Morally fragile viewers will literally see the content warnings, know a toxic BL contains SA, kidnapping, abuse, and all kinds of messed-up dynamics, and still press play. Then halfway through they act shocked that the toxic BL is toxic. If you already know those themes trigger you, why are you watching it in the first place? That part genuinely baffles me.
And no, what you do not get to do is turn around and tell those of us who enjoy dark or toxic BLs that we need therapy. Enjoying fictional stories with morally flawed characters doesn't mean we support those actions in real life. By that logic, people who watch serial killer movies, crime dramas, or psychological thrillers would all need therapy too.
Not every story is supposed to be healthy, educational, or a guide on how to behave in real life. Some stories are meant to be dark, messy, disturbing, and tragic. If that's not your thing, that's completely fine. But stop acting like people who enjoy fictional toxicity are somehow morally defective for understanding the difference between fiction and reality.
FREAKING STICK TO YOUR FLUFFY BLS, THE LORD KNOWS THERE ARE A LOT OF THEM OUT THERE AND LEAVE THE TOXIC ONES FOR US.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion but Iโm slightly concerned by the amount of people who are enjoying this…
People rate shows for different reasons, though. If the acting, production, music, and overall execution are good, i'm absolutely going to give it a good rating, regardless of whether the story is toxic or not. Double Helix is a perfect example.
The relationship was toxic, but the acting was excellent, the soundtrack was beautiful, the production quality was impressive, and the story was engaging. A toxic plot doesn't automatically make a series bad. I rate based on how well a show achieves what it's trying to do, not on whether the characters are morally perfect.
Iโve stoped watch fluffy bls for a while now ๐๐ Fortunately now donโt be too emotional is going to air…
It follows a young actor Zhang Zhun who takes on a challenging bl film role and becomes dangerously entangled with his award-winning co-star Chen Xin. By the director's orders to prepare for their deeply intimate roles, the two men move into a couple's room together for 15 days of intense cohabitation.
I don't think it would be dark. The male leads are so fine. I remember thinking Sammy's children's day was supposed to be toxic like the novel but the drama wasn't.

Don't even get me started with the music.

I hope they deliver it.
Lu Feng: Suppose there's no cure at all?
Cheng Yi Chen: Then i'll go crazy right alongside you
Now that is what i am talking about๐๐๐
Who says this isn't love?
Just give me toxic characters and messy romance that's all i ask for.
Some of us have waited years to get a remake so we can finally get a happy ending.
