Why are they always showing the romance ... Like 80% of the episodes is dedicated to that. The low amount of screen…
As I mentioned above - Well, considering that Joon and So bin are the first main leads and Soo Hyun is “only” second lead and Young Ran/Mi Joo have supporting roles, it makes perfectly sense why there’s more screen time with Joon/Seo Bin. And thus the viewer will see more of the romance part - as of now. Who knows what the writers are thinking? Maybe they will focus on the remaining episodes more with other relationships or developments. We will see..

The romance between Jun/Sobin is mindnumbingly boring. I tuned in for equal shares of main leads, but gets 80%…
Well, considering that Joon and So bin are the first main leads and Soo Hyun is “only” second lead and Young Ran/Mi Joo have supporting roles, it makes perfectly sense why there’s more screen time with Joon/Seo Bin. I don’t think the romance between J/SB is boring, it has only started and he’s started to open up to her. There’s plenty of room for character development. Joon’s whole backstory with his parents and his brother also wasn’t mentioned yet to her.

Can someone who has read the webtoon explain to me Jun’s brother and why he hates Jun so much?
I haven’t read it but I think he tries to protect him and he cares for him. He just doesn’t show him that. I don’t know why, though.

The FL changed boyfriends that quickly ?? for real her all time boyfriend was her childhood friend and just like…
Hm, I’m seeing it a bit differently. I think Chan Ki wasn’t such a good friend to So Bin. He uses her, making false promises (telling her he’s coming soon home, when he isn’t and he knew she would wait for him and clean his apartment), or keeping her by his side and not telling her outright, that he has no intentions of dating her - he didn’t tell her that, because it would’ve changed their relationship. So he always kept her in the dark and she stayed with him. Joon is full of flaws but he apologized to her and seemed sincere when he told her about his feelings. I think what Joon craves the most is simply being loved unconditionally. Because with him, there’s always a condition. I think being friends with Soo Hyun and especially with So Bin this is going to change. I guess we will see the changes in the next episodes. And episode six (being the last of the first half of episodes) determines how the rest of this drama will play out, so we will see.

Can someone tell me if it's bl ?
So far, it’s not. I doubt, it will be. Joon seems to have feelings for So Bin and is interested in her. Although she’s skeptical and doubtful, it seems he’s wooing her starting from episode 5. We will see how that will work out.

It would be unrealistic if Joon would be act like a normal person. He’s suffered from physical and mental abuse…
Yes, he gets these triggers which causes reliving the abuse (flashbacks) all over again. This is one of many symptoms of an untreated PTSD (which takes years to get treated).

AND that is because he is a human with a trauma :) which is realistic he is flawed and need therapy and love imo…
Ugh, I hope that this isn’t the case. From my experience with kdramas, it’s from episodes 4, 5 onwards, how the direction of the story will be displayed till the end, so I hope we’ll see some healing before the romance part takes place (if there is one).

Idk if it's just me but the male lead is annoying I get that he has trauma but he does not care about anyone's…
It would be unrealistic if Joon would be act like a normal person. He’s suffered from physical and mental abuse from early childhood and he has PTSD because of that. So in a way with coping all that he’s manipulative (and narcissistic). He needs therapy asap. I like it that he’s shown like that.

Damn why yall want this to be a BL so badly, go watch a bl then. I personally am really liking this. The romance…
Actually I think none of the protagonists are ready for a relationship, and it would be unrealistic from a writer’s point of view for either one of them to have one right now. I think they need a lot of maturing and healing and solving their issues before having a relationship (i think it also doesn’t really matter, if it’s a bl or straight relationship). Romance is also not the main focus of this drama, and I guess if there’s any it will be shown after episode 6 at the earliest.

Is it explained in the webtoon why Joon’s parents hate him, abuse him and are hostile towards him? I mean, is there anything beside him not being on the same level academically with his brother? This would be just a lame excuse! Why didn’t anyone report the parents? And more importantly - is there like a "redemption arc" for Joon (like he sets himself free of his family or something like that?) I think his brother tries to protect him but fails to do it in a compassionate, empathic way. I mean, what’s the deal with them? It’s the root of Joons trauma and I think as long as the trauma isn’t solved, there won’t be any real character development or healing for him.

Idk how far the drama will go, but yeah it's true. Well, I guess sociopath actually fit him better since he sometimes…
Really? I‘ve assumed he will be obsessed with him in a kind of healthy way, like he‘s desperate for a genuine and close relationship and not in a psychotic, unhealthy way. How does his relationship with So Bin comes into play if he‘s like that? That doesn‘t make much sense, because it would be also not a healthy relationship with her as well. But we‘ll see how the drama is written.

I guess you kinda misunderstood some things from the next episode preview. It was indeed Soohyun that asked Sobin…
I remembered at the retreat she told the guys that she was strong and could piggyback the drunk guy, that’s because I’ve thought somehow that So Bin brings Joon back home. But thanks for the clarification! :D
On At a Distance, Spring Is Green Jun 17, 2021
Hello, I’m new here! I really like this drama and the actors are really good - I haven’t read the webtoon, so I can’t say anything about the relationship between the protagonists. What I have seen so far is that is seems, Joon craves for positive attention and that’s probably the reason why he is so intrigued by Soo Hyun, because he seems unfazed by him. I’m not so sure, if he has feelings for him other than affection. I think he is amused by So Bin and is curious/amused about her, because she also doesn’t have a lot of friends. I can relate to her, because I had problems too with being an introvert. The teaser for the next episode indicates that Joom thinks Soo Hyun brought him back home, when I think it was So Bin. She has a one-sided crush on her childhood friend and Joon seems to want to help her getting over the childhood friend. So maybe that’s when their romance/ close friendship begins. Or maybe not and I guessed wrong. What do you think?
