You, @jumpthefence, and me all need emotional therapy man. Although the story was by no means perfect. The chemistry…
Agree with the subtitle, I find the subtitle from KA as conservative maybe because they got it from DS. And even LG got their subs from DS also so it is just the same. Muse has the most accurate subs, but the access is very limited. I still remembered how I stayed up to wait for 1am for the upload of recent episodes in YT (my country is 1hr ahead from Thailand). I haven't discovered ch3 app during that time. I was able to watched from their app when it's already ep7 I think. First time for me to live stream a drama without understanding anything (lol). I felt I broke up with my bf when the lakorn ended. And until now I still bug montha (the good soul) because of Tien and Moie. I'm rooting for the lakorn version of Ri and Mon's story.
First, I love that it ended well for them...However, here are my concerns and unanswered questions:1. Kidney transplants…
I'll answer your concerns as much as I can. 1. Kidney transplant lasts more than 20 years depending on how the patient takes care of herself. Some didn't even last for more than 5 yrs and anti rejection meds should be taken religiously for a lifetime. Kidney donor can be anyone as long as you have the same blood type. What is wrong in the drama is when the doctor said that since they have a child so Tien's a possible donor. (there is no medical proof on that, or so I thought, maybe the translation is wrong too). Also, they made it looks like you will die right away when you have kidney failure. Yes, dialysis is hard and exhausting but still there is life with it. They should have helped in giving awareness about the treatment to give courage for Kidney Failure patients. But this is drama, so make it more dramatic. 2. They didn't mention the name of the kids but in the book, their names are Narin and Thirin. 3. I'm not sure if Moie signed the divorce paper it was not mentioned but Tien said in ep13 to Aunt Phrapa that even though they got Divorce it doesn't mean that he doesn't love her. In the book, when Moie left him when he's drunk (ep10), she handed him the divorce paper with her signature together with the marriage certificate. 4. I'm also looking for a therapy... lmao.. I'm so emotionally invested with this drama and I can't move on from Tien and Moie until now.
Sameeee. I initially liked the first 3 eps before all this hacker BS came about. I doubt a person can change her…
I hope you can hang on this drama until the very end. There is a reason why Tien's mom is forcing him to get married to Moie and paying her 10 million baht for the divorce. You'll find them in ep13. Moie is a smart girl, but infront of Tien she's clumsy and naive because she really likes him but she's clever all along it's just Tien doesn't know it because he doesn't focus on people. Like he has his own world. Even Ri testifies on Moie's character. She maybe hopeful that Tien will reciprocate her feelings maybe because on how Tien keeps on caring for her. Like instead of moving on, her feelings for him gets deeper and deeper. After the hacking and throwing her into tiger's den (aka Pondayt and Thada), she is willing to let go. That's why she applied for a Master's degree abroad. Part of it maybe she wants to get better for Tien but personally I think it's because she realized that Tien will not look at her differently. Last 3 episodes is a new Moie. She became mature and more determined.
Many say that the female lead is weak/ submissive but I would like to differ, she's sassy and shines in her own…
Thanks for saying this. I really want to depend her character since I find Moie very clever, tricky & determined. I always smile when she has simple revenge over Tien’s rudeness. And her love knows no boundaries. Like you I became a fan of Mew. I just knew her through this lakorn. She’s a great actress and she portray the character development of Moie very well. I laughed with all her embarrassing moments and cried when she cries.?
omg i know right. honestly the acting and settings and stuff are really good in this drama and even the story…
Lol.. I feel your frustrations. I really like this lakorn but I must admit that it has a lot of loopholes. And after rewatching it over and over again that I can finally decode it myself since the editing is really bad. Their highschool is like this... Moie is a junior transferee in Tien's school. Their mothers are friends both came from Phuket but Moie grew up with her dad's hometown then moved back to Phuket when he died. On Moie's 1st day in school she got lost and asked a group of students but got bullied, Then Tien came in to rescue her, she didn't see his face but she heard that he is the Student Council President. Then at Aunt Jee's house she accidently broke the pot which is a school project of Tien then he shouted at her and she got scared. Moie then learned that Aunt Jee has two sons, P'Ri and the scary Tien. In the school, they have this mentor - mentee set up for juniors and seniors. Like, if you share the same student number in the classroom. Moie and Tien’s number is the same which is 349. (In the novel, it is more of like a secret admirer then you have to give him/her a gift, instead of gift Moie sent him homework). Pass forward, at Aunt Jee’s house Moie learned that Tien’s real name is Tierawat. Then came the school fair Moie and Toom looked for the names of the mentors they shared the same number with, then they learned that Moie’s mentor is Tierawat who is the Student Council President (her crush) but also Aunt Jee’s scary son. Since she is scared of him already, she asked someone to pass on her gift which is hand knitted scarf. But the messenger pulled a prank and give Tien a different gift, a fake snake. Moie found out that the gift received by Tien is different and Tien is on his way to Registrar’s office to complain for pulling a prank on him. Afraid, that she will get reprimanded, she tried to stopped him, explaining the throwing water part (which I don’t think is needed in the drama, like why does she need to pour water on him?) So, from then on, Moie felt that Tien will not like her because of what happened. But because Aunt Jee always complain about Tien with Moie’s mom. And somehow Moie listened to them attentively. At first, she is a little scared but after some time she laughed happily at whatever she heard about Tien. She found him irritating yet adorable. From then on, she started to get clumsy every time she sees Tien or hear his voice. And her feelings for him grow and grow until they live in the same house in Bangkok. Imagine seeing your crush everyday and living in the same roof with him. What is lacking in the drama is Tien’s POV, they didn’t give much details on it. Like all of a sudden, he has feelings for her mentee before. From what I understand, he didn’t know that Moie and Nateerin are the same person, because he is someone who does not care about people around him. He thinks of Moie before as his little sister. He just learned that his mentee and Moie are the same when he read her Diary. She is the bob cut girl who spikes his curiosity because she keeps on sending him her homework.
In the novel, they were introduced to each other when Moie is preparing to go to University unlike in the drama, Tien has to send her to school everyday in Highschool.
Some flashbacks of their childhood are Ep2, Ep7, Ep13 and Ep15.
I liked this drama but boy were there twists. They definitely have chemestry but I still have beef with those…
Sorry for riding in the conversation. I think the plot twist was because they tried to have a different ending from the book, which made this lakorn a bit dramatic and tragic in the end. Some of the inconsistencies happened when they tried to divert from the book that even the timeline doesn't match at all. But the director said that she wants to show that "Love is not a word, Moie who is secretly inlove for a long time doesn't receive the answers if he loves her for real and how come it is a short period of time to love or he is just trying to repay the favor". Since they want to show us all of that they went to the plot that he has a crush on her first. I do not say it was love, maybe some kind of feeling that makes his heart flutter. But, since he happened to know that Moei and Nateerin are the same person in Ep3, they should have showed us that his feelings started to grow again from Ep4. But we are trapped with the whole hacking situation which made Thien forgot about her as Nateerin. (am I making sense?)
Thank you for the article. I registered here in MDL because of this drama. I really love this lakorn, I watched it live without understanding what they said and honestly I keep on re-watching random episodes until now before going to bed (I left my TV on with Moie & Thien in the screen). I agree with you that this drama is really a gem (well for us). Moie's character is very different to those clumsy girl being paired up with smart male lead. She is badass, smart and determined and Mew really portrayed it well. Her facial expressions always shift especially when she bickers with Thien. She has a lot of tricks in her sleeves. And Mark really did well here. His gaze and smile really caught me (and his shirtless body.. lmao). His actions is very different from what he said so you have to read him well. He maybe rude but he cares. What is really good in this lakorn is the overflowing chemistry of Mark and Mew. Objectively speaking, it has a lot of flaws and loopholes. Specially when they tried to divert from the book, the timeline is confusing and the editing is a bit draggy. But those imperfections are filled by Mark and Mew's chemistry. And until now I am wishing for them to be paired up again.
I stumble with this lakorn while we are in lockdown because of pandemic. At first I was hesitant to watch it since the synopsis said that they are brothers & sisters (like Moie is an adoptive daughter) which is really misleading and glad that they edit it out. I decided to give it a try, at that time only ep1 is being released. Now, I am very thankful. I didn't know Mark & Mew before, I haven't watched any of their works. But now I am one of their fans. Their chemistry is overflowing in this lakorn that I even forgot they have their own relationship in real life. More than a month has past and I am still hooked with it, watching random episode during bedtime. There are some loopholes and the editing is poor but Mark & Mew's chemistry fill it up. I can't even choose my favorite scene since there's a lot of choices. It was such an emotional roller coaster ride. You will get mad, cry, and giggle with them. Mark's expressive eyes, smile and hot body is plus+. (Like I can't count how many times he took his shirt off). Mew's acting is superb, like she always got me with her tears, I keep on crying with her. Some said that Moie (Mew's character) is annoying, but I do not feel the same. Moie is such a badass lady which is very fresh for me. She's not your typical clumsy girl being paired up with smart-rich-handsome guy. She's clever, naughty and has lot of tricks in her sleeves. She knows what she likes and she's determined. Meanwhile, Thien is very hard to read (like I think he himself doesn't know what he truly feels) He maybe rude, arrogant and snob but still he cares (like he cares a lot). Side characters are very well portrayed especially the Gang and Thien's supportive family (Aunt Jee is the best mother in law). This lakorn is now my favorite, it has all the substance in the drama I am looking for. And personally it has deep impact with me. I can keep on talking about it over and over. I hope Mark & Mew will be paired up again. They really nailed this lakorn.
I am on hiatus on watching Kdramas and Cdramas as I am currently trapped with a thai drama, My Husband In Law. For me it is the complete package I am looking for a drama. Started watching Thai drama 5 yrs ago, to name a few Fullhouse, You’re my Destiny.. etc. I think what I like with thai dramas, they have this type of humor that will let you laugh out loud. They are also not shy on doing skinships. Also, majority of the thai dramas lead actors has great chemistry. Even you paired them with others they still click. Downside of watching thai dramas, some have abuse, violence, rape... so if you are sensitive with this kind of issues, better look for some info of the drama you choose to watch.
