Thank you LuK & Mir :) I'm currently on episode 41 and trying to resist the urge to fast fwd the parts w/the elders. It's like they squished together all the angsty feelings of "Ashes of Love", "Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms", and "The Journey of Flower" here. Great drama, but you can't help feeling sorry for the ML... really really sorry.

As much as I love this drama, the number of misunderstandings are overwhelming and frustrating. (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻

Yes, I totally LOVED Arsenal Military Academy and it is my least favorite genre. Please don't miss out, especially if you want to see how good she is in the fight scenes. It's one of my favorites that she's in.

There'a Cnovel called "Hidden Marriage" that is in the talks to be made into a drama. After seeing Bai Lu in AMA, she would be so damn good in that role.

I'm only on episode 8, but looking at the character chart in Photos, I wondered why her assistant was listed as "enemy" (via Google translate).

Very much agree with the other two replies. Bai Lu's got that endearing swagger and domineering FL act down. Her screen presence is amazing and charismatic. Cannot wait to see her upcoming dramas and hope she'll eventually be in movies.

Has anyone read the novel this Cdrama was based on? I'm curious if they followed the book and the ending was the same.

That's true. It's sort of like reading a book that people rave about and trying to figure out what all the hype is. It's mostly curiosity.

No apologies. It was like reading my thoughts on someone else's post. I'm very much trying to like it and give it a chance but fast fwding through much of it.

So far, up til episode 12, the FL does not have fighting skills and seems to have some trauma when it comes to swords...there was a brief flashback of something that may have happened when she was a child. She's definitely strong-minded, but kind-hearted in the way she watches over the less fortunate. You may find her character crass and obnoxious, but it's done so comically ... She isn't as domineering and kick-ass as Bai Lu's character in "The Legends", but that swagger and smirk are there.

Did you watch "Legend of Fuyao"? The male lead could literally have walked off the set and onto this one. Style and mannerisms are similar (cold, tsundere w/the cliched aversion to women). In episodes 11 & 12, he does warm up a bit.

I'm still enjoying for entertainment purposes, but it is definitely more comedy now than action/romance/melodrama..

Absolutely adore Bai Lu, but they made her character comically obnoxious here. I suspect we'll see things get more serious later into the drama.

While she hasn't shown fighting skills, I'm glad they didn't make her character completely weak and helpless.

My apologies, forgot to hit the spoiler button. I'm sorry it ruined "Goblin" for you. Hope you don't have to deal with such disappointment and hurt again in your life.

I seriously hope this one doesn't end like Goblin. I don't want one of them to die and wait for whoever to reincarnate.

Are you also watching "Love Is Sweet" w/Bai Lu and Luo Yunxi? If you're looking for chemistry, that one definitely has it. I also love the cast of Jiu Liu Overlord and waited what felt like a long time for it to air. It's definitely on the silly side and the male lead is the tsundere type w/an aversion to women in the beginning (common trope). Expecting it to get more serious further into the drama.

I need to buy more eye cream and ice packs for these swollen eyes..
