Title Generation to Generation Spoiler
I'm wondering if this is a relationship or just friends? The reviews say very mid....👀
If you’re referring to intimate scenes there aren’t any like the best thing or pursuit of jade, there’s 5 kiss scenes and they are very touchy with each other.

Title Generation to Generation Spoiler
I'm wondering if this is a relationship or just friends? The reviews say very mid....👀
This might be a little long but compared to what other comments say I actually thought this drama's plot was centred quite heavily around their relationship and their desire to be together even if her sect and everyone around the FL criticised her for it. To me their romance was very obvious and straight forward. Not sure how many spoilers you want but the connection between them starts as a friendship while feelings begin to develop, after the FL finds out he's part of the Demon sect is when the romance starts progressing quicker. She finds out he's a demon a little quicker than I expected around ep6 so it's not like they made his identity a secret for the FL to be upset about later. The ML is also very clingy and slightly jealous which was really cute. She obviously feels the same way but tries to hold back because she knows her sect would criticise and punish her for falling for a demon. Not sure why others would say the romance wasn't obvious enough when they clearly sacrificed a lot for each other and always wanted to find their way back to each other no matter how much they tried to keep a distance. Which meant that there was a lot of yearning and longing when they couldn't be together. Even when the SML tries to make a move, she makes it very clear to him that she only thinks of him as a friend because she'd only ever love the ML.

Also when the synopsis describes her as a 'witch', it actually meant that the previous generations of women in her family always ended up falling in love with a demon and 'betraying' their own sect. This kind of creates a foreshadowing that it's also in her destiny to fall in love with a demon and 'betray' her sect which explains why the Six sects are so against her falling in love with him. But the 'betrayal' isn't really a betrayal in my opinion its just what the six sects want to make it seem like because they're very discriminatory towards the demon sect while ignoring their own past wrongdoings.

Went a little off track but I really enjoyed the romance and the chemistry between the actors worked really well so I would say if you like wuxia and forbidden romance then give this show a try. I thought the OST was also really good.

Title Generation to Generation Spoiler
how red flag does he kill innocent people abuse FL etc 🤔
Depends what your limit of a red flag is. It wasn’t abuse he just manipulated the situation really well because he didn’t want the FL to leave and always stay by his side but in the end he always let her go to return to her sect. He mostly just had a really hard time letting her go and always wanted to be around her. The FL was also deeply in love and she sacrificed a lot for him by going against her sect to save him but it turns out he took a gamble and made himself get caught by her sect to make her choose between him and her sect. It was more like the manipulation of the situations than direct manipulation of her. But he definitely redeemed himself for everything in the end.

Quite enjoyed it actually, I think 8 is a bit too low. Honestly didn't even feel the time fly by considering 40eps shows usually take me a bit longer to finish. Fantastic chemistry, intriguing plot and I just think wuxia's are so interesting in general but also I will always eat up a forbidden lovers romance. The ending was very fitting and I'm glad things turned out well for everyone. Ngl the first half of the last episode scared me so I did cry my eyes out even though I'm usually fine with a sad or happy ending, but this time it would've been a pity if they went through so many hardships and overcame so many obstacles only to end up like the previous generations. I'd already heard that the ML was a red flag before watching the show so it was very pleasant to see his redemption arc.

This was also the second work by this director I've watched and now I realised why the deaths in The Double stuck with me for so long. I love the way this director captures tragedy and death, sometimes even making me feel sympathy for the villains death.

I’m surprised to see so much hate for the FL. I thought the reasoning behind the breakup made complete sense…
Disappointed but not surprised by the reactions to the FLs choices. Anyone who has gone through something similar would understand but if the FL made a choice that made her seem 'selfish' and 'hurt' the ML then immediately people say he's too good for her. Seen it happen so much even in cdramas. Seen reactions like these to Our Beloved Summer, Something in the Rain, The First Frost, Till the End of the Moon only to name a few. It's becoming very apparent that people can't just see the FL as a character in her own right but as something purely to facilitate the romantic relationship.

I think everything was set up well for explaining why the break up happened. I sympathise with both characters and sometimes that's just how harsh life can be. Instead of focusing on what happened during her time working at the hotel, what happened to her father and how the main leads are going to get back together, no let's focus on hating the FL.

So far the chemistry is so good it has me kicking my feet in the air and I keep thinking about them even the day after finishing the first episodes. The portrayal of a clumsy but thrilling first love and relationship is totally my cup of tea. I'm ready for the emotional roller coaster the next episodes will bring. Also, there's just something very charming about romance when both people have more 'normal' jobs, for me it helps make it feel like their love is theirs and theirs only.

At first I was worried that 10 episodes would not be enough for me to enjoy as a romance as even most 12 episode romances haven't felt convincing enough because it wasn't enough time for me. But based on the pacing of this show they'll probably make it work well with 10 episodes.

Was considering watching this before because it seemed like an interesting premise but after waiting a few episodes to see others reviews first, it doesn’t seem like it’s going the direction I expected it to. I would’ve thought it would be a story about family, grief, learning how to carry on living with U-ju, learning from the hardships they face while valuing the precious memories they make together. It seems like it just became focused on a useless love triangle. If it went in the slice of life direction of Hi, Bye Mama I think this would’ve become a much more promising and memorable show.

I’m not a fan of body swap….can I ask how long the swap is or is it something that overtakes continuous throughout…
The body swap wasn't annoying to me at all and doesn't seem to be for a lot of other viewers too. The first time is ep5-6 then again from ep11-12 so it only lasts about 2 episodes each time. Not sure if it'll happen again in the last 2eps as I haven't watched them yet. I'd say you'll enjoy the story even if you're skeptical about the body swap at first, as it's a vital part of the plot. The body swap plays a big part in explaining and influencing the decisions they make in ep10-14 as well as helping the main couple become closer.

I don't ever get SML syndrome but I think why a lot of people do in this show and others is probably because they…
Most of the time tropes get away and are liked despite having that weird dynamic and trope because the leads are pretty so behaviours become more excusable to the viewer than if they saw those actions in real life. Luckily there's definitely been a surge of 'green flag' MLs over the last few years so yay! Although I do think a toxic dynamic can still work and be interesting to watch if both leads are equally toxic and hurtful to each other, because then that just becomes the nature of their relationship rather than being stuck to a specific trope.

Trying to watch edits on TikTok, but all I'm seeing is SML. How do people even have SML syndrome?! Sure, he's…
I don't ever get SML syndrome but I think why a lot of people do in this show and others is probably because they love that idea of forbidden love between the FL and SML as if the SML is a victim that needs to be pitied because his pure feelings aren't reciprocated. Especially in this show, the SML is extremely aggressive towards to FL even though she shows him kindness no matter what. This reminds me of those cliche cold bad-boy and kind good-girl tropes that people used to love in earlier kdramas. I never really understand why people would side with this SML but if they love the idea of him yearning then I guess that's what would draw them to him.

I mean I know this director likes to add some tragedy between the leads but even this would seem a bit too intense to adapt into the show from the novel.

Omg this sounds more depressing than just killing one of the main leads! I really hope they changed this ending.
On To My Beloved Thief Feb 17, 2026
Haven't watched such a well paced kdrama in a while honestly and even from the first episodes it never felt like anything was dragging! I watched all 14 episodes in like 2 days I can't believe it's already ending so soon the characters are just too good. I was worried I'd find the soul swapping annoying but it was such an important part of the plot that served a purpose for both main leads interests. For anyone hesitating watching this because they're worried about the body swap, don't be! It doesn't last long and plays an important purpose in them growing closer as well as for the political and drama side of the plot.

I definitely agree with other comments that it probably could've even been longer than 16 episodes because of how well the story is written and built upon a larger message than the main couple themselves. No matter how good a romance or chemistry is in a historical drama, I find that with a weak political plot I can get bored quickly but this show was definitely not the case! So many interesting characters that each play their part really well.

Put on-hold for now. Weirdly enjoyed the first 2 episodes when everyone was depressed and things felt more heavy but as they started healing and getting happier which is great for them but I started to loose interest. The brother is also so pathetic he just always thinks he's the only one suffering in the world and even though I hadn't even reached the point where he gets together with Hye On, she's way too good and nice for him.
On The Price of Confession Dec 13, 2025
A thrilling story centred around a murderer who kills for revenge and someone who would kill for desperation and freedom. The storyline progressed really well and even managed to weave in some very good points about bias during interrogations and police investigations of criminal cases. They did a really good job of portraying how quickly an investigations process can quickly shift to portray a suspect in court as guilty as possible. Evidence can be manipulated or police choose to only suspect one person and refuse to admit wrongdoings. It's something that has occurred many times in real life and lead to the false imprisonment of innocent people. This is also why Yun-Su should have definitely just got a lawyer before doing anything because her going back on her statements and making a false confession just made everything worse.

I'm usually a 'more number of episodes' advocate for shows but I think this show was the first time in which I wish they did less episodes so that the pacing could've been tighter. It felt like it had dragged on a bit till ep8 but thankfully after that, things picked up a bit more. The actresses were definitely my favourite part I've watched so much from Kim Go Eun and she's never disappointed once!
On Daily Dose of Sunshine Dec 2, 2025
It's almost impossible for me to rewatch a drama because I know what will happen so I always look for new thrilling ones to watch but this is just a drama I can't help coming back to. The stories are so raw and you feel every emotion the patients feel. The main and side couple were one of my favourite I've ever watched. The side couple kind of reminds me of Sang Yan and Wen Yi Fan from The First Frost in some aspects. I also usually could not care less about the side couples in 99% of the shows I've watched but I wouldn't mind if the side couple got a spin off just for themselves. The main couples development was just so sweet and natural I couldn't help but fall in love with them!

Wasn't too sure whether I'd like it after watching the first 2 episodes but by the second half it became so addicting to watch! The twists in the 2nd half of the story were just so thrilling!! If the twists were predictable to others thats fine but to me they weren't and they were really well executed. No regrets watching this and I'm glad they kept an option open for a season 2. Something that drew me in was that I was curious what type of dynamic a serial killer mother would have with her detective son and I got what I expected.

I'm not too sure why the other comments dislike the acting so much, it was one of my favourite and I've seen my fair share of flat and mediocre acting over the past 6 years. Jang Dong Yoon was amazing but it was my first show with Go Hyun Jung and wow she was just fantastic! Especially in the scenes where they were angry, in despair or distressed they did such a good job. I didn't know she fit these darks roles this much I wouldn't mind seeing her in another thriller in the future too!
On Typhoon Family Dec 1, 2025
Fun beginning and a satisfying ending! I definitely loved the romance even though in shows like these when it's used as a subplot I don't pay much attention to it. This time the chemistry was just so natural and sweet that you can't help but fall in love with them! I honestly didn't mind that they had so many hardships through the show, they're natural and expected if the story was set around the IMF crisis. My only wish would've just been for those hardships to actually be caused by economic difficulties which they did kind of do in the beginning really well and that's what hooked me in straight away. However, the more Hyun Jun got involved and caused all these unfortunate events on Typhoon Trading because of his ego and complex, the more it felt like it was straying from the central economic crisis theme and more into just rivals petty revenge. Would've loved to see more of their cute blended family but I'm glad everything turned out well for everyone! Also everyone's acting was perfect! The directing and cinematography was also gorgeous so nothing to complain about there and I'm honestly excited to see the project the director will have next!

For me it started as a 8.5 and finished with a 7.5 but it wasn't a drama I regretted watching or got bored of.
