Highly disappointed with where this drama is headed. The first 4 episodes were just SO good, I guess that’s a hard pace to keep up. The weird involvement the brother and Sejin have in the leads’ lives is unrealistic and feels like they were created as cheap conflict for the plot. The chemistry between the leads also dropped significantly after episode 5 IMO. It doesn’t even really feel like he likes her, yet they’re already telling eachother that they love them. It almost feels like he was pressured into saying it in that moment. A bit painful to watch. Loved the first four episodes so much that I might keep giving this drama a chance, but we’ll see

Honestly I think so many people have a bad case of “kdrama brain” where they excuse abusive behaviour from male characters (if they’re good looking like you pointed out), but also they’re so used to their hand being held through plots that they’re unable to recognize a “villain” when the drama doesn’t obviously frame him as one. That’s what I find so refreshingly realistic about this drama - people in real life don’t usually act in cartoonishly evil ways to let you know they’re a bad person, they’re more subtle and might even lure you in first. People need to learn to recognize the signs without having to hear a suspenseful song every time a character is on screen lmao

I really have to give it to the creators of this drama for the realism. They’re building an arc so realistic that nobody seems to have even picked up on the signs. I’m calling it now: the math professor is a predator. Almost half of the recent comments are shipping them, and honestly it’s probably because a lot of viewers are young and haven’t been to university so they might not understand the dynamic between professors and students. But I’ll be the one to tell you… It doesn’t matter if she’s in her mid/late twenties - he has a position of power in an establishment where he could potentially hold it over her. There’s a reason why it’s considered taboo for professors to date students. Here are some of the signs I’ve noticed:
1. The way he talks to her is FAR too casual. He’s deliberately blurring the line between student and professor. He even flirted with her a bit.
2. He asked the robotics professor if she’s a female student, and then wanted to recruit her. This could be nothing, but immediately it stood out to me because her gender really wasn’t worth mentioning. I think he wants to have female students in his department to take advantage of.
3. He tried to touch her when she was unconscious. It doesn’t matter if it was an “innocent” brushing of hair out of her face - that is EXTREMELY weird for a professor to do to a student.
4. He tried to unlock her phone. I know it could be because he wanted to contact her family, but there’s protocol in place for that. He could’ve contacted the university to get them to reach out to her emergency contact.

Recognize the signs and protect yourselves, lovely people!!
