I started watching dramas of this kind, because I am learning Japanese and used it to get used to the language and the goal to watch them without subtitle one day. 

I especially like the TV shows, because of them having 10-20 episodes and only 1 season. This is perfect to have a decent story and get to know the different characters without becoming boring, at least for me. 

I gave Korean ones a shot after I watched a lot of Japanese dramas, even tough I don't understand the language at all, but I am still happy I did.
