this kinda wrecked me a little. some of the deaths felt kind of unnecessary, and the pacing was all over the place, but it still made me cry a few times. for me it was worth the watch.

Ok I want to say that this is my first ever bl watched series and I am very new to this world ! I mean to say…
just so you're not disappointed, some bl do have discrimination and heavier topics and are very sad. it's not a very uniform thing. Like In The Movies for example is very raw and realistic in this aspect (i think it's very realistic in general, as a lesbian much of what is shown are things i either have experienced or have seen people close to me experiencing, both positive and negative). other bl (like this one from what you're saying even though i haven't watched it yet) do the more fluffy utopic thing and i like them too. others yet do neither???Pornographer for example deals with very dark emotions but not really regarding the characters' sexual orientation, it deals with feelings of hopelessness and loneliness and depression and it's very sad. what you see depends a lot on what you look for. there's things for all types of mood. (also sorry for the super long comment i just really like talking about these things)

I managed to get through the entire thing without many tears but now after I finished it I just want to lie down and sob my entire water contents out. This was so tough to watch in some parts, so raw, and I'm so glad it exists. I saw myself so much in Vlad, so many of the struggles I've been through being out as a lesbian were there, and it hurts at the same time as it makes me feel seen. This was incredible. I'm gonna go sob now.

Since I don't want to spoiler-hide my entire comment I'll just say general stuff in the first paragraph and go slightly into more spoilery territory in the second so you can avoid the more in depth things if you want to.

Compared to other BL/GL I've seen this is super straightforward with a very concise plot. It doesn't try to fit a bajillion subplots and side characters into it and it doesn't try to fit a story made for 45min episodes into 10min episodes. It also feels super wholesome and light most of the time.

Like other people have said, it would have been nice to see Sangha's backstory more well explained and fleshed-out, but it was still enjoyable as it is. I also loved the fact that they are not your standard clueless couple that is scared to even hold hands. Their relationship feels really natural from the beginning.

I knew this was going to be unhinged but I was not prepared for the level of unhingedness

adit after watching a few more episodes: besides unhinged, this is actually really good.

Thanks I love it the only thing I need now is for each of the epiodes to be like an hour long because i'd watch this forever

This is one I could not bring myself to finish. The way Type's bigoted behaviour is treated as fine and justified by his backstory??? The way Tharn kinda acts like a creep and is super pushy with Type, confirming the idea Type already had about The Gays being predatory rapists??? The way they still somehow end up together???? I had to nope out.
