I'm really curious....why is Allen still doing romance drama when he knows he clearly won't put his all into it.…
Cmiiw, but from what I heard, Ren Jia Lunās last two costume dramas (Love and Crown and Fate Chooses You) werenāt entirely his personal choices. They were projects arranged by his former agency as part of the agreement for him to leave. So it doesnāt feel fair to place all the responsibility on RJL.
After officially parting ways with the agency, his project choices seem to have shifted. Instead of romance-focused dramas, heās taken on more serious roles ā Silent Tides, which is based on the real historical struggles of the people of Macau, and Abbys, which appears to be a crime-themed drama and likely without a romance focus.
Looking at this, it seems pretty clear that his current direction isnāt centered on romance anymore.
The end of ep 19 and the start of ep 20 gave me ALL the feels. It hurt so good š
And those fighting scenes? Pure icing on the cake. Chefās kiss.
After episodes of him just sitting back, observing, talking with his buddy while others flexed their combat skills, watching LQQ casually defeat everyone without breaking a sweat was insanely satisfying
Iād definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a quality script and great acting
Currently watching episode 13, and honestly, itās been really good so far! It did feel a bit slow at the beginning, but the character development and story buildup have paid off in a really satisfying way. Episode 9 especially hit hard with all those emotional scenesāseeing everyone who had misunderstood He Xian finally realize the truth and stand by his side was so rewarding. Episode 11 was just as satisfying, with He Xianās team securing their victory and starting to really strengthen their bond as a team.

But thatās the fun part. Give me one subtle romantic moment and Iām done. Butterflies instantly š
Have you seen The Demon Hunterās Romance? RJL was so good there, much more expressive
I might be wrong, but I think itās the same writer as this one?
