i know exactly what you mean dont worry. around me machismo is still heavy nd wildly accepted. the woman takes care of the house nd blahblahblah the man is in charge.. in recent years women are finding their own way now and are able to hold their own. not saying machismo nd oppression doesnt exist anymore because OH LORD it def does.. but compared to how it was just 10 years ago u can see changes.. even in TV u can now see women fighting for their place. it just sucks because they want the general population to continue behave a certain way. They do not want outside forces to influence their way of thinking. but times have changed and with social media and technology being on the rise its changing the newer generations overall thought process and what they deem acceptable now. and ive seen women looking to have the person they wish they could be at least being portrayed in tv
i love viki, but it takes longer to get the subs sometimes since its the fans subbing as opposed to IQIYI, GaGa and Netflix.. ugh dont get me started on Disney + I havent been inspired to even DL it since i already have netflix. the more apps that come out the more they make it harder to be able to support them all legally.

Are they supposed to get a pass cause they act cute? Majority of them do not scream YASSSSS WOMEN ...how hard is it to make them be at the same level as their male counterpart? A strong FL will even have u ignoring the ML ..but most times when they are strong, not much into the drama they are dulled down, overly emotional, or "weakened."

Someone commented in another drama where everyone was also "hating" the FLs that its a cultural thing nd its the norm in how women are shown in cdramas. That people from other cultures were women are represented differently have a hard time clicking/accepting certain kinds of actions and behaviors.

The bromance was more entertaining. I couldve done without the love interests. Especially Jing Xuan.. she still screams sister vibes for me. I didnt read the books so I am not sure if they were in it or if it's for the sake of the drama.
