Bruh can't you see the tag "Japanese colonial rule" ? As much as I've hate to say it, but what shown in ths drama…
Ik me too. As you can see from my pfp I like animes over kdramas tbh but have to agree the japs really commited some hideous crimes. Heard some koreans say that the Japanese government still haven't admitted to some of their crimes but anyways I'm glad atleast its peaceful now
So I've been holding off this drama for a very long time and I finally watched it. I keep trying to convince…
Imao agreed. Loved Ueno Rie & was glad to see that she didn't died (but still hated the fact at how she turned her back to Katsuyama. Guy deserves more than he got). Welp anyways as a weeb I'm more or less used to see my fav charas die so anyways, I was mostly unhinged throughout the whole sad moments of this drama but somehow, Hae Suk's death got to me. And after seeing that Shunji died that way too... my anger towards him dissolved... I mean I am still angry at him pulling the trigger so recklessly (knowing the fact that Mok Dan was there besides him), it reminded me of how even Kang To pulled the trigger so recklessly at Kang-san, although understanding his mentality that he was after the troublemaker, bridal mask & not really after his identity, but that's what they almost convinced us till he told the bridal mask to remove that mask... I mean why are you concerned about his identity now that you've already shot him? Didn't understand there if they wanted bridal mask alive or dead?
Probably a good drama if you turn off your brain. Decide for either historical tragedy or unrealistic action,…
I really kept it in for the storyline & welp, the end could've been better, I can't seems to hate the whole drama as it did made me hook up to the screen sever times. Anyways this indeed have some plot holes (like still unable to understand how Kang To's father died & how the hell the Kishokai leader turned out to be a korean? )
I agree with you I Think Shunji is mostly just seen as a pure evil crazy dude but he has so much depth and sadness.…
Shunji chose to be that way... he knew he can't get esther but to me it seems like he wanted to test his love for her by competing against Kang To.. anyways just saying that Shunji chose to do this. Ik things triggered him but he agreed to them. Saying to his father "I realized I am indeed Japanese to the bones"
Ik I'm 4 years late but you're definitely in for the plot twists, although eh I can't say "you missed" or smth but this is that one kdrama where romance isn't centered so... if you're someone who doesn't enjoy the usual romance centered dramas then give this one a try. But yes as people said, this drama is dark af so beware, you're in for a ride full of emotions (might as well have your tissues ready xD)
Finale could've been better ngl.. like instead Shunji killing himself might as well have a final kendo fight to death. THAT would've been more better but eh Ig i understood why he killed himself... & welp, I kinda hated how Rie turned her back on Katsuyama so coldheartedly... could've atleast given him a deep bow for protecting her life but well.. Katsuyama did his job very well as a bodyguard so... and she being someone who's raised by a power hungry person... guess her attitude towards Katsuyama makes sense. I still kinda cracked a bit when she told him her real name & he was like "I'll remember that name for the rest of my life" I mean... it was a drama... you could've made it more dramatic this way... but I understood now why it has that ending for some characters. Still not happy for the abrupt end with all the people marching towards the imperial police office... it felt like their death march. Especially when there were little kids in it (Sun Hwa's lil' brother). Hope it ended well
The show has spectacular action and a very intense central performance from Joo Won.Still, couldn't last beyond…
Well i can't say this was anti japan since Japan really did some f*cked up things during ww2 so... this drama depicts this part really well but overall the hate for the japs (even now) seems to linger so much in this... Feels like there are still people (like the one who made the drama) who still hold the grudge for Japan
Bruh can't you see the tag "Japanese colonial rule" ? As much as I've hate to say it, but what shown in ths drama about the Japanese opression maybe true since...well... The japs at the time were quite violent... perfectly suitable villains for such a drama
Felt really bad for 2nd FL's bodyguard. Will miss Shunji's screams and him the most from this drama.
Ikr? Felt bad for Katsuyama & well.. idk how to feel for Shunji.. as much as I have to feel the need to scream "BASTARD!" at him, I hate to admit that I pitied for him at the end after what he did to himself...welp this was really complicated
