Hahah yes just impressions. It really depends on who is saying it and how it comes across to every individual. I'm half hokkien half canto so they feel the same to me.
Haha maybe hokkien is associated with the ah bengs and cuss words here while canto is heard in hk movies aka movie stars. So i guess it sets the impression too. 🤣🤣🤣
I wonder what kind of experience they have when watching the final drama. Imagine seeing these characters everyday and then seeing them on tv later. It should be difficult to immerse totally cos it's like watching their friend.
There was a snippet some time ago with one music producer (?) saying that an 80 point song will become 90 points just by singing it in Canto and everyone agreed. Canto has more tones but not the 4th tone in Mandarin, which is the harshest. So it sounds more soothing when it comes to love songs. Just some titbits: Mandarin is also known as guanyu cos it is the official language in Cn. Cantonese is 粤语yueyu or 白话baihua and is the most spoken after mandarin. It is also the 2nd official language as it is used in HK, macao region and overseas universities. Hokkien on the other hand is most similar to the ancient Chinese spoken languange. That's why so many Japanese (and korean?) words sound like it.
Goody Saturday! I couldn’t finish ashes and LIS.. the former is too sad 🥶and the latter is too sweet. 😝however…
For AOL, I only watched the runyu bits after a few episodes. I really didn't like the ML and it was 60 episodes long. I must have missed a lot of runyu scenes cos I was skipping so much. Now I don't think I can go back cos TTEOTM has upped the standards so much in visuals.
They are in order of appearance in the show. Some commented that these are SongYis characters and then a play on JXBs face blindness to keep them a mystery for now. But I'm pretty sure i have seen them in bts already. Hahaha

I'm glad they made them learn a bit of the instruments. I find it so cringey whenever any actor pretends to play an instrument cos they always look sooo fake. It spoils the entire scene for me. Sorry I also hated the scenes with LSS/YXW playing the harp with jiggly strings. 😝😝😰😰😰 Love Yuanshuai on the keyboard cos it wasn't faked.
Shine on face=korean, shine in hair= jap, shine on body = chinese. 🤣

Goodnight!
