Kdramas are excellent, in terms of the cinematography (and good looking actors) but somehow i think it's a bit overrated.. most people like kdramas because of the perfect characters in the story (rich, successful, charming, good looking, kind, highly intelligent, good EQ) which is too unrealistic at times. in contrasts, jdrama characters are mostly flawed (that's why people don't prefer this kind). this actually leads to strong character development, that is central to the theme of most Jdramas. it's more about self reflection and fighting with the inner self/ego. sometimes it's painful to watch because of the annoying characters, but the progress & ending are rewarding.. watching kdramas plot are like eating instant noodles. life seems so easy and shortcuts are everywhere (just meet a rich handsome guy then your problems are solved) you don't really get the reality of feeling of the pain and struggle. jdrama is recommended for anyone who want to learn life values.

This movie is more about crisis management & politics rather than kaiju dancing & stomping around tokyo. Watch it with an understanding of japanese culture, ie inefficient bureaucracy, rigid mindset, slow decision making, seniority (senpai-ism), overly structured organization - then you'll be able to appreciate the story better. nice effects, background music & acting.. highly recommended.
