yes, Lueying does become king. for the sad ending, watch til episode 48 (everything is good, then he dies abruptly) // for the happy ending, go directly to episode 54 which is the same as 48, but ends while everything is good and not abrupt death.
episodes of 49 - 53 are the back story to the Counselor, Yunxie (masked guy), and the Empress while they were young and how it all went down.
first two episodes subbed on 4udrama and dramacool.

I'm on episode 4 and have to agree. Not so much her appearance, but the lead actress' expressions and acting remind me of Dilmurat Dilraba. It's flat and her reactions seem slow.
