Awesome! It’s such a great story, I’m so glad it got translated. The same publisher published the 1st book of The Return of the Condor Heroes in 2023. It’s called A Past Unearthed… I think they plan to publish the rest of the story in 2 or 3 more books but only the first book is available now. I haven’t read it because I wanted to wait till all of them are out.

KJH looked like the bad-guy when he dropped out of Time in 2018 but in 2021 when the reasons came out why he dropped it, he was basically cleared of any wrongdoing and everyone’s anger refocused on SYJ, who is still yet to make a full comeback. Also, Iron Family has an excellent cast with a lot of popular actors. One actor’s old ‘scandal’ does not account for the low-budget production.
I love this drama. I’ve watched it twice. It’s not a masterpiece but I enjoyed the humor so much that I was able to overlook various shortcomings. The FL is hilarious. I loved her in this. I think you should give it a try. If you enjoy this type of humor I think you will enjoy the show on the whole.
I read the novel, then watched the two newer adaptations. Finally, I tried this one and though it’s production is really dated, it’s by far my favorite. If you can forgive it for its age, it is a solid adaptation and truest to the source material. Linghu Chong is one of my favorite Jin Yong characters.

Since 2020, I think, dramas haven’t been allowed to release more than 40 episodes in the same year. Production companies had been getting around this by releasing multiple seasons. For example a 30 episode season 1 followed a few weeks or months later by a 30 episode season 2.
The rules changed again in 2024. Dramas aren’t allowed to release more than 40 episodes, regardless of whether it is broken into multiple seasons. So, this drama, being 60 total episodes, can’t release the second half until sometime next year. I don’t think they knew this when they were shooting… So, we get 30 episodes this year and 30 more sometime in the future.

Viki subs are the best… I don’t know what the actual situation is but, here in the US, I remember seeing Viki advertising jobs for subtitle translators on the job search site, Indeed. It was a paid job. So, at least some of the translators must be getting paid. Maybe not all though… I don’t know.

NamKoong Min is great in Good Manager, which has the same writer as Fiery Priest and Vincenzo. If you enjoy the humor in those dramas, you’ll enjoy Good Manager. As always, NKM is amazing in it, he’s hilarious.

My favorite Namkoong Min drama is Good Manager. It’s one of the funniest comedies I’ve seen. He’s amazing in it… I’m about to watch One Dollar Lawyer because I’m a big fan of his.

This drama seems to be a love or hate drama. I finished it and I’ve been fighting the urge to turn into a troll all week-my skin is turning green! It’s not like me at all but this drama-imo-was exceptionally absurd. I was very disappointed but don’t want to spread any negativity. You are not alone. This drama is definitely not for everyone. 🧌
