So is there romance with a satisfying conclusion or is the romance genre not accurate? Some dramas get romance…
yes there is!!! the romance is not the main plot in the drama but it’s always shown in very well done details. is subtle but very well presented and in the end, yes it has a very satisfying conclusion! i think the way they portrayed the romance was perfect for the type of drama this is!

ok but seriously i couldn’t ask for a better ending? everything was perfect and absolutely unexpected? and that spark of romance ok that kiss? it has left me thirsty and i think i’ll be thirsty for days lmao such a beautiful, realistic ending for them and such a well deserved mafia ending in all other aspects! definitely a must rewatch ❤️ i really liked that they kept vincenzo as he is: a mafia member. they didn’t try to moral him or anything but showed the good in him without changing who he is! that’s good. everything was just incredible.

I saw a post in spanish from a Facebook fandom page about a detailed analysis of Lee Suho’s emotional struggles throughtout his life and it really hit me how... hurt he is. He has gone though a lot of difficult episodes in his life. He is not depressed, he is a person, and I quote from the post, “that has familiar, social, love, phsycological, traumatic, phobic, fear problems” and it’s sad that “so many problems are being minimized”. Lee Suho is not emotionally stable. He is not emotionally okay, so we can’t expect for him to act correctly in circumstances that involve confronting diverse emotions— especially since he has never had someone there to help him get through it.

Honestly that post... really opened my eyes and my heart is overly sad for him. I hope he is able to fight with all those shadows overpowering him, that he gets help and that he finally can be able to free himself from all those ties and be happy.

(Warning: it has spoilers) Here’s the link to the post I mention above; https://www.facebook.com/groups/541296783207692/permalink/673988343271868/

I 100% agree with your words....why bother going through mistakes when you can just appreciate things about them?Lmao.…
Ah yes! Same here. If I particularly don’t like an actor/actress I just avoid watching dramas with them in it. I mean, why would I spend my time watching knowing I will just be annoyed by them? However is I like other aspects of the drama, I might keep watching . But I would just not pay too much attention to that actor/actress or simply try to enjoy the drama for what it is. Complaining is a bit energy draining lol but like you say, we are all different and that’s okay <3

Exactly! It’s kind of sad when people spend so much time trying to pinpoint the “bad” things and ignore the good ones or the ones where an effort has been put into. I hope this negative mood changes soon... I’m happy you agree with me! Thank you <3

True Beauty is my first drama with Cha Eun Woo in the cast. As I waited for episode updates on the New Year’s week I decided to watch Hookie Historian. I see many people commenting a bit harshly on his acting. I understand, we all have different opinions and indeed, Cha Eun Woo is still learning acting skills. But as someone who watched both dramas mentioned above, simultaneously as well, I can admirably say that Cha Eun Woo is doing a really great, excellent actually, job in portraying Lee Suho. I was actually shocked by the difference in his natural acting in both dramas and how much he has grown and improved in his acting. As Lee Suho, he has done a much natural performance and the contrast is noticeable. I actually like how he is working and I wish for him to keep on improving for I think he has a lot of talent to develop. I am really proud of him and I just recently got to know about him. So, I think that instead of looking and finding his small mistakes, we should support and applaud him for his progress and how much effort he has put into doing a credible, natural and good job as well as delivering a good Suho portrayal. I am so happy with him as Suho.

Please don’t take this the wrong way, we all have our own perspectives and thats okay. It’s good to share opinions and see different view points and learn. I just wanted to share this because I feel a bit bad for him.

Thanks for reading❤️

Hi :3 just wanted to share my thoughts about the drama. There might be spoilers.

Hello there! :3 I just wanted to share my thoughts about the drama, especifically the two love interests. [There might be spoilers].

I see many people writing valid reasons about being annoyed, sad or even angry at the changes in the drama, maybe even in the slight ups and downs in the characters’ personalities compared to the webtoon; and I, being a webtoon fan myself, can completely understand for it has surprised me as well. However, since I realized from the very first episode that the drama would have another take on the original story, I started to watch it as a completely diferente entity and began to enjoy it and love it for what it is. Thus, I have been very satisfied for how it has been developing.

Is not that it doesn’t bother me a little, the unfairness of it. But still, it’s something different and engaging; fun, sweet and very entertaining.

Regarding Jugyeong’s relationship with the boys, I’m actually really curious how everything will go since there are still 8 episodes left and I sincerely doubt things will keep going pink and lovely from now on, despite being quite sure (98%) that Suho and Jugyeong are endgame. Still, I want to point out (being a reader of the webtoon) how both guys’ interest is presented and how both shouldn’t be judged and much less Jugyeong who has gone through so much and her insecurities just... bloom all over her without her being aware or even able to control it.

First: Lee Suho - in the webtoon, Suho is a very distant, quiet, unapproachable and cold boy who is struggling a lot emotionally and psychologically. He believes he does not deserve to be happy which is one of the reasons why he is so stubborn in not building any relationships. And also one of the main reasons why he is such an interesting main lead. He is hurting, you don't know what's going inside his head. That is until he meets Jugyeong at the comic store and become friends. This girl, whom he randomly met, helped him get through a lot of conflicts he had going inside himself and made him realize that, hey, maybe "I can be happy after all". And he loved her, since the very beginning.

In the drama his personality is not far from the webtoon, but does have some changes. He might seem boring but that’s not Cha Eun Woo portraying him wrongly, on the contrary it is actually him doing a really, really good job at it. Lee Suho in the webtoon is not a "fun" character, but it is one you simply can’t help from loving. He is kind. Really kind, intriguing and he simply does not know how to show his emotions correctly or even how to manage them. This is the first time he has ever fallen in love which is even more confusing to him, especially when he felt nothing but numbness and guilt and the constant reminder that he “killed his friend”. In the drama, this has not yet been explored deeply but still Lee Suho (Cha Eun Woo) portrays it perfectly. It might seem too stoic, but believe my words, I have read the webtoon 3 times and I can assure you, this is how Suho acts. There ARE some changes but for me Cha Eun Woo here feels like Suho, and that’s all the matters to me (in many of the scenes, that doe snot mean that it happens in all but that's simly how the wrote the script I guess).

Now, in the drama, he might be seem out of... his usual stoic, timid composure. Suho that is. But it is understandable, in some points. Is not that he is obsessed with Jugyeong nor that he wants to set in place that she is “his”. In my perspective, he is just a young adult who has deep growing feelings for a person who makes him feel safe and he just doesn't know how to show it, how to manage it or express it and he is obviously desperate. He is scared of caring and losing once again. This, but mostly he just really likes her and doesn’t know what to do about it, since holding it back is not going as easy as he thought it would. I think we all have gone through that emotion sometime in our lives. However, that doesn't mean that some of his actions are... "very webtoon!Suho like", but I can accept them since I see the drama apart from the webtoon and I try to not to compare so I can enjoy it more. Still, there is some things drama!Suho needs to work on.

The center of Lee Suho's personality is this protective, sweet, timid and caring guy who despite not being good at showing it, he tries his best to be there for those he cares for. He is understanding, quiet and the drama shows this part of him, but it also sometimes adds a bit of spice that might not fit well with who he is. But again, that's okay. Drama is drama. Webtoon is webtoon. And Suho is just wonderful.

Now, about Han Seojun I’ll write another post because I'm still trying to understand his character myself, especially since he is such a well structred and strong character. I’ll just say this, though: Han Seojun deserves someone who loves him absolutely and sincerely. I'm still trying to see if Jugyeong is that person. Because I know she loves him, but she still has to learn to love herself to be able and free herself from all her insecurities, to be able and love with no restraints. I’m rereading the webtoon again so I’ll try to put my thoughts more organized and write it down on another post. Maybe lol.

Thanks for reading until here! I meant this with all respect. People can like, enjoy, be annoyed about what their hearts really feel about with no issues. We all have different points of view and I think that’s awesome ;)

Take care everyone!!!

PS: In my heart, I decided to be team “both. both is good.”, that way it’ll hurt less whoever she chooses in the end hahahaha. I just hope all of them find the happiness and self-love they deserve. Both of them are great guys so Im Jugyeong please spread a bit of your luck, ok? Thanks lmao
