Oh wow. Episode 8 is the best episode yet. Just when I thought the trajectory of the events couldn't have been more perfect, the writer ends it with a party, complete with an unexpected guest. I am so ready for episode 9 -- I can't wait to see how this party unfolds!!!

P.S. Am I the only one holding my breath thinking that the party crasher would be the male lead? But alas! The writer proved that he/she has better plans for the climax, and I am more than happy to be wrong and put my faith on the writer lol.

It must be hard for the leads. They'll have to intensely stare at each other until tomorrow 😆

they've shown me one of the most genuine and raw depictions of love that i've seen in a drama. i find that all…
I agree. The leads are very unpretentious and just show how much they deeply love and care for each other. I highly recommend Battle of Changsha for good relationship depictions.

Have you watched My Fated Boy? I rewatch it almost every year. That should've been his breakout role. Can't believe…
I know. The hair and clothes do a lot lol.

Totally agree with your comment. Speed and Love clearly relied on He Yu’s sex appeal (and I admit I mainly watched…
I finally found one of the few who thought that Jiang Mu was childish! I mentioned in another forum before that she was acting like a 12 y.o. with the voice and lolita outfits lol. I couldn't help but think 2fl would've been a much better match. Her character is more interesting since her trajectory could be about becoming independent from her dad and joining Zhao Zhao in exposing the dad's crimes. -- almost Romeo and Juliet-esque. That would've been more in-line with the badass first part of the story.

He needs to play more grey characters besides I Remember You because that's the first show he caught my attention.

I waanted to start this drama but I am not able to ignore the fact that the FL was 16 years old
I did start it, but I grew up watching her as a child actress. I just couldn't get that out of my head too, so I stopped watching it. Didn't help that the character always needed rescuing.

ugh you hit the nail on the head. I didn’t think about how their relationship started which was just from scratch!!…
Haha I was trying to understand the hype of Shine on Me but couldn't even if I got to the very last episode (I skipped more than half of the show lol). I don't suggest finishing it since we have this much better drama now.

I was obsessed with the chemistry between them in Speed and Love, and He Yu, of course. But the writing had plot…
I didn't even think there was a plot lol. It was the "He Yu Show" to me. Made me proud as a long time fan though. Yes! I skip majority of the business scenes because the interactions between the leads is so slice-of-life coded, especially with the idyllic old neighborhood setting.

I get what you mean about the draggy plot and usually I’d be complaining about it. I’m not sure why I’m…
'Cause it's calm. Barely any loud and annoying characters lol. And they give us crumbs with the sweet gestures to make us stay.

I don't remember when was the last time I saw a drama where it started out as pure friendship for both leads. I love that neither have hidden agendas and converse maturely. Also, the male lead is really a mentor to the female lead, and female lead really looks up to him and protects him. What a great start to a developing relationship! This has the best Cdrama plot during the start of this year so far.

And if you're still hesitating to watch this, yes, it's way better than Speed and Love (even if I was obsessing over He Yu) and Shine on Me (I forced myself to watch it since not a lot of choices). This has a tighter script and more mature overall.

P.S. Did I mention the very creative intro with the fitting ost? Here's to hoping the beautiful VR set will be used more!

After watch Speed and Love and seeing Jiang Mu’s outfits, is really fresh to see Xiguang’s outfit.. she really…
Yeah, the fl's clothes in Speed and Love are too 12-year-oldish or lolita style which just stands out more compared to the rugged and hot outfit of the ml. It actually sounds more interesting if we switch pairings of this drama and Speed and Love. Performance-wise, He Yu and Zhao Jin Mai have a much closer level of acting prowess.

I'm trying hard to give this a drama a shot, but the first few episodes is like watching paint dry. Which episode does it get faster?

The Drama was very well written. ML's character was perfect especially the change when he moved to China. FL (Esther…
I'll back you up on this. There was no subtlety in her performance. A well-seasoned actor would know how to make the character come to life by performing naturally. Take Jin Zhao's perfect character as an example. He Yu could've easily made him look arrogant, tryhard, and stoic since it was a Wattapad character, but because of his demeanor, charisma , and microexpressions, he made the character more compelling than on paper.

Also, I actually thought the 2fl outshined her. I would've love a spinoff with her as the fl lol.

Final verdict after finishing SAL:I love the love story between Zhao and Mu, but other elements like all the racings…
That's funny. I'm the complete opposite. I definitely turned off my brain since I didn't think it had a plot, but I finished it because I enjoyed the Fast and Furious scenes featuring a very hot He Yu who could also fight. It was like watching a long music video, so the Thailand scenes I was tuning in, but the China one I was fastforwarding and zoning out. I also enjoyed the friendship between the males more compared the romance (okay, I did like the teasing since He Yu was killing it lol).

I think the first time He Yu is visually compatible with the the female lead. I wish they can work together again, but in a more mature drama.
