Back in the day this series was available with English subs on Viki, Viewster or some such service. When I realized that the number of episodes were going into the land of three digits, I took a break. Years later I still recalled this series, but when I checked back the series was gone from that service. And now, years later again, I still find myself thinking of this drama at times... I would very much like to continue watching it one day.
How can a movie be "well done" with a plot you don't like? Also, I hate smoking too, but do you really avoid films…
Greetings. <3
It was not the smoking per se that warranted my wish for a warning, but rather the plot taken along with the other aspects I found jarring. And yesāat least to meāa movie can be very well done and still lack in some other regards. Just because I do not like the atmosphere, the plot, the dialogue, the sound effects or any other aspect of the movie does not necessarily mean that the movie is not well done in other regards. This is usally very true when it comes to films shown on festivals.
And what I think one day is not necessarily what I think another, even more so, of course, when it comes to different peopleās opinions about the same experience. The beauty of having sites like this.
Now, looking back at what I wrote, I realise that I should have explained myself more, even I myself do not really remember exactly what I was hinting at when I wrote that.
I find it fascinating that so many people prefer the other BL shows currently/recently airing. This one actually has a story, a moral, a script and production worth mentioning and does not strive to conform with all the BL tropes out there. This series I can easily recommend to someone that is not a die-hard fan of BL. Iām thankful for this.
Finally watched this movie! Honestly, I would recommend one of the two anime series instead. This is a pure action movie with half bad special effects and a mediocre pacing. If you want a better pacing, further explanations given and at least some philosophical/moral reasoning, watch one of the animesāor read the manga, I guess. Itās okay, but I wanted more.
I don't know if it's just me, but I'm getting annoyed with a lot of these series saying they are making a movie…
I wanted to rewatch this one, so I watched the movie version this time, really, I couldnāt spot any obvious differences at all. I can understand if they recut the series and add/remove some scenes, but this⦠is a waste of disk space in my opinion. Well, whatever floats your boat.
I enjoyed this series for the first two thirds, always looking forward to the next episode. Then I had to take an extended break from it, until yesterday when I watched the remaining third in one go; oh boy, I had to force myself to do it! Personally, I loved the pacing in the first half, then the drama got overly complicated and unneeded, and it kept on doing it till the very end.
Ha! perhaps my first Chinese vampire flick. Not really sure what I think about it, parts of it was really good, parts of it was really bad. Glad I watched it though!

I really liked certain parts of it, especially the scenes that make fun of Korean drama tropes! Those were a relief to watch.
