IIRC correctly - the facts of the events around the accident only cleared up near the end of book 1 of 2. Ep 9 teaser should be more of a "move on, give it a chance" moment.

poetic justice. do read the novel as the last arc was different - do realize it would have been a much longer show and more expensive to film

- Yan Ze succeeded - but disappeared - he never wanted the throne but to give Yan Han a taste of his own poison
- YongNing and Yan Li were never a couple
- Empress, Yan Che and Qin Chaoyu survived till the end but gave up the rebellion for the throne
- Empress Dowager only knew of the swap much later
- Yan Chi was a strategist - he was always a few steps ahead except for the death of his father
Yan Chi and Qin Wan became emperor and empress

correct- but that statement was one of his confession declaration in ep29

if the subs i saw is to be believed - she got the impression that ML was with her just to pissed off his ex. and she is no where as good or attractive as the ex. the straw that broke the camel back is the last line of that conversation - if you don't stop, i will marry her - meaning the ex's action has more influence on their relationship vs his feelings for her

just realised - doesn't the scene where CZ got punished and exiled feel like stock footage with voice-over ADR? perhaps censorship / off-screen drama gutted the last stretch and left the last 3 eps' narrative in shambles .....

she learnt and grew up on the battlefield but was never in court. Prior to her first court appearance she was replaced by HRF (both the novel and the drama).

double edge sword - u compare more - but u do get some background pointers that the drama does not care to expand on.

example - HY commented she lay in a group of corpses in a single comment to XJ
in novel this was how she met her master - she was badly injured and left for dead together with other troops when she first joined as a rank-and-file soldier - he saved her and then trained her

the last 2-3 eps was the screenwriter getting "creative" without the novel as a bible

they are just checking a box. In the novel Yan He does die to a poison arrow but a month later. With LSH's help, he held on waiting for HY to reinforce him so that he can both transfer leadership of his army as well as gathered intelligence to her

that is my unhappiness with the last 3 eps. It really became an exercise of manufacturing situations to enact key moments of the novel - without the same background or buildup

Novel was a transmigration story so does not align to the drama.
HRF was a schemer but he did not work with xu jing fu until after he assumed the FeiHong general title. Other than working with Wutou with XJF, he was basically his own antagonist in cahoots with HY's husband (flashback reveals that he overhead her identity and blackmailed HRF) over the Feihong identity (XJF was not aware).
The evils he did was
1) blind HY
2) kill HY
3) like drama arranged an ambush that killed all of HY's Fuyue Army commanders.
4) Sent Ding Li to Sun family (he was a master poisoner and his main right hand)
5) scheme with XJF around Wutou (mainly the battle of ??? that killed the commanders, no reinforcement with Rundu and the open market with Wutou)
6) attempted to assassinate HY after her identity was revealed to be female at the royal banquet (I can't recall why she was seen as a threat)

The novel did not have much if any strategic discussions between XJF and him, he is more of a follower swearing allegiance to XJF.
