The second male lead, Zhang Hao Wei, who had an alleged scandal in 2024, which he was cleared of at the end of 2025. According to iQiyi's cast list, he's been replaced with Li Xin Ze.
@[deleted] Actually, ZHW was cleared almost immediately of tax evasion by the government. It was his 'scumbag' alleged friend producing audio of him talking about running a prostitution ring that got him cancelled. He had to take his 'friend' to court for defamation and prove that the audio was fake; I'm betting, ironically, it was made with AI.
We don't know when Tencent / Wanda Pictures chose to replace him with AI, but it makes sense it was sometime before he was cleared in court in December 2025. Someone below even said he paid for the AI replacement.
The legal process is probably in his contract. Many of them have a morality clause. These cancellations are from the government, not the public, precisely because they are 'enforcing' decent morals, so no, boycotting has zero effect on those government actions, especially from foreigners.
He's not the only one to suffer because of his scandal. Wang Churan had nothing air for that same year, either. Who knows what happened to investors. And the main producer ended up leaving Wanda Pictures, though of course, we don't know the exact reason.
