here's my review if you already watch the Reply Series and you're a fan of it this are the differences Reply 1997 - teen K-pop drama Reply 1994 - romance and focuses on society issues Reply 1988 - family, trends, reality Honestly almost all will chose Reply 1997 because its obvious that the plot is connected to kpop and because the actors are handsome and pretty. For avid drama fans Reply 1994 is really a good drama because they really showcase what is Korea on 1994 and the emotional acting of the actors are amazing For Reply 1988, I sincerely think that this one is the best among the Reply Series. The actors are too great and the family theme for this one is so strong and realistic. I've cry the most for this series. Like what korean netizens say, the cast are really not handsome but their actings are really brilliant. These drama may also make you reminisce your old friends, good times on the past. For the plot I will not explain it because I don't want to spoil it. Every scenes are hearthwarming and unpredicatable. So I'll let those people who will watch this to see it for theirselves. The signature of the Reply Series is husband hunting right? Reply 1997 and Reply 1994, focus too much on the husband hunting and that's what make those kinda repetitive and also removes your focus on the plot. But this series is seriously balanced. It will make you laugh, cry, curious, and shock for a bunch of plot twist that will happen. You will focus more on the plot rather than guess who is the husband. People can relate alot on the characters and it will make you fall in love with them. You will also cherished your parents more after you watch this. You will also not care whoever the female lead ends up with, what you will want for this drama is for all of the characters to have a happy ending because they all deserve it. The cons is that somehow you may not understand some scenes because they're too nostalgic and the 1 hour 30 minute per episode is a little too long and may make it boring for you. I also think that there were some unnecessary scenes that they should cut to make it better. The screen time is also kinda unfair for some of the characters that deserves it. I will give it an 8.5 for story because there are still 10 episodes left. (ITS A 20-EP drama) The OSTs are currently topping the charts of Korea and the actings are great. For rewatch value I give 8 because the husband hunting will not be as fun if you watch it again. Overall a 9.5 because the actings of the actor cover the flaws of the story. [UPDATE] Reply 1988 is now the highest rated drama after it achieves 12.1% rating on cable which is a super high feat for a korean drama (a 2% on cable is already a succesful one) This drama beat the dramas Oh My Ghost starring Park Bo Young and Jo Jung Suk which rated 8.0 Reply 1994 starring Go Ara and Jung Woo) which has a rating of 11.9 and Queen In Hyun's Man starring Yoo In Na and Ji Hyunwoo which has 9.6. CONGRATS TO THE CAST, PRODUCERS, DIRECTORS AND STAFF! FIGHTING!! P.S I'm really sorry for bad English and grammar skills. I tried my best to give my thoughts for this drama. Thanks :)
