I haven't watched till now, but can you please elaborate why is that because I am a Zhang Linghe fan from Kunning…
it's nothing about zhang linghe himself. he did everything he could and acted just fine. the side characters are just written better in general (imo) which makes me prefer them. his character does get better in the later half
it's clear that this drama is women-centric so if you guys aren't reading the room, please leave LOL. it's a life drama, not filled with your fantasies
i am very picky when it comes to historical cdramas,i mean VERY. the double got me out of my historical cdrama slump. the last historical cdrama i watched that i liked a lot was till the end of the moon. that one was a REAL enemies to lovers drama. ik love between fairy and devil is kinda similar to tteotm but idk why i struggled to finish that so i dropped it (maybe i should give it another chance?). i also put love like the galaxy on pause (but due to academics) but i think will continue that. pls give me some wuxia recommendations (not too old and not too many episodes lol). something similar to this drama would be fine. if you take a look at my list, i have a lot of old ones (2016-2018) but i mostly watched that with my mom when i was younger. i like the enemies-to-lovers trope but i don't like toxic male leads where they HATE the female lead to the point it's like torture and then they suddenly love each other. tteotm worked bc there was much more to it. i also like angsty dramas. i struggle to watch over the top xian xia dramas. if i see goofy cgi, it's gonna be hard for me to watch. that's why it took so long for me to watch the untamed but once i got passed it/used to the cgi, man that drama was GOOD.
this is what we call an actual female revenge drama. loved it. xue fangfei/jiang li was such a fucking queen. she's what we call a STRONG female character. female characters don't need to know martial arts to label them as "strong". she was strong-minded and knew her priorities. the other day i saw some kdrama stans complaining about how slow the romance was in the drama and i was baffled bc romance doesn't need to be fast paced. in the context of this drama, it made sense why the romance was slower and i think it worked out so well.
i started watching the other day bc of twitter and im already on episode 20. there are many revenge wuxia dramas out there but this one is well written imo. the plot actually moves forward unlike other ones and the main characters are structured very well. everyone says this plot kinda reminds them of princess weiyoung and i kinda do agree (that one is also one of my favs). the slowburn romance in here just makes sense. also, one thing i noticed a lot is the dramatic zoom-ins lmao. couldn't really take it seriously after seeing it so much ahsklg. i heard that it's the director's signature move.
don't think anyone will die bc usually if dramas hint dying in a preview, it doesn't actually happen. it's fear mongering but tbh with how unpredictable this drama is, we might get a bitter sweet ending
this writing is going DOWNHILL. just messy af. i stopped watching it after ep 6 and based on the tweets, it's not looking good. i already felt like the writing was not doing well. i knew pje could not be trusted since she plagiarised a writer for cloy and decided to sue that writer.
finished watching this drama, it's a super lighthearted and cute drama. if you're looking for a classic romance drama that is easy to watch and doesn't have a lot of misunderstandings, this is the one. i loved ling chao and xiao tu's dynamics. the drama was actually funnier than i expected bc i laughed quite a lot. i definitely would have preferred if jun's real voice was used. as a jun fan, jun definitely knows what romance is LOLLL. he is good at the romance scenes not just the long kisses, but also the cute pecks and his loving gaze. i loved when he would cup xiao tu's cheeks super cuteee. i wish the writer made ling chao's character more lively bc this drama didn't allow jun to fully show his capability as an actor but either way, jun did a good job. i definitely look forward to his next acting gig. bc svt is so busy, i wouldn't mind if jun takes a side or minor role in a wuxia or xuxia drama. i think he would suit those types of dramas and he's got the martial arts skills already sooo i hope his next gig will be that.
sorry but i need yisan’s grandpa to die. like yisan’s ascension to the throne hasn’t even happened yet… they’re kinda dragging it. however, i did see junho wearing the king robe in an ig pic so hopefully it happens next week. i still love the drama just feel like they may end up cramming some things. we just need more deoksan scenes like PLWASEEH
