Watched episode 8 and so far, it's quite a decent show. I am a fan of Nicky Wu. He has a lot of screen time, which is good, unlike Star April, his appearance is limited. At episode 1, I was turned off a little and almost gave up. Glad that I didn't. It may be still too early to say whether this drama is good or a drag. All I can say now is at this moment, it is worth investing the time into it and hopefully it developes into an exciting drama.

I felt the same way too when I was around that episode. But now I am towards the end of the drama (ep. 33), I felt that it is clearer now who the main girl wants to be in love with and I'm with her. Just follow the flow and enjoy the ride. This drama is really good and I hope it ends well.

Thanks for your info. I have just completed episode 10. The story gets more and more "technical" as Ning Yi plans against the crown prince. The pace is still slow. Wish they can speed up a little bit.

Erudite, when you are done with this drama, can you watch The Rise of Phoenixes? It is still not subbed. I like that drama but have a hard time understanding some parts of it. Not sure whether you like this kind of genre. Thanks.

It is hard to sum up in a sentence. We are still confused on one part of the drama. Maybe, they will clarify later down the road.
Ning Yi was just released after 8 years in prison for helping his 3rd brother to go against the crown prince. At that time, the 4th brother was gaining popularity and the crown prince felt the threat. The crown prince and the other 2 brothers set up a trap that caused the death of the 3rd brother.
The King is afraid that with Ning Yi's release, he will be bullied by the brothers. He arranged him to be married to the family of one of his most powerful cabinet personnel. Meanwhile, the family did not like their daughter to be married to this prince, who is unpopular. The wife arranged her sister-in-law's daughter instead. There were funny moments on how the 2 leads met but later cancelled the marriage.
At this moment, Ning Yi wants others to perceive him as a "crazy" tailor that is not interested in politics.
Feng Zhi Wei's mother made her solemnly swear not to ever marry to Ning Yi. Her mother did not explain the reason to her. However, the conversation between her mother and her uncle seems to suggest that Ning Yi is the caused of his father's death. This part confused us. There are other parts of the show that clearly states that the crown prince is the one that caused the death of the previous emperor's son & Zhi Wei's father, who was the general of the previous emperor. They even say, without the death of the previous emperor's son (baby), he wouldn't be entitled the crown prince position.

After watching episode 4, I feel that this drama is very promising. Pace wise, it is on the slow side but the story is interesting enough for me to carry on and on the plus side, the actors are very mature in their acting.
I can understand Chinese but not at this level. It gets really "technical" at times. A word here and there and sometimes, a sentence here and there. I am struggling watching this drama without English subtitles. I hope that someone can sub this drama ASAP. At the moment, I have to rely on my husband for translation because I really don't want to miss out anything important. Luckily, he doesn't find me annoying.

This drama caught my eye because of the high rating. I peeped into episode 1 today and now already watching episode 7. I must agree to the rating at this moment. So far, it has the Princess Agent feel to it. Amazingly, the story is really entertaining and I hope that the drama continues to do so until the very end. It is only 36 episodes and probably will not be a drag towards the end.

I think, Chang An/Shadow's face from certain angle looks like Rain/Jung Ji Hoon, the famous Korean actor/singer.

For those who are undecided whether to watch this drama, watch it! I am watching episode 15 now and I must tell you, loudly that EACH and EVERY ONE episode is great so far. I can say that if you like Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms (Eternal Love), you will definitely love this drama. I hope that the momentum stays this way.

Even though the drama clearly points out the ending direction of the lead couple, they didn't act it out. It is disappointing to see this kind of hanging closure in a drama.

I am into episode 4 now. I like Love O2O and started watching Martial Universe because of Yang Yang. However, the characters that Yang Yang plays in Love O2O and Martial Universe are quite different. So far, I don't really like the childish act of Lin Dong's character. I hope that Lin Dong grows up and out of this childish act soon otherwise, I might drop this drama.
