This novel's popularity is something I don't get, along with the author's other works, Perfect Secret Love. Both follow similar set-up and tropes. It has so many repetitive supporting characters, too many unnecessary dialogues between irrelevant characters (like why do I have to read an entire chapter(s) of supporting characters ranting about how "jealous" they are of the FML while the FML sits to the side and act all mysterious/know-it-all? This scene repeats itself X times in different manner that I have to roll my fricken eyes) and totally convoluted storyline the further you read on. There are better ways to write a "strong" and memorable female lead.
The author seems to like that kind of writing style. I read the novel cause it was top rated but honestly, it was all over the place messy. Even with the author's other novel. A lot of things that happen makes me goes wtf, and makes me suspicious it's only for the length and word count to earn more money.
Now it's a decent, comedic story to pass time but not comparable to the likes of dramas that should be adapted, such as works from Tong Hua, Ding Mo, Fei Wo Si Cun etc. I miss legit novels such as those. Nowadays most of these web novels are just to stretch quantity over quality and dry up your wallet.
