How could it have nothing to do with popularity? Su Changhe had more scenes than Mu Yumo. From beginning to end, Su Changhe felt like the second main lead. I’m not bothered by that, but you can also tell from the drama’s comments that the ranking is related to popularity.

I don’t know exactly, but I think it is a remake of Gu Long’s 2007 drama The Legend of Lu Xiao Feng. However, in that version, Ximen Chui Xue was the first lead role, while Lu Xiao Feng was the second main lead.
In this drama, though, Lu Xiao Feng (Gong Jun) has been introduced as the first lead, and Ximen Chui Xue (Zheng Ye Cheng) as the second main lead. The script may have been rearranged and could progress differently. Or maybe—I’m not sure.
