Well, I did get heated up and was rude. The FL might have figured out she needed the seal to survive but her asking directly is a death sentence. And you can't blame the ML for having to do so much because he actually must do it just to ensure her survival. He doesn't even know how many spies are around her who can kill her any moment. The Empress Dowager put down her plans to kill FL only because she thought the ML doesn't value her so she isn't a threat. Sorry that I was rude tho😅

It's so sad to see how dumbed down some people are to think palace politics is like a cup of tea. The most intelligent people die like flies when it comes to palace politics. People who are asking why is the ML doing so much just to protect her, well his enemies aren't frickin idiots that they can be easily defeated. This ain't your overpowered protagonists where the FL and ML keeping winning against low iq villians. No matter how much the ML thinks, he cannot really estimate how much enemies he is against, how many enemies are looking at him like vultures to see if the FL could be his weakness. If the ML showed how much he loved the FL, the Empress Dowager would haved killed her with the spies she planted within a day or two. ML can't do anything about it because he cannot be with her all the time as he also has to run a country. The only reason the Dowager didn't kill FL was because she thought FL was not a threat as the ML doesn't respect her. And that's how it was in the palace, they had to do all this just to survive one day. The amount of comments that treat palace politics as some power Rangers battle against villians where they go pew pew pew is frickin hilarious.

Lol, even the most calculative and intelligent people die in palace politics. Do you think a pampered daughter of a powerful figure with an adoptive brother, the Ghost King to protect her at every turn easily survive. You are really naive to think that it is that simple. FL directly asking for the seal to the Empress Dowager is like challenging her to a duel. The Empress Dowager has spies around the FL. If the ML didn't show that he didn't value the FL, the Empress Dowager would have eliminated the FL using spies. And they clearly show how it unfolds for audience to understand and you people still don't get it. The ML has to dod so much because the people he is fighting against aren't frickin dumb to get easily fooled. You won't know how utterly stupid you'll look unless you are actually in FL's shoes.

The dowager wants to eliminate the Emperor and anyone he considers close, so he is trying to show that he doesn't care about her at all and she isn't his weakness so she doesn't get targetted

What I've been seeing in many comments on MDL is that they expect characters to always make the right choices, mind read what other characters are thinking forgetting they can't see what audience see. I see so many comments like "I don't like this drama because a character made a negative choice" and I'm like mann, they can make mistakes and react differently than what you expect

Well, if there is palace politics there's no way it would be without poison. And it looks cliche because stories are written only about the 1 in 100 or 1000 guys who survive the poison. Poison in palace warfare is equal to sword in normal warfare

Both sides are fair game. He wants the FL to hate him rather than finding out the person whom she considers equal to her father is a villian. That would shatter her more. And there's nothing wrong with her reaction as well.

I think even if the master didn't ask him to keep it a secret he still would have kept it a secret as he knew her heart would broken much worse of she learns that the guy whom she considers as a father is a villian.

This is exactly what thinking in black and white means lol. Why can't you even understand the basic things that people can be smart at one point and dumb at another. Why the flying heck wouldn't characters make bad decisions? Are you watching a drama with robots programmed to make good decisions? The amount of stupidity. People change their decisions within seconds. There doesn't have to be an established reason and I have given the reason as to why the emperor did it. You want the writers to treat you as utterly dumb to explain everything which can be easily understood if you use your brain.

Both are not the same things. He didn't cast Wei Yun saide before because he is a very talented general who can protect the country. But that doesn't mean he'd be fine with two powerful generals marrying. Do you even realise how ruthless it was before? No matter how great a general was, kings didn't hesitate to exterminate their whole families if they felt threatened. This king is so tame compared to mad kings who were in our world. Many Emperors would have already killed the female lead instead of giving options. He is actually same compared to many Emperors. Stop treating characters as black and white lol.

I don't think the Emperor who feels like he has the world under this thumb would feel that way. To him, they are all pawns who can be replaced and he also feels untouchable

Well, from the Emperor's perspective it is a death sentence for him to allow two great generals to marry as they can both control a huge army under one banner and cause a rebellion. Most of these Emperor's are paranoid as they can never guess who's out to get their heads.

I can't say it much simpler words. In Fated Hearts and The Double both the leads were attracted to each other, it was mutual attraction. In Fight For Love only the ML is attracted to her. She didn't get attracted to him for the most of the show. How the heck can you even expect chemistry when it isn't mutual. Such one dimensional thinking

I don't think you can expect sexual tension when he is one sidedly loving her for the most part and she doesn't develop feelings until later. You can't expect sexual tension when it isn't mutual

The FL didn't care whether it out her in good light. And the funeral was the perfect time when she could enter the family. The emotions were running high, many people were watching, the perfect time to say she definitely wanted to marry him. Because nobody would willingly marry a dead person. If she went after the funeral, the emotions of Wen family would have toned down so much, they will think more rationally and would absolutely not allow to marry him. Just because it out her in bad light doesn't mean she executed her plan at the perfect time. Her intro scene was also the perfect time to say she was not into her ex and into wei Jun in front of everybody and he gave a positive response as well.

Obviously there won't be any visible chemistry as only he is in madly in love with her for the most part and her focus is on getting revenge. Why are you even expectimg chemistry when it was one-sided love ? The amount of delusinal expectations. In Double they both are drawn to each other, here that's not the case. This one dimensional expectations of relationships and mindless ranting looks so childish.

What's with this 'age not matching ' comments. There are people who look 40 but are 20. So they are not supposed to love because they look different? People be claiming they are progressive and say the meanest things lol. So what if she looks older than him? It doesn't really matter. And I can't even understand why people think in this line of thought anyway

Drama was never made for 'current audience values' or any values for that matter. It is a work of fiction. If a drama is happening in ancient times, it is common sense to not apply current value systems to that era. And there's actually nothing wrong in what they did no matter the era. She clearly said she is sorry to 'brother Weight Jun' that she has to lie that they both planned to marry to enter the family. Her conscience is clear. There is no official marriage. There is clearly no actual contact. She also clearly said they decided to marry, not that they lived as a couple which every body in the drama knows clearly. So to even link this with 'morality' is laughable. There is absolutely nothing morally wrong here.

Drama is happening in an era where one man can take sisters as concubines but people are going mad that a woman who wasn't even actually married to the guy falls in love with his brother? What a frickin joke.
