another absolute masterpiece out of china this year
h.o.l.y.s.h.i.t. this show is INSANE. idek where to begin honestly. oh i know, THE FUCKING CAST???? insane. these actors are INSANE. the chemistry is so real it genuinely makes you question everything. seeing the shift in both of the actors in the episodes after the time skip is crazy. like these actors are probably some of the best actors i have ever seen in a bl. they are so talented bro like i actually cant. the writing is so clever, the schemes are so well thought out, and these characters are just so complex. its so exciting and refreshing to see a bl thats more than just two guys randomly deciding to like each other. this show was DEPTH and i am so here for it. i would literally be dying for a new episode every single day of the week. this show had me HOOKED. im obsessed another 10/10 from china!!!!Was this review helpful to you?

absolutely peak toxic yaoi
this review is going to be a little bit biased because this show was my first ever (non anime) bl. i have such vivid memories of randomly finding the first episode of this show the day after it released, and subsequently falling into the bl rabbit hole i have been in for the past two and a half years. so, with all that being said, let's get into it. this show is not "fluffy" in the way most bls are. these two men are in an EXTREMELY toxic situation. mizuki is very clearly using yoh, and yoh is holding a grudge against him. its kind of hard to explain the dynamic, but basically they both really wanna fuck each other, mizuki really likes yoh as a person, and yoh kinda likes mizuki as a person but he also kinda hates him but he likes his face and likes fucking him. confusing? yes. but, it works for me. i think that what really did it for me with this series was seeing how mizuki ACTUALLY cared for yoh. that episode when manju comes to visit yoh, and yoh ends up wasted. like, seeing yoh being all clingy with mizuki ITS SO CUTE UGHHHHHH like omg i think i've rewatched that episode a hundred times because its so damn adorable. the flashbacks to their college days are also so cute too. i feel like the actors really did a great job here. these characters aren't super easy to play, and the actors really brought the characters to life. this bl is so dear to me, it's the reason i'm here, watching bls at 3:00 when i have exams. it's a really great show, with a complex plot that is more than what it looks. i mean it when i say this show is PEAK toxic yaoi. it doesn't get much better than this. Was this review helpful to you?

its not going too far to say this show is perfect in every single way.
oh. my. god. i have watched this show probably around 127 times and i'll still go back and watch it again. its. just. that. good. no seriously, it is very very close to being one of my favorite bls of all time. the story is a little basic, yes, but its just so damn cute i literally want to cry. THESE ACTORS HAVE SO MUCH CHEMISTRY BRO. the connection felt so real. i loved how green flag everyone was (except for that one scene.. y'all know which one i'm talking about). it was such a fluff-fest, i was having a good time for pretty much the whole show. i really enjoyed how the characters weren't literal dumbasses. the arguments felt real and not forced, and the whole thing with coming out to taeseong's mom was handled so well. all in all, this show is fantastic. one of the easiest bls to rewatch since theres no stupid characters ragebaiting the whole time. Was this review helpful to you?
best acting i have ever seen in a kbl
oh my GOD this show is actually so good it makes me want to cry. these actors are so incredibly talented like kbls are usually so bad at getting actors with natural chemistry that doesn't feel like they grabbed two statues and told them to be gay. this show feels so REAL and i absolutely adore it for that. by far one of the best bls out of 2025, i seriously can not recommend it enough. Was this review helpful to you?

pondphuwin carried i said what i said
i literally only watched this show for pondphuwin and i had little to no interest in the rest of the characters. well, thats not entirely true. tan and fang (aouboom) were really cute, especially aou as tan like OH MY BABY he was so cute i loved tan so much like i want a tan he is so green flag. winnysatang were cute, i liked them enough in my school president, and they were fine here. satang as toey was kinda annoying sometimes not because of anything he did wrong, im sure he was just following the script but like.. sometimes it was a little annoying. dont get me wrong though, i still really enjoyed q and toey. i'll be honest i didnt even try watching markpoon's scenes at all. theres just something about those two together that straight up does NOT work (ik they arent paired together anymore and i hate to say it but i honestly think its for the best) so as soon as they had a solo scene i was skipping sorry!! the three side couples were cute (minus markpoons characters) but what i really want to talk about is pondphuwin's characters.guys. I WANT A PHUM. I WANT ONE. I LOVE HIM SO MUCH. HES SO CUTE. I LOVE POND NARAVIT SO FUCKING MUCH. EVERY ROLE HE HAS EVER PLAYED IS SO PERFECT. I LOVE PHUMPEEM MORE THAN YOU CAN EVER KNOW. okay now that i got that out of my system, i'll actually discuss the characters. their first meeting is still hilarious to me i dont even care pondphuwin are so funny together like i remember cackling watching that scene at 3am it was so fucking funny. honestly, i loved phum from the first moment i saw him. now, do i also just really really really REALLY love pond? like yeah, but phum is so baby like idk i love him guys im sorry. peem was a grower. he reminded me of a poor and less spoiled version of neung from never let me go, which was kind of fun. he was a little annoying at first, but maybe i was just annoyed at first because if i had phum chasing after me like that we would be married within a month sorry not sorry. but after like the episode 4 mark i was genuinely having the time of my life with phumpeem. i cant get over pondphuwin's chemistry together why are they MARRIED bro (im kidding) but like they have such good onscreen chemistry its always so fun to watch. once peem stopped hating phum's guts i was like crying from joy whenever they came on screen. i cant even express how dear phumpeem are to me. the only thing about their whole storyline that pissed me off was that random other dude that wanted peem. lowkey off topic but why do phuwin's characters always have so much rizz. i swear to god, in every single goddamn pondphuwin bl some random other dude shows up tryna steal pond's man like back off he has a boyfriend!!!! that other student gave me war flashbacks to ben from never let me go (who is quite literally my least favorite character in any bl literally ever i hate him so much) so i honestly skipped most of his scenes. but other than that, i feel like phumpeem are so cute. if i were to rank pondphuwin's characters so far, they would probably be third (behind palmneung and theepeach). phum reminded me of mohk from fish upon the sky and peem reminded me of neung from never let me go, so it kinda felt like i was watching an au of the two so that was fun!!! overall, the pondphuwin scenes stole the show. my god do i love those two #myparents4life
in conclusion, this show is really good. i forgot to mention most of the plot, but it was basically just 16 episodes of dudes flirting and being college students. idk why it felt like lowkey nothing of importance happened over the entire course of the show besides boys dating and also peem getting an art gallery. but anyways, the show was a good time. if you want a plot heavy and super interesting + complex characters, go somewhere else. this show was a good time, but thats it. turn your brain off, watch pondphuwin be cute, but dont expect anything crazy from this series. honestly, if this show was JUST pondphuwin (and maybe aouboom as a sideplot) the show would probably be rated a 10, but sadly, the other side couples lowkey pissed me off a lot so i had to dock a point :( still WATCH THE SHOW IF YOU HAVENT especially if you love pondphuwin like i do just lowk skip all the other scenes without them you wont be missing that much

used to be one of my favs, but it has been outdone in recent years
this bl is an absolute classic. its super cute, and despite it having a really weird name, its a very wholesome and overall enjoyable watch. when i first watched it i was blown away at how well the actors did, but after a recent rewatch, i realize just how much bls have stepped up their game in recent years. i mean, these dudes didnt or barely kissed on screen at all, which feels like a letdown since the entire show felt like a buildup to that. the story is really cute, but i will be honest adachi and kurosawa both had some incredibly cringe moments that made me want to physically crawl out of my skin. keeping with the things i didn't enjoy with this show, WHAT was that second couple. i know there was supposed to be an age gap of some sort but it felt borderline illegal to me. the younger guy highkey looked like 12 years old i was uncomfortable during all of their scenes. the actors didn't do anything wrong necessarily, i think it was more a mistake on the stylists and makeup artists for making the younger guy look WAYYYYY too young. the younger guy at work i think his name was rokkaku or something good lord he pissed me off SO bad. the girl side character was super cute i actually really liked her, i wanted her to have a yuri subplot but i guess thats too much to ask for. overall, this show was really carried by the two lead actors, they did a really great job. this show feels a little outdated now, since bls have gotten a lot better with having real kisses and shows that don't treat the word "gay" like a curse word, but for being from 2020, this is a cute little show that's definitely worth a watch. Was this review helpful to you?

its a staple bl for a reason!
this show is just so good. theres not much more to say. the cast is great, the story is good, and its an overall really fun and easy-going watch. i'll be honest, the coder (i do NOT remember his name sorry) kinda pissed me off like a lot, i get it that was what his character was meant to do but there were certain times during the show where i was like damn why does the older guy even want you. but the chemistry between the two leads is undeniable. i really did love seeing their cute moments, and that last scene of the last episode is so stinkin cute. this show is definitely a super beginner friendly bl, its fluffy, short, and easy to swallow. def recommend (if you somehow haven't seen it yet) for a fun one-night binge. Was this review helpful to you?

i cried so hard i genuinely thought i was going to puke
i cant even explain the heartbreak this show gave me. i only watched it because i knew the actor that played koichi played my favorite side character in takara-kun & amagi-kun. i started the show with honestly pretty low expectations, thinking i would just be watching anotehr cute bl like takara-kun & amagi-kun. good lord how wrong i was. koichi dying within MINUTES of the first episode was so shocking i had to close my laptop screen and just stare at my wall. the whole show was honestly so well done. these actors were COMMITTED they played their parts so incredibly well. the ending really did it for me. when i tell you i cried for DAYS i mean it. i was in distress, texting like eight people telling them i genuinely coudln't go on because mitsuru was going to grow old without koichi with him. i'm still not totally over it. this show was such a sucker punch to the gut, so i'll likely never rewatch it, but it's still an amazing show. the only reason its not a 10/10 is because mitsuru pmo sometimes. Was this review helpful to you?
it was good. but definitely not great
im ngl this show was soooo boring. the actors had great chemistry but literally it was such a hard watch because i kept wanting to pick up my phone. the music was whatever, the story was whatever, the characters were whatever. i feel like now that we have ball boy tactics this show doesn't stand out as a basketball themed bl. definitely give it a watch if you have the time, but dont put it at the top of your priorities. its as bland as you would expect from the average kbl.Was this review helpful to you?

the most confused i've ever felt during a film and the most moved i have ever felt afterwards
this movie is such an incredible experience that its honestly hard to sum up in words. during my first watch i was completely lost. i had no idea what was going on when there was the random cut to the okinawa trip, and the random forum intercuts that happened throughout. i was the most lost with the apple stabbing thing, but after a second watch and also a crap ton of note taking it all made sense. this movie is a nonlinear narrative, which means the events do not happen in chronological order. though confusing at first, i feel like this was the right choice for this story. honestly this movie is a very uncomfortable watch, i mean we literally are just watching a poor middle school boy get completely tormented both online and in real life by this boy who was once his close friend. thats literal nightmare fuel but it was so well done. i loved the side character of the girl, and when she ended up killing herself i genuinely cried so hard i had to pause the movie. the aesthetics of this movie feel like at time capsule of a long gone time period, i feel like im in a time machine while watching it. the cinematography is off the charts as well. the whole movie is absolutely ethereal and breathtaking. overall, this film is so much more than just an old movie made in japan, its a movie that encapsulates an era of japan that is now long gone, and now we get to see a glimpse of the lives of those who lived in it.Was this review helpful to you?

literally how does anyone like this show
good lord how does this show have such high ratings. like genuinely, i NEVER rate bls under 5/10 because i feel bad, but oh my god does this show deserve it. somehow this show is only seven episodes, and i say somehow because watching this show felt like a marathon that was never-ending, and i felt a huge wave of relief when i finished it. let me tell you exactly what this show is: the glamorization of adultery and cheating on your significant other and then justifying it because of "true love". my biggest issue with this show is how the girlfriend of the "straight" guy is painted as the bad guy. so WHAT your girlfriend doesn't wanna have sex. if that's such a deal breaker for you, how about you, idk, BREAK UP WITH HER???? my god this man is so fucking dumb. literally, if your girlfriend is uncomfortable having sex with you maybe you should just talk to HER about it instead of emailing this random dude who isn't actually random but you dont know that and then going and CHEATING on your girlfriend with said random dude. like genuinely it is insane to me how anyone can sympathize with these characters. cheating is wrong literally no matter what. your girlfriend does NOT owe you anything, including sex. if you can't handle that, do. not. continue. dating. her. its not fair to keep this poor girl around while you go and fuck this random guy because you just NEED to fuck someone like this is so weird. im sorry but this show felt so like inherently misogynistic. basically it felt like the whole show was blaming a girl for not wanting to have sex with her boyfriend, so she DESERVED to get cheated on. and then we're all supposed to be okay with the guy cheating on his girlfriend because he cheated with another guy. yeah okay.. in case you cant tell i actually hate this show like im typing this in a rage. i think it's been like 6 months since i first watched this and i still get physically angry when i think about it. the ONLY redeeming quality is at least the actors all did a good job, but good acting can not save a terrible plot with insufferable characters that make stupid choices. if you have made it this far into my review and you haven't seen the show yet please, i beg of you, listen to me: DO. NOT. WASTE. YOUR. TIME. ON. THIS. FUCKASS. BL. unless you enjoy watching people cheating on their significant others and then seeing other people excuse that behavior, skip this one and watch something ACTUALLY worth your time. Was this review helpful to you?

the show that saved my summer
i'm writing this review a few months after revenged love finished. i thought that maybe the magic i felt while watching it would fade with time, but i was so wrong. this show, this bl, is so dear to me its hard to explain. i cant let go of chi cheng and wei wei. genuinely, this show got me through this summer. it actually gave me something to look forward to on mondays and tuesdays. honestly, the characters in this show are so peak. wei wei is HILARIOUS i love him so much he is so me. chi cheng is a bit of a red flag, yes, but COME ONNNNNN hes such a sweetie on the inside. he's such a mamas boy with wei wei's mom its so adorable. bro when wei wei's mom died and they showed the wreath that chi cheng left at her funeral saying "love your son, chi cheng" i literally LOST it. im crying just thinking about it thats how bad it is. i just love wei wei and chi cheng so freaking much. they are so perfect for each other, watching their relationship bloom and seeing in real time how wei wei's feelings for chi cheng grow was incredible. the progression of how chi cheng refers to wei wei, first wu so wei, then dabao, then we get the iconic wei wei. god its so pure i cant. i also LOVED the second couple, chengyu is the most perfect human being alive i swear hes so good for xiao shuai. speaking of xiao shuai I LOVE HIS FRIENDSHIP WITH WEI WEI SO MUCH they're so funny, especially in the beginning. i feel like revenged love was a little bit slow to pick up, but around the 4th episode things got GOOD. i cant lie tho, towards the end of the show when wei wei and chi cheng were fighting and then when chi cheng got arrested i was STRESSING and not always having a good time. but that doesn't matter because in those same later episodes i got to see my absolute DIVA wang shuo which makes everything worth it. i dont care what anyone says, i love wang shuo. should he have tried to interfere with chi cheng and wei wei's relationship? no, of course not. was it wrong and kinda insane of him to kiss chi cheng without his consent? like, yes, but also, HES COMPLEX OKAY idk i probably shouldn't love him like i do but he just feels so relateable in how he cant let go of chi cheng. this is starting to sound like a rant so let me close this out. this show is my absolute favorite bl of all time. there is no topping this one, at least not for a while. the tears i shed during this show is UNMATCHED. the characters, the plot, the acting, the writing, the MUSIC (hello that ost is literally iconic as fuck) its all just so perfect. ziyu and tian xuning absolutely hit it out of the PARK with their acting here. same with zhan xuan and liu xuancheng, and liu jun later on. these actors are so talented. the plot is so interesting and fun to watch, the characters are fun and they are played by incredible actors, the writing is fantastic and keeps you engaged for the whole show, and of course, that soundtrack. i dont usually pay attention to the music in bls but i couldn't help but fall in love with the ost for this show, sung by the one and only ziyu. i love that song so much its literally on like four of my playlists. everyone knows this intro, its SO iconic, and its so good as well. to wrap this very long, wordy, and confusing review up, revenged love isn't perect necessarily, but its perfect to me. it has all the elements that makes a bl great, and i will always come back to rewatch my favorite episodes in dark times. if you somehow haven't seen revenged love this is your sign baddie to GO FREAKING WATCH IT drop everything pull three all-nighters in a row idc what you gotta do queen just WATCH THIS SHOW NOW (jk but seriously this show is so goated you have to watch it soon). Was this review helpful to you?

gmmtv's best show of all time and its not even close
okay so i just want to say that it usually takes me 2-3 weeks to finish thai shows bc i have the attention span of a five year old, and i also have lectures + i am an athlete. im telling you this so that you will understand just how hooked i had to be on this show because i finished it in less than two days. TWO FUCKING DAYS. no skips, no 2x speed, nothing. i was so addicted to this show that i genuinely could not stop watching it. this show has 3 (or maybe 4 i can't really tell if pertar were like official) main couples and i had a great time with ALL of them. while all the plots definitely relate, they aren't fully intertwined the whole time, so i'll break this up into paragraphs for each couple.1. kim + mon (chokunaston) my babies
GUYS KIM AND MON WERE SO CUTE LIKE I WANTED TO CRY THE WHOLE TIME THEY WERE ON SCREEN THEY WERE SO SWEET IT MADE MY STOMACH HURT ADFJLAKLSDFSDKFJ ADF I LOVE THEM SO MUCH MY BABEIS. okay but seriously, kim and mon were by FAR my absolute favorite couple in the show, and honestly, they're probably my favorite bl couple of all time. this is chokunaston's first show together and they killed it SO hard like WOAH. these two have so much potential you already know im hype as hell for their upcoming show. kim is so freaking cute. greenest of green flags he is so obsessed with mon its hilarious. mon is probably my fav bl character ever he is so me. together, kim and mon are so sweet. they had such a cute confession with the giraffe doll like i squealed like a 12 year old girl at that scene and im not even ashamed because that is the only appropriate response to that. kim also delivered one of my favorite lines ever that i quote daily "he reads shakespeare, i read doremon" that is SO funny to me. i really appreciated that kim and mon got together within like three episodes instead of dragging it on for ten episodes. sometimes i lose interest in characters once they get together but it was the exact opposite with these two they were just so cute together i never got bored of them. i need a bf as obsessed with me as kim is with mon. that one scene where mon is trying to study and kim is just staring at his face for an hour genuinely makes me laugh every single time i rewatch it, and you already KNOW that i have rewatched this show at least ten times. i also really did enjoy the dynamic between kim and mon's mom. usually parents in bls kinda piss me off, but the actress who played mon's mom was really good, and she made the character make a lot of sense. i think it was really cute watching kim do literally anything to win over mon's mom because he was just SO in love. i hate red/black flags in bls and kim + mon were SO far from that. they were so soft and so fluffy. the rest of the show was soft and fluffy too, but these two REALLY delivered the fluff. this show made me fall in love with chokunaston, and i am SO excited to see their futures. gmmtv please please PLEASE give them a character i would spend thousands like i need a chokunaston doll to be friends with my permpoon!!!
2. kit + shane (lukemick)
kit and shane started off good but ended AMAZING. i'll be honest, i was REALLY suspicious about how these two would work together. i've known about mick for a while and i didn't think that he was really made for bl. while i didn't know a lot about luke before watching this, i knew enough to the point where i was a bit nervous. in my opinion, these two started off a little rocky. i mean, its blatantly obvious that these two are like super mega straight, which isn't like an ISSUE, but it was kinda glaring. however, as the show went on, you could tell they were getting more used to playing their roles. i think that kit and shane got cute after shane stopped being all uptight so like around episode 5-6. honestly, i just loved kit as a person, so i didn't really care about shane until they got together. i will say i was genuinely shocked when they kissed in episode TWO. like woah. but honestly, these two were so sweet. i would say that even though mdl lists kim and mon as main characters as well as kit and shane, kit and shane were the MAIN main characters. i will say i felt for shane's struggles in trying to figure out what he wanted to do in college because trust me buddy, we've all been there. towards the end when all the stress about college was happening, i really loved the connection between kit and shane. it really did feel real, they were really sweet together, and the way they comforted each other was so AWWWW. also, shane and his cat were so cute like ugh so freaking adorable. i loved that cat (sorry im blanking on its name idk why) but that cat was literally kit and shane's child i swear. all in all, lukemick did a very good job with this show. while i was a little nervous about how they woud do with their parts in the beginning, they really got it together and delivered phenomenal performances towards the middle/end. while kit and shane aren't quite as perfect as kim and mon were, they were still so fun to watch.
3. tan + nat (podpapang) aka the teachers
okay so they were cute! honestly, i dont think i have that much to say about these two. they were cute! i enjoyed their scenes. were they my least favorite couple in the show? like yeah, but i still love them. i thought their connection seemed really genuine and sweet. they were so wholesome, but then again, the whole show was. the actors did a great job and thats all that really matters.
4. per + tar (kenpaul)
so like im gonna be honest when i say i was so confused as to what these two were while watching the show, but i THINK they were something. like they kissed yes but they never officially got together (at least from what i remember) so like.. i know kenpaul are paired together but idk yall.. per and tar were SO CUTE tho, i really loved tar paul is such a cutie pie. unironically paul is my favorite person like ever he is so cute and so sweet off camera and on camera he fit the role of tar so well UGH hes so cute it makes me mad. everytime tar came on screen i felt violent because i just wanted to give him the biggest hug ever cuteness aggression is real and my proof is the existence of paul and his portrayal of tar. i wish these two got more screentime because they were so cute and funny, especially at the beach when they got lost like BRUH i love them so much. honestly, these two need their own show because i would eat that shit UP i love kenpaul i love paul my baby like how is he so cute my baby my baby you're my baby say it to me.
conclusion time!!! so to wrap this up, i think i should talk about the overarching plot and all that. i guess i just HAVE to. so lets be real here, this show's plot is very simple. nothing crazy is happening, its just a cute fluffy high school love story between the two main couples that are students and also one about teachers (and a mini one thats also students). there wasn't a lot of unnecessary drama which i really appreciated. like, all disagreements made a lot of sense and nothing felt forced. yes, kim could be a little dramatic sometimes which would cause issues with mon for like 20 minutes, but he's so cute that he can get away with it like yall i do NOT play about kim and mon. honestly, one thing i really loved about this show was just how colorful and vibrant it was. i really liked how the characters didn't have uniforms at their school, and how nothing ever looked dull. all the color is a welcome change from other high school set gmmtv shows (my school president comes to mind). overall, this show is PHENOMENAL. it is up there for my favorite bls of all time, and it is most definitely my favorite thai bl. this is my comfort show, i rewatch it whenever im sad because kim and mon bring me so much serotonin its unhealthy. i wish my high school experience was like this bruh WHY DIDNT I HAVE A KIM UGH. anyways, to officially conclude: WATCH THE SHOW IF YOU HAVENT. it is such a good time, i was smiling and giggling the ENTIRE TIME and i rewatch it at least once a week. boys in love altered my brain chemistry, and i am so excited to see these actor pairings moving forward because these boys have SO MUCH potential!!!

perfect 10 liners was absolutely a TEN.
so to be completely honest here, i only wanted to watch this show for perthsanta. i have been so obsessed with both of them for years, and i have wanted to watch this one since it released, but i pushed it off until late 2025. with that being said, perthsanta were not the only great thing about this show. the show's name fits so well, because honestly, i haven't had this much fun watching a thai bl in a little bit. i'll break up my review into 3 different parts, each part focusing on a different main couple.1. arc + arm (forcebook) episodes 1-8
im not always the BIGGEST forcebook fan. i enjoyed them in only friends and in a boss and a babe, but they never seemed like anything special. however, they were absolutely ADORABLE in this show like genuinely oh my god. arm is the perfect character for book like seriously he was so good at this role it was so fun. force did a great job as arc as well. i feel like these characters resemble their actors very well, so nothing felt awkward or weird. i will admit their story was the most cliche of the three, but i didn't even care. yes arc being a jerk to arm because he liked him was kinda annoying at first but you have to get past the first few episodes before you see him being sweet like UGHHHHHHH they were so cute. even after their main episodes were done, i would get so excited when they would show up later on in their cute little scenes. i love arcarm so much, i would say they were the weakest couple of the three, but that is all due to the story. forcebook were great, their chemistry is always rock solid, and their story was a great way to get acclimated to the story. however, if you find yourself getting bored during their episodes, juts skip to episode 9, it'll pick up with yothagun and you honestly won't miss that much.
2. yotha + gun (perthsanta) episodes 9-16
okay so, yeah, I LOVED THIS ARC SO FUCKING MUCH OASDFNDJFA;DFEO FJA WEF WE i love perthsanta they are so freaking cute like i could go on for ages i love them so much they are sososososososoos dear to me. my love for perthsanta might make me a bit biased, but i think its safe to say these two crushed it here. perth seems to play the same character in every show, and its no exception here. yotha reminds me a lot of chopper from never let me go, and i also feel like hes similar to tawan from me and thee (ik me and thee is newer but still) so i think that perth is very good at roles like this, and by "roles like this" i mean roles of the reserved, kind-of-an-asshole-but-not-with-the-boy-he-likes type of role. yotha was absolutely an asshole to literally everyone else in the entire WORLD besides gun, but i thought his feelings for gun seemed really genuine and sweet. the word "beagle" still makes me wanna cry sometimes and i still say "don't have nightmares" whenever someone tells me goodnight like the yotha effect is REAL. santa also did a really fantastic job playing gun. honestly, gun was such a ray of sunshine and every time he would come on screen i wanted to giggle like a middle school girl he is just SO CUTE. unlike a lot of overly nice and cute bl characters i never got annoyed with gun. he wasn't dumb, and i think his nightmare trauma stuff is actually pretty interesting. i do have a few complaints about this arc tho.. (lowk really big spoiler coming up) WHY DID YOTHA KISS WA AT THE BAR THAT ONE TIME LIKE WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK WAS UP WITH THAT??? i'll be honest like i didn't really care much for aouboom's characters (boom was wa but lowkey i forget what aou's character was named) but oh my god when i tell you i threw my laptop across my bed when i saw yotha kiss wa like i MEAN it. i was SO mad i was getting war flashbacks to wu so wei watching chi cheng kiss wang shuo in that one scene like i was ENRAGED. idk if i missed something, but that scene had like no reason for happening. both of them liked other people (wa had a fucking BOYFRIEND for gods sake) so like i was pissed bc it felt so forced. also gun was mad for maybe like ONE episode and then he was fine, and honestly yotha's apology was so booty cheeks like come on man you LIKE him right??? idk that felt weird, but other than that they were super cute. actually wait i also didn't like how yotha said "not saying anything means yes" that one time like EWEWEWWEWEWEW #consentishotassaultisnot i know gun was insinuating yes but that line icked me out so bad like yotha please you're so cute 90% of the time don't mess this up!!! my last critique of this arc is that i just kinda dont give a shit about yotha and faifa's mommy issues. sorry not sorry but mommy issues in bls bore the crap out of me, so i lowkey skipped like every scene with the mom, also their shit ass mom is played by the same actress who played gun's (fourth's) absolutely GOATED mom in my school president so i just couldn't take it seriously because that actress will always be gun's mom from msp and she will always be the best mom ever. but other than those three complaints, this arc was my absolute fav. not only do i love perthsanta, i also love the depth of the story. the introduction of aouboom's characters and how aou's character was like a dickwad was pretty fun, tho seeing aou playing that role after seeing him play tan in we are was SUCH whiplash like holy switchup!! i will touch on aouboom's characters later, but now i want to discuss the final arc.
3. faifa + wine (juniormark) episodes 17-24
i was expecting this arc to be my least favorite because juniormark were the only actors in the show that i hadn't seen much of before, but holy hell i was SO wrong. i want to start off by saying i am SO glad that someone in the show was finally like "wait you all like dudes and thats like.. normal?" wine was so real for that. i loved wine so much more than i ever expected, he was the only normal one in this show i swear. his confession to faifa in the bathroom that he likes guys lowkey made me cry my eyes out and not JUST bc it reminds me a lot of me but also because mark played that scene so well it felt so fucking real. like i felt like wine was going through insane emotional turmoil and i felt for him so hard. faifa was also the biggest sweetie pie of all time he was SO CUTE SFSDFSDLKFJSDKFJDKLFJSLKDFJ oh my god wine you are so lucky. like faifa might be the biggest green flag i've ever seen in a bl ever period point blank (maybe besides kim from boys in love aka my other baby) but like faifa was so cute and fluffy and soft and baby like im sorry i just love this boy so much these two were so cute together. i do feel like their episodes could drag on a little bit, but every moment with faifawine was a happy one, so i wasn't complaining. what did kinda piss me off was how much screentime klao and wa took away from faifa and wine like.. im glad i got to see my aouboom but AT WHAT COST. just give them a spinoff at this point like!! anyways, i really enjoyed this arc as well, and i think that these were the fluffiest episodes of the whole show
quick little discussion on klao and wa!!
soooooo i love aouboom like sosososososososo much but im being so honest when i saw i did not give a flying fuck aboout klao and wa the entire show. i mean, klao pissed me off a LOT ( which is sad bc aou is one of my fav actors ever but whatever) and wa also kinda annoyed me. i get that they connect a lot to yotha's past but honestly i just did not care like im sorry. i guess i was happy when they got engaged but like.. i would've prefered arcarm get married or smth like these two didnt even matter until halfway through the show anyways!
to conclude, i want to say that even tho it may sound like i have a lot of negatives to say, those negatives are very minor and do not impact the show very much at all. this show is 24 episodes and i watched it in the span of like 3-4 days DURING FINALS WEEK so yeah its safe to say i was really obsessed with it. i had so much fun with every single arc, every single story line, and all my complaints are just nitpicks so.. yeah! if you made it this far: PLEASE WATCH THIS SHOW OH MY GOD!!!! its simple, easy to digest, and fun. i had a blast, and you def will too!!

its so fluffy im gonna die
yeah sooooooo.. im obsessed. this show didn't seem like anything special to me when i first heard about it. all i knew was it was about a popular boy falling for his very unpopular classmate, and i knew the actor of hioki had been in smells like green spirit. so when i got into this show halfway through its airing, i had medium to low expectations. with that being said, this show is really good. the plot is.. ehhhhhhhh. i mean, its not bad by any means, but the plot is pretty cliche if you ask me. popular boy for some unknown reason becomes obsessed with his unpopular classmate and chases after him. we have seen this 127,000 times before. however, the plot wasn't BAD, and the mediocre plot still allowed for the cast to really deliver. oh my god these actors were PHENOMENAL. kan hideyoshi hit it out of the fucking park playing watarai. it really seemed like he had actual feelings for hioki, which i can't always say in other bls. the chemistry between kan hideyoshi and fujimoto kodai is really sweet and genuine. the characters were super cute, and the actors did a great job playing them. not only did i love the main characters, i also ADORED the side ones! i was really glad that there was no mean kid in watarai's friend group that would hate hioki or something, because that was a big worry of mine early on. the friends were really cute and supportve, which kinda just added to the overall fluffy vibe. except for a couple moments where fellow female classmates were jealous of hioki, there was not a ton of girl drama which i always appreciate. there actually wasn't that much drama at all. i was having a good time for 99% of the show. the conflicts were solved very quickly and the conflicts were already few and far between to begin with. overall, this show is super cute and fluffy. what the story is lacking is made up for with the great acting and chemistry between the two main leads and also all of the side characters. Was this review helpful to you?
