Can someone spoil it for me? I know it’s a sad ending but what makes it sad? I’m emotionally vulnerable and…
I would describe it as a bittersweet ending. No one dies, but definitely expect to cry. For what it's worth, I cried more in the middle than at the end. Overall a very emotional film.
This series is the most all the time overrated BL series. It does not deserve what it is currently rated in here.…
My best guess is Mark Jaeger is reacting to "childish and immature" portrayal of characters by 20- something actors. He has a point, but would 16/17 yo actors have been able to convey the depth and range of emotions as well as Bilkin and PP? In my opinion letting obviously older actors play younger characters is a small price to pay for masterful storytelling.
Qing Ming and Bo Ya are clearly in love with each other as a gay couple. It gives new meaning to the master's prophecy that Qing Ming would find his true self. The producers went as far as they could representing a gay couple without being censored by the Chinese authorities.
I feel like I skipped season 1.5. Season 1 ended with Tin and Pete. Where are they now? Apparently Techno has a boyfriend now and it's not Champ. I have no idea who he is. Fiat is thrown into episodes 2 with no introduction and we don't see Leo until episode 3. I'm afraid all these side stories won't make sense until the final episode.
I watched this last night and like most people I cried at the end. This morning I realized, wow, the ending is actually really cheesy. It's a testament to the team that they can make a really cheesy ending seem beautiful and fit perfectly with the story.
We are experiencing the golden age of BL dramas. The number of quality new releases this fall is overwhelming. Thailand pioneered the genre and now that other countries are trying to get on board (notably the Philippines) , Thailand takes it to a whole new level with this series. I could imagine this was originally intended for theatrical release and those plans were scrapped due to Covid. Netflix missed out on a big opportunity to snap it up.
I had very low expectations for this series, but so far the first three episodes have been really good. Very interesting and imaginative stories, even if the production quality is limited.
