 titles that made me an emotional wreck after credits rolled: grave of fireflies, & miracle at cell #7. I've watched the Korean movie & the Filipino movie of this one, but this drama had a different & amazing interpretation of the story. I think they've focused more on what really happens to those people left behind once a loved one passed away, which is a nice touch.Definitely get ready with your tissues! I was extremely invested in An Yi Qi's story. Being a single mom myself, with a son who is also very much into dinosaurs, I feel like I am with her in her pain when Ken Le left. It's definitely something I can't even imagine happening to me or to anyone else. It's beautiful the way they showed how she coped after, the reality of missing the one you loved the most so much that you don't even know what to do, how Ke Le met with Po Han while in the "afterlife" after his surgery and asking him to take care of his mother.. these are just some of the scenes that made this drama stand out from all the other versions.
Of course the main couple: K & Cream's story. A love so big that you're willing to sacrifice your own happiness for that other person. I'm glad they were together until K's last breath. How Cream & K became family after losing both of theirs. A love so poignant and true, & so painfully beautiful.
I loved every episode & it's definitely something I'd still recommend even if you'll be an emotional wreck after. 😅💕.. the actors all did amazing to their roles. Although I don't think I'll have the courage to watch it again. This show for sure is one of the top dramas I've watched so far. 💓💓.

Are you still not convinced to watch this Gem? Maybe this will change your mind??
I'm usually that person who forwards most of the drama, especially if it goes up to 50-60 episodes! When I found this on IQIYI, the fact that is only has 29 episodes already got me. Boy was this drama a breath of fresh air!Reasons to watch:
1. The parents! Oh how many times have we watched a drama where the parents are the main antagonist of their children's happiness? This one was definitely different! The ML's parents were one of the best characters in the series. They were understanding, they listen, and they value family. They accepted our FL regardless of her background. FL's adoptive mother too was another great addition. They were all a big factor in our main couple's development as characters.
2. The other side characters - aside from the parents, everyone else has been interesting in the drama. The brother, although he fell in love with our FL, he was happy as long as our main couple are happy. There was no angst, or rivalry between him & FL. I'm glad he had a bit of a happy ending in the end where it was hinted that he might finally found the woman for him. FL's sisters, her doctor friend, her personal maid, the uncles & most especially ML's bodyguard (my favorite character, no doubt!). They all played a part in the story. They were funny, caring, & ready to protect our main couple at all times!
3. Great closure for the antagonists - amazing how the writers didn't just kill off the antagonists just to close out the story. Instead, they showed how karma works & that whatever bad thing you do, will definitely get back to you. The crazy maternal cousin & the 2nd son of the song family both got what they deserve.
4. Amazing chemistry - kisses, kisses, & more kisses! I'm always amazed in dramas with leads who have an amazing chemistry, where you don't even feel that you're just watching fiction. Their love & support for each other has been on point! It took a while before our FL finally realized her feelings for our ML, but boy was it worth the wait! The way he defends her, & explained how he loves her regardless of her background would make you swoon! When our FL encountered a problem at the near end of the series, our ML didn't force her to tell him just because they are husband & wife. Instead, he just waited until she is ready to confide in him, & silently helped his wife through that ordeal.. gaaah!!
Yes, there are small plot holes here & there, but honestly who's counting? Lol. The pregnancy thing though was more funny than annoying since the parents do question why her tummy isn't getting any bigger, but I guess they trust & cherish her so that it isn't even an issue. Although, yes, the fake pregnancy thing was the main reason ML's mother got mad at our FL, for a moment.
Now, if you're still hesitant to watch it, I say go ahead & press play! It's just 29 episodes too so no draggy plots in here. 😊😊

Should have been a perfect 24 -episode series!
Mental health has honestly been a taboo topic, so I'm glad it's getting more recognition now & even being incorporated in movies & dramas. The chemistry of both leads is amazing! Hu yi tian has definitely gotten better in his acting & our Tang xin - what a blessed girl to have been paired with 2 tall, great looking lads! (Re: PYHOMS). There were some draggy parts unfortunately. Although it was good to show what really happened in the past, I don't think it's necessary to take a whole 38 episodes for our ML to figure it out & remember what really happened. I think this would have been perfect if it was 24 episodes, with no unnecessary story fillers.. I was honestly bored & fast forwarded some parts. Great job to the cast though, & the ost was good too!Was this review helpful to you?

Beautiful story, & amazing chemistry of not just the lead stars, but all characters in general!
Writing this review while watching the drama again for the 1000th time! Not gonna lie, I was hesitant to watch it at first, then as the show progressed, it made me more interested & invested in the story. What a beautiful love these 2 leads have! They fell in love not because one was forced to, but because they actually spent time with each other, until the love naturally bloomed! Aside from the fact that they are "connected", which made a big impact on their relationship as well.I like that this drama has no obsessed third party characters & not 60++++ episode long. The God of war who was FL's other supposed love interest, even became Moon Supreme's friend! I admire FL's love for our ML. **spoiler - That EPIC scene at the desert where she was about to sacrifice herself & reminiscing her master's words about love definitely got to me! Their scenes together would always give you heart a flutter.
Dylan Wang's acting here is a plus. His acting range definitely improved since his meteor garden days. His crying scenes are superb. You can feel his pain & cry with him. Even the swapping bodies scene was amazingly made! Give this drama a chance, & I assure you, you won't regret watching it. Yes, of course every review is an opinion of its own, & I understand some might not like it. But for those looking for something new & different to watch, this is it for you. =)

Unpopular opinion. I TRIED, I Really tried!
Oh Drama! I was so excited when this came out since Yi Ran looked too fine in all those teasers and edits. Unfortunately, it was not my cup of tea.I finally realized how fangirling can be. I never imagined I'd find a drama I had to finish because of the ML. BaoBao looks amazing in here as well, and their chemistry was too good! It wasn't enough to save this, though. I was already 17 episodes in, and I'm still honestly confused about what the world was going on. It was honestly frustrating, but whoa, I kept going! This show tried soooo hard to portray Mu Qing Yan as the ultimate anti-hero, only to actually sacrifice himself ALL THE TIME for our FL. This reminds me of the drama, Love and Redemption. Then I was again waiting for that GRAND FINALE where our ML would unleash his greatest power and finally achieve that revenge he has been plotting all this time, but pooof! another sacrifice, then killed him off in the end. My jaw was literally on the floor during that final episode. Then I was like, " That's it???? Then BAM! they sent him back, resurrected with whatever explanation they gave on why his poison actually disappeared. I honestly had to rewatch that scene coz I was sooo frustrated the first time.
Don't get me wrong, the cast did amazing! Some CGI scenes were a bit bleh, but most of them are actually a feast for the eyes! I think it was more of a pacing and story issue. There were too many flashbacks that I didn't even know who was who or what character was doing what. Trust me, I was THAT confused! LOL. I'm still excited for YiRan and BaoBao's future projects, though. This one, I guess, is just not really for me.

Brotherhood, loyalty, family, love, karma! Enemies to lovers done absofudginglutely RIGHT!!
Warning - Several spoilers ahead!I started this drama without any expectations. I just came across a TikTok edit about strong FL in dramas, and Li Qin caught my attention, so I actually purchased a VIP membership on IQIYI to watch it. Boy, was that worth it!
This is such an underrated Gem! While reading about it, they say it got more popular months after it was released, which actually deserves more! I know the enemies-to-lovers trope has been a common theme in dramas, but this one definitely takes the cake!
I did have hesitations when I saw that CZ was the male lead here. Since reading the synopsis, it says ML is a so-called killer, ruthless general/first prince. I was like, how will a pretty-boy actually portray that one? Well, he honestly did a good job here. Although yes, he still is a pretty boy, but man can definitely command the screen every time he's in it! He did great even in his fight scenes, and yes, it actually makes you believe he is a ruthless killer, too! His stance, his walk, his aura scream Boss right there!
Let's talk about Li Qin as the red-clad female general Fu Yuxiao. Oh boy! or rather, oh girl! I have been watching Cdramas for a while now, and I can tell you this is definitely how you make a strong FL. Fu Yuxiao just hits ALL the check boxes right there. She is strong, capable, smart, and knows how to speak her mind. She even confessed first, and I was like, yes girl! Some say she looks "old" for this role, which I definitely disagree with, because I can't imagine any other actress who could be Fu Yuxiao. The character needs a mature, strong woman, and Li Qin is perfect for this one. I can go on and on about Fu Yuxiao, and I really want to thank the writer and director for creating this rare FL.
The chemistry! Another thing I loved about this drama is how both FL and ML respect each other. He lets her do her thing and just sends someone to watch her from afar, but not to the point where he always feels the need to protect her. Vice Versa, where she also lets him do his thing without interfering. But when they are together, especially during fight scenes, it is an amazing watch indeed! I love how she is always shown behind him, protecting him. I love her stance when holding that bow and arrow, ready to shoot at anyone who wants to hurt her man! How she is always behind him, protecting him. You are just rooting for this couple even before they realize their feelings for each other. How they went from trying to kill each other to being each other's most important person.
The brotherhood and loyalty! Even the side characters here are done right. How ML's right-hand men are perfectly loyal to him. Goosebumps during that scene in the final eps where Feng Battalion announced their support to him. How his men are willing to give their lives for their prince, and how the prince is also more than willing to give his life for his men! He always says he was displaced since he was a child, and his time in the Feng Battalion really made him realize what it means to have a family. Can I also say how well they wrote the siblings trope! Especially with the stepbrother. In other dramas, siblings fight each other to the death, betraying each other for the throne. But since this is our drama done right, I love how love and trust prevailed. I was initially scared that ChengYang might stray to the wrong path, but I'm glad they stuck to him being an amazing brother at the end. Even the three heroes of Jinxiu. I did get sad when Ning Fei and Yu Xiao had to k*ll Wei Ran in the end. He accepted his fate, knowing his loyalty to the prince was greater than his friendship.
The Villains! Oh boy. Our poor ML, who never gets a break. As soon as he gets his revenge, another problem arises and forces him to fight again. For this show, though, I understand some of the villain's point of view on why they had to do what they did. Except for Yao and Xia Jing Shi, who are just rotten people through and through. LOL. That final fight scene between Sui Ge and Jing Shi was definitely something! Pretty boy vs. pretty boy trying to kill each other, and I was like, Dang Yu Xiao, such a lucky girl! Every villain in this story got their karma, and it's a well-deserved ending for each of them.
Wheeew, Such a long review! I do have a lot more to say, since it's been a while since I've watched a drama this good, but for you reading this, I hope you give it a chance. Although I DID skip the scenes with Xiyang, the 2nd prince and the emperor of Jinxiu, as it's not my cup of tea. Overall, it's highly, highly recommended!!

Another Gem Indeed!
I am probably really late to the party. This has been all over my X app fyp, however, i never got the chance to watch it until this month. And boooooooy I'm glad I did. Although it never really got me in the first few episodes, then came episode 13, and baaaam! I was hooked! The one thing that stood out to me was its similarity to Love Between Fairy and Devil, so I checked whether it was made by the same production company, and actually, it was made by the same author!
How I love the fact that our heroine is such a feisty warrior, but can also transform into a lovesick puppy when with her man! Ming Yi is such a charm. She can fight an army, yet she does not hold back when it comes to Ji Bozai. She speaks her mind, and always finds a way for both of them to survive their ordeal. The actress is definitely perfect for this role!
Oh, Ji Bozai! Our hero so pretty, that is even prettier than our heroine sometimes. LOL! I love how he always tried to sacrifice himself for the greater good, but our heroine is like, Heck no! We're both strong, and I know we can survive together! I swoon over how he protects Ming Yi, even after the time she hurt him. The moment when he finally figured out that his wife might be Ming Xian is peak cinema! Hou Ming Hao was made for this role. Fight scenes or romantic scenes, this man can carry them all!
Oh Situ Ling! How I loved him in the first few episodes. It's a pity that he got tooo obsessed with Ming Yi, to the point that he had to be Evil. The good thing about this story is that even the villains became villains because of traumatic/bad childhoods. Even with Ming Xin or Mu Qu Bai. They are like the typical other sibling who always gets compared to the better, more intelligent, or stronger one. So they had to resort to wrongdoing to be "seen".
All characters in this drama are actually in sync! The Empress had an amazing character development arc. And, of course, those two lovely immortal companions! Bu Xiu! The MVP! I love how he just goes to Ming Yi and tells her everything when Ji Bozai was dying, which saved us an episode of angst.
If you miss Love Between Fairy and Devil, this is for you. However, this show also has its own unique charm that sets it apart.
The only negative thing I've read about this drama online is that the story is too shallow. But then it's a drama made to entertain viewers, and based on its success, I think it's definitely done a great job. Not every drama needs to be a heavy, complex psychological thriller to be "good." Sometimes, the most successful shows are the ones that provide a perfect escape, a bit of comfort, or just pure fun after a long day. If a show manages to capture a massive audience and keep them talking, it has clearly tapped into something people actually want to watch!
