A solid 8/10 drama

I watched this drama before, maybe like 2012, so I have some nostalgia of it. On my initial watch back then I really liked it. However revisiting this show in 2024 gave me a different view on this show. The pacing and storytelling of this show is it’s weakest point.

The Bad:
The pacing for the first half of the show is pretty good, but the time in Pupen’s country went by pretty fast. Which ended up being one of my least favorite parts of the show. The writing of the show wasn’t the best either, for example the whole “gay doctor” side plot was very uninteresting and unnecessary to me personally. It’s giving very much homophobia, but i mean this was 2010 so that was the “norm” I guess. Like it wasn’t even funny honestly and took up so much of the time, which could’ve been used to develop more important stuff like character bonding. For example, instead of the gay doctor plot, they could’ve focused more on Nam and Pupen’s relationship. Or even better, Nam’s relationship with her brothers. Like I think it would have been nice to see Nam and her brothers go on a trip, or a family picnic, to see how close they are as a family/siblings. Because they are quadruples, which would mean they are pretty close, however none of that was shown in the show at all. Like honestly I dont even know if Nam even likes her brothers because every scene they have together she doesn’t seem fond or even appreciative of her brothers’s “care” or “protection”. Obviously she is annoyed at them because they are very overly protective, which i would be annoyed too because they do go overboard with it. But Nam seems to always be annoyed at her brothers and it makes me question if she even likes them lol. I think a scene or a couple of scenes of Nam and her brother bonding or hanging out normally would have shown the audience that they have a “true” connection, so it would give the viewers a reason to care/like the brothers as well. Also I am not a big politics person so all the politics were a snooze fest for me, I just skipped through it. I liked the chemistry between Nam and Pupen, however I would’ve loved it more if they expanded on their relationship with more scenes. I especially feel like they could’ve developed Nam’s character a lot more, like her feelings for Pupen. Honestly at one point I couldn’t even tell she had feelings for Pupen because she was very vague about it.

The Good:
I really like the actors of this show. They portrayed the characters very well. I even like the silly little side characters, the maids and workers of the farm. I found them very funny. The overall storyline was very interesting and intriguing to me, especially when I was younger and was watching this show. I also thought it was pretty unique at the time. Now, I do think it’s kind of cliche but I still enjoyed it. All of the brothers are very hot, and pupen is so handsome! My favorite brother is Lom… his facial hair makes him so fInE!

This drama was one of my very first thai dramas I watched so it holds a special place in my heart and I always come back to watch it again. I overall really like this series, this one and the others.
