Title Boyhood
uhm, why was the Nazi swastika shown in ep3 on the building of which Seonhwa entered?!
The swastika has to be the most famous instance of appropriation, where westerners are unaware of the appropriation. The symbol itself predates it's Aryan use and association with Nazism by about 50 centuries. It has, for a long time, been and continues to be used as a symbol of divinity and spirituality in Asian religions. You can look it up, there is too much history behind it to be able to summarize it in a MDL comment.

Title Tin Tem Jai
Laid back, slice of life, without the usual screeming, squeeling 'drama queen' clique often seen in thai series, with a sprinkle of bl, while also touching on societal issues (Tin's mom child abandonment, Bai's transgender story). Am very curious how this will hold up for the remaining 9 episodes, but so far this is a very enjoyable one, so not deserving of the current MDL rating.

Everyone out here raving about how great the series is- and, sure all that...but what I really want to know is...what are the black sneakers that White as Black wears?! For specifics- ep 8/4, mark 10:02 for those watching official youtube (or mark 41:23 for unofficial sources). Anyone knows?! Help a girl out :) Don't throw stones, am really obsessed with them sneakers and google image search didn't help much (embarassed)

well Im skipping this because of your comment. My heart can't deal with another MODC situation right now so thank…
Consider giving it a chance. I too circle round this for a long time before watching, for the same reason. But when I finally sank my teeth into it- it ended up as one of the top BLs out there for me, and I've seen many. Just... go into it prepared.

Your first point was also my biggest problem in this story. Her "profession" bothered me as soon as she interrupted…
This is actually an issue I've notice with all C-dramas that deal with the medical field- always some pretty questionable behaviour/knowledge or lack thereof portrayed on the doctors' part, to the point where I hope never to end up needing medical care in China.(yes, dramaland, so take it with a grain of salt, but...). Worst of it is when it's professionals dealing with things around mental issues and health- makes it feel like those doctors just went to the doctor certificate store and bought theirs for 5 RMB

Dropped like a hot potatoe. First red flag- child psichologist FL readily agrees to kid calling her 'Mom'-like, guuuurl, did you learn anything during medical school?! Second red flag- female lead is a wet rag in front of male lead and her parents- never really puts her foot down- she all 'oh, this whole engagement is all fake' but then just sit there and goes through the motions when fiance and parents meet and discuss/plan their marriage. Don't really need a 3rd red flag to make this droppable- after enough dramas in the same vein, you get to a point where fluff is not enough.

I had such high hopes for this show. The trailer looked great and I like Simon Gong. But after sitting through…
I think this was originally planned as a 36, maybe even 40 episode drama and probably not planned for airing this year- but they rush chopped it down to 24 to squeeze it in between other already planned-for-airing dramas to take advantage of Simon's World of Honor popularity high- as such, ending up with a complete dud even Simon's pretty face can't save

I went into this show having read the review and warned about the ending, but still with an open-mind. I, like you, am on part of the minority - the ending elevated this for me- to the point that it still periodically pops into my mind almost 2 years after the first viewing- and every time I think of it, I still feel my heart being squeezed at the pain of Hao Ting's loss. Not as intense as my first seeing ep 10, but it's always there. This alone is enough to qualify MODC as one of my top dramas, not just BLs, overall dramas. There's also the incredible acting-Chun Chih had 9 episoded to convince me that an absolute rookie can take a role and run with it like no other, while the last episode gifted me the discovery of Wayne's full range- I mean, boy tore my heart out, all culminating with Hao Ting brakedown in BoXiang's house.

I mean not gonna lie, the ending made so I'll definitely remember this drama for years to come, and maybe once…
Oh, the meeting parents among the stars- I would never go there-I don't gloss over thought of what-ifs in afterlife, to me dead is dead, end of the road. Except for the short reprieve of happiness, he was pretty much the very portrail of a tragic character.
There is one point that you did mention that is my one 'sore' point with the drama- the way it felt like Yu Shi Gu just gave in to sleeping with Hao Ting rather then really wanting it. I could understand where Hao Ting came from, with the frustration- he is the very portrail of a teen woth raging hormones, who up to this point never had any problem getting it, with girls actually falling to his feet. And here he finds himself for the first time deeply falling for a guy- Shi Gu's reservations about having sex probably felt a lot like a rejection to him. But the way they resolved this, gave me the impression Shi Gu went with it because Hao Ting wanted it, rather then wholehartedly being something he wished for as well. On the other hand, Shi Gu always struck me as an asexual or greysexual character- like sex was something he never gave a tought to until he finally felt an emotional attraction to someone and it all came as a package- sort of 'ok, i in a relationship now, so i have to have sex, bec it's expected in a relationship'. Ah, there are a lot of details about MODC that to me could make for a broad conversationon perspectives... This just put me in a mood to go do a re-watch.

This is one of my favorite BLs. I went into it having read the reviews and some of the fan opinions, so I knew I was in for a sad ending. At the time, watching episode 9, I still felt like it was unfair to the overall feel of the series. And then episode 10 came- for me, Chun Chih had a whole 9 episodes to prove what a great actor he is, while ep 10 was just Wayne's tour de force- literally cut to the bone, felt like I was there with him, going through all the longing, emptiness and loneliness following the loss of a loved one. Proved to me that he has sonmuch more to offer as an actor then I had seen in the previous 9 episodes. A couple of days after finishing this and turning it over in my head, over and over and over again, I made peace with the ending- and realized that...it actually made sense. In life, bad things happen, sometimes when you are at your happiest and most hopeful for the future. Add to it that the creators knew it was their last HIStory- it felt like a swan song with an ending so fitting to it. Once I am done with a drama, I rarely dwell on it for long. More then a year later, every now and again, I still find myself thinking back on MODC- after all this time, i can still each time feel a pang in my heart at the thought of Hao Ting's pain- that is the lasting impact that ending had on me- had it been a happy one, I would stilI have enjoyed the series, but it would not have had such a lasting impact on me. So much so, that I am now convinced that choice of ending was a stroke of brilliance from the creative team.

I am so with you on this- they needed time, a good chunk of time, to make me believe that they have grown, learned…
Yep, exactly so-deayh or leaving the protagonist so miserable that he wishes he was dead is just as tragic, if not more tragic, than killing him. Two characters not ending up together, without any of the above death or misery involved-does not in my book a tragic ending make. A melodrama, an unhappy ending, a realistic ending- sure, a tragedy- surely not.

I get it- for you-it was convincing enough. For me, more time, distance and personal growth -esp for Tae-was needed for them to come full circle. We each have different expectations out of and a different frameworks for what a solid foundation makes. Please.

I see two possibilities to tragedy- either characters die or you leave one of or all protagonists so miserable that they wish they were dead instead. Idon't think Oh-Aew and Tae not ending up together would have fallen into any of thes categories. I also don't have an issue with them leaving an open ending with the possibility of a future what if or that of another season/mpvie for the what if. I just feel the short interlude they portraid here did not build enough of a foundation for a future, unshakable relationship for them- the writting fell short of convincing me they had to end up together at this point in time and it felt like they could have chosen different, but they went the route of fan service

Hmmmmm…I don’t know what I feel about this happy ending. It is nice that they got back together but simultaneously,…
I am so with you on this- they needed time, a good chunk of time, to make me believe that they have grown, learned and, as need for Tae's character development to a point where I can see him back together with Oh-Aew, changed and came to understand the commitment a relationship requires. At the end of the day, they provided a HE bec it was expected/required- but the short break in their relationship did little to convince me Tae had enough time to grow into someone who will respect his significant other enough to not repeat the mistakes of the past.

Airy don’t be sad my beatiful angel. God must have blessed on you. If you knew how a big trouble you survived,…
It all felt like a cop-out for the sake of fan service- it was all good writting until...the end put a damp on it.
Not trying to negate that overall, both seasons had great acting, directing, cinematography- and until the fan-service HE, great writting too. Unlike the hoards of fans that were all up in arms the moment the cheating plot was introduced, i thought they showed great ba*ls there, bec real life, cheating happens and funny enough, I was not in the least surprised by it, because I find Tae on the grey spectrum of morals, super intense, a bit selfish, self centered and narcissistic- which doesn't make him any less, if anything makes for a great character, we alwaus love a troubled one, don't we.
But at that point, I also expected them to follow up on said great ba*ls and give Oh-Aew the good, not happy fan-service required ending, but good ending that his character deserved, maybe leaving the door open to the possibility of them meeting years later, after they both are established as individuals, wiser and better at the communication a good relationship requires

I’m here just to see the teenagers and single women whine about how bad and terrible this is just cause they…
Beautifully acted, directed, cinematographed and written- until the writting fell short, into the trap of the obligatory, what is fan-percieved HE. Unlike a lot of the fandom, I didn't have any issue with the cheating plot device, because, realism well done-but the closure of it all- quite a let down, with no lessons learned- a pretty speach does not for a changed, 'I learned from my mistakes' Tae make. All the more disappointing when the bar up until that point was set so high- literally feels like they took the easy way out because...gotta give it to the fans. A HE does not necessarily a good ending spell.

Life lessons from Nadao 1, don't change your shampoo and hair color. Use whatever is your lover's favourite. Don't…
I feel like it went down the rabbit whole of 99% of bl series, where ppl don't really get held accountable for their doings and they just gloss over things for the fan required HE. I had no problem with them going the cheating route(relationships are complex and sh*t happens, no matter how many of the fans cried otherwise), but it feels like they took the easy way out on the resolution of it- where everything is just forgiven, forgotten and sweapt under the rug. It could have been a great opportunity to end this with them apart, without any contact whatsoever for couple of years, giving them time to learn and grow- with a follow-up and closure in a S3
or a movie. Instead, the way it ended,
leaves me with the impression that their relationship will forever be unbalanced, with Oh-Aew always coming up on the loosing end.

What do you think about this ending guys and what title would you suggest?
Haven't see the ending yet, but my preferance would be for them to take a clean cut break, from relationship, from friendship, just from each other for a couple of years- just to give themselves time to find their own footing as individuals in the world. And then I can see a movie or another season happening- where they meet again in their late 20s, back where it all started, in Phuket- Oh-aew is well established in the advertising industry, currently in a healthy relationship, is at his parents resort, to film an advert or smth and Teh- who's made it pretty big as an actor- his mom died and he comes back to wrap things up with their house and restaurant. While pretty established himself and loved by many, Yeh has never had a happy, stable relationship since breaking up with Oh-aew - and back to where it all started, chancing up upon Oh-aew- they have a drink and ginally as adults a real talk thorough all they left behind, start to mend their friendship, Tae begins to realize all that Oh-aew meant for him and starts to pursue him, you get the gist. And it ends with them finally together- with the provision that in the process of getting back together with Tae, Oh-aew never cheats on his boyfriend, when he figures out he still has residual feelings himself and is willing to give Tae a new chance, he makes a clean break from his current relationship- throwback to the 1st season on how they got back their frienship and went on to becoming something more, all in Phuket. Title would def be smth Sunrise and the whole thing would end with a shot of them watching the sunrise in the very se spot they caught the sunset end of season 1. Perfect full circle
