This drama ruined other dramas for me. I now keep looking for the damn chemistry between the leads and I'm not feeling it with most of what's currently airing.
I think her acting is fine, it's just the characters and scripts she gets are so bad. Like Bai Youning is annoying…
Have to agree that her character is poorly written, or rather the character's extreme desperation is unappealing. Her makeup and hair is also a tragedy, BUT, this is not a reflection of the actress who is actually really good in other roles she's been in.
I absolutely LOVE that the FL is level-headed and not a silly idiot. Also so happy that both females here are kind, intelligent and capable. XBM is a goofy, lovable character, too. Hope we get a happy ending for all of them.
Adored little sister the most out of the whole cast. Did not have second lead syndrome at any point of this Cdrama and was surprised at how I found the ML to be adorable from the middle to end. Enjoyed the happy ending, but there wasn't enough "face slapping" of the villains to be satisfied.
I had to skip/fast fwd through the last 12 episodes and still felt exhausted by the circle of scheming at the end. Glad it ended "happily", but by the final episode found I wasn't so invested in the main couple. Instead, found that I really liked the side couple better even if didn't have a long storyline together.
Really hoping to see them paired in another drama together and don't even care which genre... though they're both beautiful in historic attire.
