Well, it's the problem here. You shouldn't. Bring the medias to influence ? Unethical ? It's a drama. You can't mix moral with a subjective creation and the way you see it. How come you think there is no moral issue in the fact that someone drugs someone else to go in their dreams against their will (as you promoted Mystic Pop-up Bar ; which I like a lot too actually) ? Because it's magic ? Because you think it's not really possible ? Well, it can still bother a lot of people to see that, because it's alcohol, drug and forcing someone against their will. I'm sure you will disagree, but it just shows how shallow your argument on moral is and that in the end it's just a matter of opinion, what you like or dislike, and not something about absolute right or wrong in this world.
This drama is racist, sexist and irredeemable. Using controversy to gain fame is such a low tactic SBS messed…
Hahaha, do you really believe what you wrote ? Ji Chang Wook his the main character of this drama, is there any other fame needed for this drama ? Be serious, good or bad, this drama doesn't need more fame when he has such an actor starring in it. You can dislike it, even hate it, it will not change Ji Chang Wook's fame and other people liking this drama.

Well, I couldn't disagree more. There is no right and wrong. There is different opinions and one having the majority. That doesn't make the other one a bad one. Because what you call a bad opinion was once a right one and can be right in a different place. And the one you call a right one might become a bad one in the future or be bad in another place. So you can't be absolute about that. You don't own the absolute and divine truth you know. And there is no "we" here. It's not because some people mix moral with opinion about a piece of art that everybody must do the same. I don't project my feelings or reality in a drama when I watch it. I watch it, feels something and after I use my reflection to understand it and evaluate if I like it or not, and why. But even if I don't like something, moral have nothing to do with it. Because if you think that way, you can erase all movies and series from this world, as you will always have someone with a different moral that don't like something and feel bad about it. Don't get me wrong, I can understand that you don't like that drama. But you can't force your opinion by using moral, it's irrelevant here.
People need to stop saying that the drama can do whatever it wants because it’s a comedy. That’s ignorant and…
Your comment is ignorant and hurtful. Honestly, do you think there is just one, ONE, drama, series or film in the world that cannot be seen ignorant or hurtful in a way by one human being in this world ? There is not, because there will always be people sensitive about something, anything in any drama/series/film. You don't like it, ok, fine. But stop making everybody who doesn't agree with you as heartless and bad people. You have an opinion, many other people have different opinions. Nothing makes yours better than the others.
“It’s not a grand story, and there are no extreme incidents, but the warmth within the story really moved my heart a lot.” Ji Chang Wook on why he chose this drama. And what he thinks about his character : “Unlike other drama leads, he doesn’t have a special skill, but rather, he’s an interesting figure who’s realistic and sometimes has a weak resolve.” and “My role this time isn’t that cool. The figure himself isn’t like that, so you shouldn’t expect something cool.” Love the way he is totally sincere about the simplicity of this story and characters.
At least I use more than five words to comment and elaborate what I have on my mind and I write about the drama, I don't make a judgment on other watchers.
I have seen the first look and trailer of this drama and I am not elated. One of the poster of BR with ensemble…
I could agree with you, but the problem is that the basis of your argument is that the drama must make a high rating in viewers number. Of course, it's a business and they need to make money, but first of all, a drama/film is a piece of art, like a book or a music. You do it because you like it, believe in it. Th same goes for why you watch it. If screenwriters, directors and actors would only make dramas/films based on popular genre or viewers expectations, our choices would be very limited and very boring and some masterpieces would have never existed. Popular consent should not be the way we appreciate something. I personally don't care about ratings or popularity because the tastes of the majority or a large portion of the public doesn't reflect my tastes. Sometimes it does, sometimes not. The thing that I totally agree with you is that Ji Chang Wook deservers better. Or, better, I hope he would do other things (more movies, more action/charismatic characters), because the thing is that nobody forced him I guess. He chose this script, like Melting Me Softly, so he liked it and believe in it. I don't think his agency forced him or that he don't receive much offers.
Well, obviously, people are excited, or worried, about this new drama, mostly thanks or because of the great Ji Chang Wook. And I am certainly excited ! But honestly, there is nothing much to expect of this because the plot is very simple and there will not be much action or turnover I suppose. We can just expect good acting and good chemistry, and maybe some good surprises with the story development, but it will never be as good as an action drama/film like The K2/Healer or an epic story like Empress Ki. For me it will only be a simple romance, like Suspicious Partners, but even more simple as they work in a convenience store. And for all the "fans" or non-fans who can't stop writing "I hope it's not a Melting Me Softly disaster again.", well, that drama had a plot that gave great expectations that were disappointed during the development of the story, but in that case, I don"t understand why you would have high expectations about a story as simple as it seems to be. I'm just happy to watch soon a new drama with my favorite actor, even if it's not that good or exciting. 창욱이형 화이팅!
*clear the way for jcw*Thanks for making me laugh so hard . Ig It'll be great enough for JCW if that doesn't end…
Well, honestly I don't expect much of 편의점 샛별이. The plot is very simple, just a light romance, and I doubt it will have much action and turnovers (Ji Chang Wook is great in everything of course, but he has an incredible charisma when playing action for me). I'll just enjoy the simple story and good acting (I hope so at least !). See you in the comments section there ! :)
Finally ! This mess is over (and the final episode was one big mess too) ! ㅋㅋㅋ Clear the place for Ji Chang Wook ! ^^ More seriously, people need to stop making excuses about dramas/films because they are a fan of an actor staring in it. Despite how much I love an actor and his characters, I can be objective and tell the flaws of a story/production/acting. Nothing and nobody is always perfect. Of course, you can still love a drama/film even with flaws, but the rave comments are ridiculous. Woo Do Hwan and Kim Kyung Nam, and a few secondary actors, made this enjoyable for me though.
It's definitely the most messy drama I have ever watched ! And one of the worst romance. It almost becomes funny at this point how bad it is. I must really like Woo Do Hwan to watch it until the end...
It's a little bit unfortunate that we had to wait for episode 12 so that the story became really interesting. But well, I guess it was worth the wait, just for Woo Do Hwan's pec. ^^
Well... this is a mess. So far, 10 episodes. Few points : - the 2 worlds story and uncle betrayal and way to survive between the two is good and had so much more potential - the romance ? Ew ! It should have been forgotten, the drama would have been much better - Lee Min Ho ? First time watching a drama with him and, sorry for him but, he isn't a good actor in this character - Thanks God Woo Do Hwan is here ! Actually the main and almost only reason I'll keep watching to the end - Kim Kyung Nam is a nice revelation and his character is probably the most interesting one
Well, episode 6 is quite disappointing on the present characters development. Ji Soo is still way too much submissive. So to me it doesn't even feel relatable. The ex-husband's blackmail and Ji Soo's answers are totally out of logic. And Jae Hyun who seemed like planning some kind of revenge with a great mind now looks like he can't control anything and just take punches. Oh and way too much flash-backs. Hope it will improve in the next episodes.
