Didn't live up to my expectations. I thought there was going to be some real romance, not just left up to the kids. I stayed until the middle of the last episode.
I agree with everything by the poster below me. It was ridiculous but entertaining. I try to watch High and Low and find it to be so tedious and confusing with all the factions or gangs, I can't keep up, nor do I want to. Well, actually since I've tried to watch a few times, I guess I kind of do want to. I initially watched and stayed mainly for Suzuki.
I was enjoying the first episode, but then I started getting anxious and disturbed by the plot. Some of the hairstyles I saw were quite horrific and amusing.
Had no interest to keep watching after I saw the eccentric personality of the lead. A little too juvenile for me, maybe appeals more to high schoolers, young or old people who like light, fun tone to the bl. I prefer more mature, serious stories. There's something for everyone. I so wanted to continue for Sato's face though.
I like both actors, especially Lee Dong Wook, and Wi Ha Joon is cute. That's usually enough for me to start a drama and give it a chance, but I didn't care for the twist or how they're related to each other to continue. I wish I had an interest.
So episode 4 is the first time I'm noticing dimples on Fumiya. Both men are obviously attractive, but Ritsu's definitely more my style. But as the show is progressing, seeing Fumiya be so considerate, and gentle with Ritsu and just his overall demeanor, he's becoming more appealing.
Yeah, the Adam's apple is really noticeable in episode 6, but otherwise looks like a girl. I like they use a man. In Alice in Borderland Kuina is trans, but the role was given to a woman and it's obvious, I mean no signs of former man.
Ritsu continues to be perfect and beautiful. What bothers me about the show is the expressions on Masumi and less for Yuma. It's annoying when he's trying to emote tension, nervousness, confusion etc., overacting much. I've watched a good amount of Japanese series/movies (I prefer and now watch bl from Japan) and I know the acting can be suspect but I've never got that with Ritsu (I know he's supposed to be cool, calm and collected). The scenes where they hold their exaggerated expressions are so cringe and ridiculous. I don't remember having this issue with Seto in Senpai but maybe I just forgot or maybe it's because I primarily focused on the other main lead, which is why I finished the show. I am also watching for Ritsu (Nakata), and if he was not in it, I would not continue watching.
This remains a delightfully quirky series for me, staying true to the Japanese culture for innovative storytelling.…
I agree completely, especially with Ritsu. He knew about Ritsu's reputation from his club member. I know he might've thought things were different between them since he told him he loved him, but he could've told the women he was with he loved them as well. He never said they were exclusive. Ritsus's only mistake with Masumi for me is that he handled him too abruptly and harshly when he was trying to come back and apologize. But you can't dictate how someone responds to you , especially when Masumi blew up at him when he was trying to take responsibility.
I mean the story is still interesting, but I would prefer more of the main couple, which is what made it exciting in the beginning. But you can see how they're becoming closer through the other characters. I think they could have still had this growth in their relationship and each other coming to terms with the end of the world without those other two. But I don't think Masumi would have given Ritsu the opportunity to make amends without Yuma being around.
