Unfortunately, this didn't come across at all in the series. Jiang Xiao Shuai was beyond scared and took the threat very seriously, just like I did as a viewer.

It seems like this kind of thing tends to be romanticized in BL dramas, which I unfortunately don't like either. Some say you should turn off your head and see it as fiction, but I don't want to be like that. The series itself isn't bad, but as I said, it unfortunately has a lot of flaws.

I finished the drama two weeks ago, and I'm not really warming up to Chi Cheng. I mean, in the first episode, he throws a young man to several men, which leads to a gang rape, and later he threatens Wu Suo Wei's friend and master, Jiang Xiao Shuai, with rape if he doesn't get Wu Suo Wei to open his legs for him. Wu Suo Wei knows about this, but he doesn't do much about it. That's more than a red flag for me, and it doesn't make up for the lovable, dovy behavior that follows.

Otherwise it was an interesting topic and I almost liked the second pair better than the first.

I know that it is fiction, but even fiction needs to make sense. Otherwise it is poor storytelling and world building.
