It was not shown explicitly. But apparently he jumped out of the car when it exploded also the suit which was given by linshi told him that it will give him 20 secs to escape death. So connecting the points he wasn't in the car. And the officer Lu rescued him and took him somewhere for treatment
With this level of acting, I was wondering why in the world didn't He yu appear before as a main ratger acting a support and not even a support.
