Heavy drama? Can you please spoil me the couple?
I wasn't trying to be mean, some people just spread fake spoilers on purpose for some reason! :)

Wow we must have totally opposite definitions of what a good ending is XD! I hated the ending of TOTNT mainly…
I agree with you about TOTNT, Emi! Even though I normally don't like sad endings, I would've preferred Yeon to stay dead. Everyone was moving on and keeping his memory alive, and it felt confusing how they brought him back. I'm also still angry about Rang dying, I loved him.

It's possible to have a well-written, satisfying ending that's also sad, but I do prefer happy endings, especially since I usually only watch romance dramas or dramas that have a heavy romantic aspect. I get too invested in romance to have it not go my way! And usually I'd rather have a flat-out tragic ending than a "bittersweet" ending, because with the bittersweet endings it feels like you're supposed to cheerfully accept it as "realistic" or "the only way it could've worked out," but life has plenty of that already and I don't want more of it! I don't watch dramas or movies or read books for "realism." (Also, I don't normally like to be spoiled for endings, but sometimes I look up quick and simple details from the end. I did this with The King Loves, I genuinely couldn't tell which man the FL would end up with and I hated one of them and adored the other, and I was ready to drop it if it wasn't my desired outcome! I've also done it going into a darker/grittier drama, just so I can prepare myself.)

Heavy drama? Can you please spoil me the couple?
The real ending is the opposite from what Cate said! The girl does end up with the pop star from the 90s.

Title Hit the Top Spoiler
I don't understand why people think the love story was disgusting or wrong...?
Woo Seung never liked Ji Hoon romantically, Hyeon Jae didn't "steal" her. Hyeon Jae tried to help Ji Hoon win her over, but ended up developing feelings for her instead, and tried to ignore those feelings as long as he could. Ji Hoon isn't entitled to her just because he's loved her a long time. And it's not gross that they're father and son because of the time travel element - they're the same age, Hyeon Jae never raised him, and technically didn't even biologically father him because the 1994 Hyeon Jae was the one who slept with Bo Hee, not him. It would've been too boring and predictable if Woo Seung ended up with Ji Hoon just because "they were childhood friends and he's loved her for years."

Title Mr. Queen Spoiler
am i the only one who enjoyed this drama very much but really hated the ending???
Me too. I loved the drama and the finale episode was awesome... up until the last half hour! I thought it was super unsatisfying. Bong-hwan was the one the king fell in love with, not So-yong. At no point did the drama ever imply SY and BH were "sharing" consciousness or "sharing" a personality. Up until the end it was clear BH had no idea if SY's soul was still alive or not, and even though it's revealed that she'd been aware all along, she was never in control. She was just along for the ride, a very up-close witness to BH and CJ falling in love. And that's what we as the audience saw, a couple deeply in love and connected, and I'm in disbelief that they expect us to believe that a) BH magically lost all those feelings when he returned to the present, and b) that CJ wouldn't notice the difference in his wife. It was even indicated, while he was looking at the queen's dictionary, that he missed BH. I would rather have had just a straight-up sad ending, than have an ending that we're clearly supposed to accept as happy and resolved, but really isn't. I really can't believe the drama did that, and it's left such a sour taste in my mouth after what was an awesome story up until now.

Review Mr. Queen
I was honestly left speechless. I was upset when they were separated, but tried to convince myself they'd be reunited somehow at the last minute. But then it was just... over. And clearly the audience was supposed to accept it as a happy ending. So depressing.

Title Color Rush Spoiler
Good drama, lovely actors, I love the univers, sadly it's short, but it was good. The end made sense because I…
I thought the chemistry between the boys in earlier episodes was on fire, so I was surprised the kiss was so gentle and tame!

Back here again because I just realized kim ji hoon i. e. baek hee sung from flower of evil, played second lead…
I saw Flower of Evil before I watched this and even though I knew it was the same actor from the start, he looks SO different that my brain refused to accept it was the same person! He's gorgeous in Flower of Evil, though super creepy!
On Flower Boy Next Door Dec 27, 2020
I just had to come here and say that I have never seen such a lifeless, apathetic female lead... I understand the whole point is that she's extremely reserved, but I assumed she'd eventually open up or show some inner feeling but it never came. She had about as much emotion as an Easter Island statue and made the same woeful, listless expression the entire drama. If a wet dishrag came to life, it would be this woman. At least the ML was adorable, we need more free-spirited and spunky male leads like that!

yoooo they've killed the best character just to give the main leads a happy ending. phew so disappointed.
I'm going to be bitter about it forever. It felt so cheap and pointless and unfair.
On Secret Royal Inspector Dec 24, 2020
Why is everyone comparing this to Mr Queen? There's no reason they have to compete. There are always multiple modern dramas airing at the same time and I don't see people acting like there can be only one. It's annoying how many kdrama watchers seem to think being historical is some kind of automatic flaw in a drama. Sorry I don't want to watch the millionth drama about a rich arrogant chaebol. Even if you're not familiar with sageuks, give it a few episodes and you might start to like it! Personally, I'm enjoying it so far, the characters are good and the concept is interesting and different.

No idea what everyone is on about comparing this to Queen Cheorin, this is how you can tell tweens from adult…
I agree with you! I mean, I'm enjoying Mr Queen, but so far the characters in Secret Royal Inspector seem more complex. And yeah, I don't know why everyone is acting like the two dramas have to "compete." Just because they're both sageuks? There are lots of super similar modern dramas that air at the same time and people generally don't pit them against each other.

Lee Joon Gi had a couple hair-down scenes in Scholar Who Walks the Night, and the wig was horrifically bad, looked like The Grudge. I love long hair on men and I love LJG so I was devastated!
Wandering_Queen Sep 30, 2020
I have no problem with shirtless scenes in kdramas. There are a million pieces of media catering to men, nothing wrong with a handful catering to women. The difference is that, unlike a lot of female characters in Western shows/movies who are solely there for eye candy shots and to support the main male character on his journey, kdrama male leads have their own personalities and fleshed out story arcs AS WELL as being handsome and fit. If kdrama men start becoming cardboard cutouts who are pointless except for having abs and being a reward for the female lead at the end of the drama, then I'll have a problem. But that isn't the case.
